Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: EST US Availability: Any day at or around 6 PM and onwards Preferred role: Player Game style: Looking for a bit of casual roleplay since I've never played before.
Good to have new ppl interested in the game, I am putting together some lost mines of Phandelver games. This is an excellent module to get your feet wet or sharpen you skills if you not to experienced. We customize the module, adding in character driven plot hooks, evolving into other modules. Traditionally this goes to about lvl 5, but we guide the storyline in to other official modules like storm kings thunder or prince of the apocalypse. We aim to bring newer players from lvl 1 all the way through lvl 20 in a long term campaign so we can teach you and set the bar for what you consider a "good" campaign should be. Should you be interested here is the basic info:

So that’s a no for me! I’m not paying to play a game that is somewhat offered up for free. If we were back in the 70s/80s era when we needed to buy purchasing dice and the figurines and the books and all that then yes. But not in the modern era. No disrespect of course, I’m just looking to have fun casually. If one pays for something then they feel forced to make sure they get their money’s worth. Replying directly to mystic
So DnD beyond offer all its source material for free now? Let me get the link plz. Roll20 or any other VTT offering pro membership for free? Sign me up! Good map material free that doesn’t take hours to find on Google or whatever, plz send me the link. Sorry point is there are plenty of things you need to purchase still when running virtually, your information/mindset it antiquated. Sorry it’s not for you, but don’t pretend to have knowledge you don’t especially when your new to VTT.
offer withdrawn anyways, all the seats have been filled. Go figure right?
Your right not all of the content is free. But the basics are. Don’t hide behind the fact that they are keeping some content behind a locked door when you are trying to extort money out of people trying a game they haven’t played before, especially when they don’t know if they like it or not. Newbies are here to learn a game that they might only have a passing interest in, and any of us that pays for campaign when there are many groups who offer a seat for free obviously aren’t looking for free things or have enough money to do it. Stop going to newbies asking them to pay for a seat at your ruddy table, you want people to pay? Talk to the experienced players. Also, I never claimed all of it was free. I said it was ‘somewhat’ offered for free, which acknowledges that they do have some things that require purchasing.
