Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: CST Schedule: Weekends Friday,Saturday or Sunday. Weekly Roles sought: 2 Players Game style: this is going to lean into RP a bit, but also going to have tons of exciting combat and plot.
This will be my version of Baldurs Gate Descent into Avernus. Will follow the story mainly but there will be some changes to the material on my end.
looking for brand new/ newer players, I am a new DM myself :)
send me a message and Tell me a little about yourself, experience, and what kind of Campaign you want to be apart of!
My name is David and I am occupying central standard time here.
My experience is very little. Only played both "standard" 5e and also Adventurers' League off and on for this past year. Never played online before and I'm willing to learn and try it out.
So far, my campaign experience has been in Rime of the Frostmaiden, but I've heard about Baldur's Gate and would like to dive in and work with it. It's still winter here where I live and I'd like to find an adventure or two where it's warm, even if it's in fantasy.
I am also in a *very* home-brewed game on alternating Saturday days, so those are out. I also have commitments on alternating Saturday evenings as well. I could do Friday evenings, but I have one Friday a month committed, but other than that, I'm all good with those.
If you still have room and are interested with me joining, let me know and I'll share my Discord info.
Hi my name is Andy I’m a new player I’m in central time too I’m free on weekends and I’d be happy to join and have my first game with you I have a small idea of how to play but I can learn fast :)
My friends and I, 3 total players (EST timezone but we can find a time that works for everyone since you are PST), are looking to find a DM to run any campaign in 5e. We have all played for a couple years together in-person & online (late 20s - mid 30s age range).
We currently take turns DMing campaigns for our group so everyone gets a chance to play but it means that we never really get to play the game together as players.
First and foremost we are "DM friendly" players lol. What I mean is we want to play to have fun and enjoy building the story with the DM, not against him. Specifically we aren't your typical min-maxers. We aren't here to break the rules of combat but instead to play a story driven group of characters that might not always play optimal in terms of "the rules". We are open to homebrew rules and ideas as well as trying out new things during the campaign you have always wanted to try but didn't know if they would work. Rolling with the punches and improv are some of the staples of a great D&D session so we all try to embrace the "Yes AND" motif of improv.
Secondly, we are all DMs! We know how much time and effort goes into creating a homebrew world so we respect that! On time, ready to play, RP and get into a wonderful world of D&D. We are heavy RPers when playing the game and most of the banter is done in character for the most part, including combat and decision making sessions. We try to keep the pacing, especially during combat, moving in the right direction by having macros, spells or w/e we are doing on our turn ready when it is our time to shine in combat or a social encounter. Additionally, we love to create story driven back stories that are vague enough for the DM to easily adapt them into the world around us but with some small details to give a direction we are going with the character. (we can provide some examples if needed) This prevents the DM having to adapt his game specifically to a 9 page back story but lets us as players experience parts of are back story that aren't specifically fleshed out in-game creating a genuine real investment in each other's characters
While we love to RP, a good well crafted dynamic combat is definitely something we enjoy. Combat doesn't really "pull" us out of character like some players so we love when a DM will put the extra time into something that maybe isn't "read as written" but makes sense story wise. For example, the heavy rain last night created a muddy field and now the bandits are attacking. The field is now all difficult terrain.
Lastly, we are all DMs! Lol I know I mentioned this before but I had to list it again because we are extremely open when it comes to discussing and receiving/giving feedback after a session. If you hated something we did, we want to know why lol. It's the only way to get better as players and it provides an open forum so there aren't any issues that don't get resolved before they become too much of an issue. We also tend to focus on positives after a session and what we liked. That way the DM/players get a better idea of what parts of the session were the most enjoyable instead of focusing on any negative feedback. Plus, we are always looking for people to possibly join our group so if we do end up finding a DM then there is a good chance you could be a player after we finish your campaign should you be interested in that. So if you wanted to run with players that will appreciate the effort you put into it, we’re your group
That's my pitch, sorry if it was too long lol. Hope to hear back soon!
Hey my name is Cameron, and I’m really new to D&D. I saw it on YouTube, and I thought it was cool. I have zero experience in the game. And I’m just looking for someone to teach me and play with. I can join any weekday besides Wednesday. I learn fast.
Hey. I'm Katie, and I'm a newer player. I know most of the rules, and such. I just lack proper game experience. I am hoping to find campaign that'll take away the boredom of my college life. Sundays work best for me. I should mention that I am a part of 2 campaigns currently, one every other saturday, and one every monday. We are on session 3 for my Monday campaigns, and we just did a session 0 for Saturday. So I do have some experience playing .I personally lean more on the roleplaying side of DnD, but I do like combat as well. I am a flexible player in terms of class, so I'll gladly fill whatever role is needed. I prefer to play cleric, tho, but I do have some character ideas for other classes. My discord is Shadowmere444#5045
Hey there, my name is Pat. I just recently thought about getting into dnd and as such have no experience. I hope you will consider me a candidate for your campaign!
I do have a character, but so don’t know if I did it right.
Hello! I am Nick a semi experienced D&D player with some DM'ing experience I am looking for a chill group to roleplay with. I’m a understanding player who will work with my DM to make a interesting and fun character. My discord name is Devilish DM#1349, I’m dedicated and will be punctual and communicative. I’m very used to home brew content as I use it in my campaigns I’m also willing to do a interview with you so you can get a grasp on what kind of person/player I am
Hey I'm Nathan. I've never played before but had a pretty good idea for a character and I've always wanted to try d&d. I have work sometimes on the weekends and am not usually available at all on Fridays. I usually will be done with work by 7 cst. Nate856488#3452 on discord if you're interested
Hello, I'm Eddie. I have never played but have found my love for the game through awesome podcast and twitch channels. I've always been a big fantasy fan be it TV, movies, books, or games. I love the idea of being able to lose yourself in another world of your own making and shaping, getting to experience something that's new and refreshing. I'd love the chance to go on the journey of learning the DnD world with you.
I'm in Texas so CST time is perfect for me as well.
