Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (using Roll20 and Discord for audio) Experience: I'm happy to take players new to D&D and more experienced players too. You should never have read or played the Lost Mine of Phandelver module before. Location/Timezone: I'm in the UK; players welcome from any time zone if the schedule works for you. Schedule: The game will be three to four hours with a break, Sunday evenings starting at8pm UK time / 3pm EST / 12.00 noon PST etc.). I expect the game to take around six weeks to complete, but it might stretch longer. Roles sought: Five players Game style: As it's a new group and I'm a new DM, there will be a lot of feeling our way and working out our style as we go. I expect it will be a light mix of role-play, combat and exploration.
I'm looking for five players who would like to play Lost Mine of Phandelver, the starter module from Wizards.
This will be my first time as a DM in live games, though I have DMed some Play-by-Post games. As an inexperienced DM, I'll sometimes miss what you say, or misunderstand and need clarification, or just make mistakes, and you need to be able to cope with that. :)
I'm also looking for players who are aged 30 or older. I am in my forties, and would prefer to play with others who are a little older too.
During the game, you must be respectful of other players and the DM, and there will be absolutely zero tolerance of racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynist or other bigoted language.
If you're interested, please post below or DM me letting me know a little about you, your experience with D&D, what kind of character you want to play, and why you're interested in joining this game. All characters should be based on the Player's Handbook material only, no other source books.
I'll contact people to arrange individual sessions to discuss your character and check that your audio is working, and then I hope to have the first game session on Sunday 7th March.
How long have you been playing D&D i have played two full session so far, but I have watched critical role for about 4 year now
How long have you used roll20? About three days
What is the best time you've had in D&D? I was able to convince a poltergeist that I was his unknown son he had in life.
What is the worst thing that's happened to you in D&D? Even the bad things give memorable experiences that you can learn from.
What are your pet peeves? My biggest issue is players actively ignoring story hooks, causing the game to borderline stop, and then not understanding why they aren't having fun
What do you love in D&D? The social aspect of the game and of course the lore of unknown worlds.
Tell me a bit about yourself. I'm in my final semester of my bachelor’s in philosophy, and therefore, I have a lot of free time when I'm not in school, I would like to socialize and experience a journey with others, that I can look fondly on. I like dark humor and puns :D
What are you looking for in this campaign? I love every aspect of tabletop gaming, but the lore and world building give new perspective to characters and their struggles
What is your play style? (Do you like to rp? Do you prefer to roll dice and chill?) I like to RP and chill
Tell me about your character, Race, Class, Bio and a picture to use for your token. (A picture not a token is preferred i will be making tokens.) Tiefling, warlock, lost both parents in tragic fire as a child, and was then adopted by a priest who was part of a strange religion that could experience vision by peering into the fire, as adult he saw a vision in his dream of the tragic fire which took place in his childhood, and saw that it was no accident, when he woke up a strange ethereal orb sat beside him and he had gained unknown powers.

Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New, but I have watched Critical role for 4 years now Location/Timezone: Denmark UTC + 1 Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, I can play all these days. Role: Player Game style: Casual/Hardcore Information about me: I'm currently in my 6th and final semester of my bachelor in philosophy, and wish to be part of a social and fun environment, where I can feel that I'm part of an exciting journey
About me: My name is Michael. I'm 31 years old and currently live in Stansted England.
Experience: A few games but still fairly new. I have watched a lot of Critical Role which is mainly where my interest in DND comes from.
Character: I'm still looking through options so I don't have anything specific at the moment. In my previous games I played a Wood Elf Ranger and a Rogue Drow. I'm thinking I may go in a healer direction this time but happy to design a character that fills a gap in the party.
Why do I want to play: As mentioned I am a big fan of Critical Role and have wanted to join a game for a number of years now, but I have had to move around the country alot so it was never really practical. I have actually managed to build a career around the tabletop industry as a graphic designer for the likes of Games Workshop, Mythic Games and Wayland Games so actually playing the kind of games I'm designing would probably be a good idea! The parts that appeal to me are the social and roleplaying aspects. I'm not necesarily the most socially confident of people and hope games like these will help me get better in that regard, so a chilled but dedicated campaign we can have fun with sounds ideal. At a more base level I'm a huge lore nerd and love expansive fantasy worlds such as those in DND, LOTR and the Warhammer Universes.
Your description makes this seem like the ideal game for me as I'm still fairly new, and playing with a slightly older crowd around my own age would make things a bit more comfortable. I haven't played or read the campaign you mentioned in your post and the Sunday evening time is exactly what I'm after. Feel free to message with any questions I haven't covered here :)
Me: My name is Robin, im a 28 year old dude from Southern Sweden.
Experience: I´ve played a few sessions of 5e and a few of Pfe2. They were mostly combat focused due to the groups intrests but i would love to get more inte the rp aspects of the game. Mechanics wise, i think i have a decent understanding of the game.
Character: I´m pretty open to playing any type of character tho im partially biased towards spellcasters. Don´t really have a specific concept in mind.
Reasons for playing: I´ve wanted to get into this hobby for quite a while, it just seems so fun and epic. The time suits me well since i´m a single dad with a little man who has bedtime to consider. I havn´t played The Lost mines of Phandelver but i heard its a really nice module for beginners, so i think this would be a good place to start out!
If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message! :)
Hi Steve, I'd be very interested in getting involved in this.
I'm a 43yr old dad, and from the wilds of North East England so the game time and player age is perfect for me. I've recently got back into D&D as a DM - I'm currently running The Sunless Citadel on a Friday night with friends so I'm pretty OK with the rules and what not. I've not got the Mine of Phan' though so I'd be going in as blind as any other new player. I'm on Roll20 and Discord. so no worries there.
I'm looking for a UK based game as although I'm loving being a DM, I do crave being able to develop a interesting character and all the fun that goes with thinking up something that other people would hopefully enjoy playing alongside/with.
Class-wise I'd enjoy either creating a supporting/caster class like a Warlock, or possible a Bard! Failing that there is a also a certain attraction of simply going for a fighter class for some classic fun!
About me: My name is Miel (pronounced Me-El). I'm 31 years old and currently live in Boston, MA, USA.
Experience: No games. I have also watched a lot of Critical Role.
Character: I have a half-elf wizard I've been working on, but I am open to whatever class the party needs.
Why do I want to play: I've been wanting to play for years, but my schedule hasn't allowed for me to set aside the time necessary to be consistent. I finally have the time and it so happens the time you offered is great for me. I want to play because I want to 1) make new friends; 2) test my imagination; 3) have fun; 4) learn something new. My Discord is Mielh#8495
A little about me: I'm a 34 year old husband and dad to an (almost) 2 year old baby boy. I (along with my family) recently moved from the United States to Germany for work, and will be on CET (Central European Time). My son goes to sleep at 2000 CET, and that is when I should be free to play. Of course there is always a chance he may be upset and may not go down on schedule and/or he could randomly wake up - so I may need to excuse myself from time to time to tend to him. Shouldn't be the norm, but I figured I should be upfront about that. I also enjoy Magic: The Gathering and have been collecting and playing since 2004. I also enjoy playing videogames (currently I'm playing Mortal Kombat 11).
My Experience with D&D: I got started playing D&D back in 2017, 5ED is the only system I have experience with. I played with a group of friends - our DM was a sanctioned Adventures League DM, so everything was by the book. We played through two campaigns (Storm King's Thunder and Tomb of Annihilation) and an Epic at an RPG convention as a group and had an absolute blast. After playing together for about a year and some change life started to pull us all in different directions and I haven't played since.
What Character I want to Play: I want to play a Hexblade Warlock (whose patron is the Raven Queen) who wields an awesome Magical Great Sword, I've gone so far as to try and map out level progression up to Level 8, but i'm not attempting to min-max or have some hyper efficient build - it's just a character concept i've always wanted to play.
Why am I interested?: I have a story and a character concept I really want to play. I enjoy the roleplay aspect of the game, and want to work together and have fun with my fellow players (and DM!) to add to the narrative and world our characters belong in. Additionally, I want to work towards having an in-character voice and personality - kind of like how they do in the podcasts. But I can always learn to accept my limits lol.
Hi Steve. My name's Dave. I'm 50. I live in Northeast United States. I played AD&D when i was 12 and played some other RPGs in twenties; but I'm feeling pretty inexperienced. The spirit is willing. I don't have a character but was thinking of rolling for a bard.
sigh... all those incredible accents in once place. (Canadgian here eh, we dount have accents) and I'm out on two counts, DMing LMoP pbp and online PC in Tyranny of Dragons that time on Sundays. Ummm, feel free to PM me DM to exchange notes on LMoP?
Greetings. I am also in my forties and am looking for new people to interact and share my ideas and storytelling with. I have 12+ years of 1st, 2nd, 5th, and pathfinder 1.0 edition experience. I am from the EDT time zone so it would be 3pm and I am available for that. I don't have any particular classes I want to play so I'm flexible in filling any party role and try to keep things interesting. Gloth#2325 is my discord.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to this. I've now contacted everyone in the game, so if you haven't heard from me, then I haven't selected you this time. I hope we get a chance to game in future. :)
