10% is pretty pale. Last December there was a 20 USD all books sale (for Black Friday/Cyber Monday) and most sales are 15-20% off by glancing through promo mails.
Depends how fast you need the Fizban book. Valentine's day might bring a coupon, it was 14% off last year and the year before, there is no guarantee though it will be the case this year.
EDIT: If you need the spells most/only, there aren't many (7). You can buy them seperately or homebrew them.

We cast Confusion on our own party about December-January subscriber perks. To say thanks for your patience, please use code FUZZY10 at checkout for a 10% discount on any one book, through 2/7
And... They are giving a coupon (to everyone, not just subscribers) as a thanks for your patience, not as an apology. You will still probably get the perks, just with a delay. Not a bad marketing plan... not the best either but a discount still is a show of good will imho.
Joe said in the Dev Update that they miscommunicated to the community about the fuzzy dice. They are both December and January's perk.
Starting February 8th the perks will go back to monthly.
Unless I buy something, I don't actually get anything this month. That's just weird. Thank you for the info though.

I mean, if the only reason you pay monthly is to get a set of dice or a random background, then you are right, you don't actually get anything.
As for myself, I have subscribed to be able to store more than 6 characters and to be able to share my purchased content with the parties I DM for or play with, so I still get 100% of what I am paying for.

Exactly my feeling.
Am I happy the "perks" for Jan were ignored? No
Am I happy with the 10% discount? I'm indifferent and won't use it because I don't know what they are doing with MMM, but I do appreciate the gesture and I am happy they came out and said something.
The reason is to subscribe however is to share content. I DM for my family and my children's friends. The first group is never going to spend money on this game, the second doesn't have money to spend let alone on this game that I love. This is one way I can share that love and make everyone's life easier, mine included, by having everyone on equal footing.
My concern lies around the pace of development and the road map seems to not have a great deal coming up beyond a framework. I would like to see something new in Alpha at all times but now we don't even have a real beta.

In the case of this thread being solely about perks and nothing else, when I say "anything" I'm referring to the topic. I get you want to defend DnDB, it's nice, but this falls flat here.
It is the principle of the matter for most people. The monthly perks are advertised as included in the subscription price. I think a good solution would be two perks in February. But I won’t lose any sleep over it one way or the other.
Honestly, this whole perks system is a lose-lose-lose scenario.
Having enough resources assigned to fulfil the perk promise on time every month means there's not enough developers for the actual features
Not delivering on time makes a lot of people angry because they feel "entitled" to the perk now that they have been promised
Revoking the whole "we'll give you a perk every month" will probably upset those people even more
Trying to deliver both the perks and features properly seem to lead not delivering either properly, which upsets everyone
I'll pile on a bit regarding how DDB handles perk access. You only get the perks for the months that you are subscribed for, and you lose everything if you un-subscribe. It's like some jerk in upper management thought "This digital environment is just too convenient and customer friendly, how can I find a way to ruin that experience? I know, I'll have subs work in the most Grinchy way possible!" When I end my sub to a magazine, they don't come into my house and take back all the issues I got while I was subscribed. When I start a sub to Netflix, they don't block me from all the shows & movies that were added before I subbed. I'll go so far as to challenge DDB to name one other company that we can verify as using the same sub model as DDB. And even if they can cite a few, they are exponentially outnumbered by the companies that use either of the sub models I referenced above
To DDB: Please either let us keep all the perks that we got while subbed OR let us have all the perks while we are subbed.

You don't lose everything - you just can't access them until you resubscribe. But honestly, that's how the Playstation Plus free games work - you can access the claimed free items as long as you are a subscriber, and you (temporarily) lose access to them when you are not a subscriber.

So the solution to the December-January Perk Fiasco is to say you're sorry and to make it up to us with a gift of... paying you more money. Wow.
Urshuraak
On the other hand, often the sales are only valid for certain products, and the next major US Holidays are in May or July.

Now that this fiasco is over (with a disappointing closure), I hope everyone is excited for February perks tomorrow.
First Tuesday of February is tomorrow. Let's hope this time the perks will be "a new set of benefit".

i think they said the 8th
Is there a way to apply the discount code to a book I've already pre-ordered? If so, I can't seem to find it.
Cancel the order and reorder.
Urshuraak
When I view the order there is no option to cancel.
I think you'll have to submit a ticket to cancel your pre-order.
https://support.dndbeyond.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055233654-Contact-Information
No, there isn't. All orders are final and completed at time of transaction, even pre-orders.
You might be able to get the order refunded via customer service, but there is no guarantee of that.

That's what I suspected. Thanks for the confirmation.
