If they're going to botch dice perks, just give us credit or a discount. I'd take 10% off of any purchase instead. Or just a pick of any free virtual dice set from the existing ones.
This is disappointing really. I'm not even sure if it was ever delivered on time.
The total silence is also the peak of PR. I understand they have other/better stuff to do, but dropping a message would be nice. Should we open support tickets for missing January perks?

What's crazy is there is a deleted comment right before yours. So the moderators are obviously reading this, but refusing to provide ANY update. That's even crazier.
Yeah and they’ve also taken the time to edit the original fuzzy dice pictures to say they’re the January posts. So it’s not a case of inaction but intentionally ignoring the matter and expecting us not to notice
I have no understanding why the perk release schedule is still such a bloody mess. Gives me the feeling that D&D beyond is on a nice downward spiral.
I don't know about you but the occasional background/dice/frame/whatever isn't the main reason why I subscribed; the perks are just nice little extras above and beyond what you're paying for. As long as accounts subscribed in January get the January perks then it should still be fine, but hopefully whoever is assigned to do perks can get the February release done in advance at the same time to finally get on top of this.
Apparently at least some of the staff are busy on a push to release the dark gifts/epic boons and similar content that's been long delayed from various books; I don't know who normally handles the perks (or if they take turns or something) but could be something to do with that.
I do wish they'd just assign someone for a few days to create a big batch of stuff for the perks so it can be rationed out rather than this constant scramble to never be on time.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
I find this situation very disappointing too. Like many of you, the little extras are not the main reason I'm subscribed either. But the lack of clarity and communication is frustrating. I'd be fine if they posted a message saying something along the lines of: "Sorry guys, we won't hit the deadline for the perks (for any reason), but we'll make it up to you next month".
I don't know what goes behind doors or who is responsible for what. I'm sure all staff are very busy working on different projects and mistakes will happen. But dropping your customers a line with an honest explanation won't take 10 minutes to write and it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, speculations start to happen, mistrust builds up and I'm sure nobody wants that. Not good for business.
And let me be clear I'm not blaming the moderators (they seem to be getting a lot of heat on different threads), I wouldn't think that is part of their job.
Totally agree. I think it would be easier to post an apology update than to edit the December graphics to say January, which sadly moves it from whoopsy we dropped the ball into intentionally misleading

Its more about how stuff is handled and not about what my reason is for the subscription. I feel like the progress on the site is getting slower and slower and communication feels very lacking. Feels more like a site thats in maintenance mode then compared to active support and development. Sure i like the site and use it - but god would i be happy if it would feel more like full steam ahead....
Not saying it is that way - but it **feels** like that - which sure makes it a personal experience. And every time i see that the perks aren't even been able to get released in a scheduled manner and all that - i'm just annoyed. Thats all :)
I was a subscriber before the perks. It is not, how much value we are missing. It is about communication and delivering on promises (well actually delivering a product that we pay for).
They could have given out old preorder stuff like the first time, I know some did not like that either, but at least it is something for January. Yet, here we are with no response whatsoever, with a failure on their part to deliver on services users paid for.
It is one of the perks of subscription, how important it is doesn't matter much. What if next month you would not have unlimited characters as they fail to deliver that part. You might only use 1 character, or none at all, it still is a failure to deliver (I know this will not happen, but is basically the same, example of not delivering a perk (though one that is probably more value for most))
Site says Fuzzy dice are January perk, so January perks might not be late, but missing (or repeating previous month, at that point what stops them from just having Fuzzy dice forever as the monthly perk):
To be fair on the long run I don't even mind much if they reuse some of the old perks (few years in the program and maximum 1/2 month repeated every year from earlier years), but doing this with less than 12 months and with two consecutive months is just meh. Also, zero communication.
We cast Confusion on our own party about December-January subscriber perks. To say thanks for your patience, please use code FUZZY10 at checkout for a 10% discount on any one book, through 2/7
Through to 2nd of July? Sweet.
(I'm joking of course - I know it's American date format - but they should know by now that the vast majority of the rest of the world don't use that format and so best to use the month by name.)

Americans will never learn (or admit) that.
On the other hand, this is kind of an ironic gift - I already got every book I want; and usually these coupons do not work for preorders, so... "Sorry that we didn't tell in advance that you don't get two perks for the two months; here's a coupon that most of you cannot or will not use anyway cause most probably you already got access to all the books you wanted to" :P
I just used the coupon to preorder MMM so it should work. But yeah - a lot of people won't be using it.
I don't think I'll ever buy that. Can't believe they can fit 30 races and over 250 monsters in a normal book without all of them just being bland stat blocks, and I can come up with that. (But this is not DnD Beyond's fault, more like the current theme and route Wizards are taking, which will probably convince me to drop D&D and switch to SWADE)

This is exactly my situation. I didn't subscribe for the perks, and honestly hadn't noticed that they skipped a month. Instead, I get to be affronted by the ham-handed mea culpa, which won't be of any use to the folks who've invested the most in the site and pre-ordered everything already.
ETA: Investment in terms of purchases, of course. There are lots of active forum users whose input and feedback is just as important. No disrespect to that investment of time and energy!
I’m glad to see they’ve actually aknowkedged. Still not great how they’ve handled it, but an apology and a 10% discount is better than what I was expecting which was nothing.
I just hope they learn from this.
I’m also not sure if I’ll use this 10% code as I own everything I want and MMM feels like a soulless cash grab (also recognise that’s not DND beyond fault.

Not to mention I never consider a coupon as a gift - it's a discount, but it's not a gift, because you still have to pay to see any benefit... "Sorry, we messed up and ended up deceiving you, I allow you to pay a bit less for one item you buy from us" doesn't sound very friendly, in my opinion.

Yeah the whole trying to be sneaky about it just leaves a VERY bad taste in my mouth. Not invoking a lot of trust

Yeah - a coupon as an apology is insidious. It still results in us giving them money - or not using it.
