Ryndar ponders the situation for a moment, "At this point, I'm not certain it matters what is to the North. Without knowing when the town was evacuated, they could be hours away." He thinks about the situation a bit longer before continuing, "The way I see it, we can make our way into the town and root out whatever is ringing that bell. Or we can find a relatively safe area nearby to make camp."
"Setting up camp here may avoid conflict, but we'd be on the backfoot for any conflict which did occur. We'd have the element of surprise if we take the town, and we'd have a more defensible position where we could sleep, but we would definitely be taking a fight."
"At the very least it would be wise for those who have not recovered from the last encounter to rest for a time. Or at the very least we need to form a plan of attack. I would think that those of us who prefer closer combat should go first while those of us with range cover them at a distance." To show that she clearly planned to stay in the back she held up her how, not quite ready to be in close quarters with a for so soon after the last one.

“I think getting into town would be better than being out here.” Helena says as she looks to the town ahead. “Someone is in there ringing that bell, so there might be people in there needing aid.” She nods to those speaking of tactis. “I am best at range with my magic, so would prefer to have someone between me and the enemy if possible.”
Essie takes a deep breath and gives a little nod. "If there are still those in town who need aid like you all believe, then I vote we go in and help." That's what Kelemvor would want of her, surely, she tries to convince herself.
She then looks at D and Helena. "I am more of a spell caster, too, though I do have a few weapons. I could stay to the back with you to make sure you take no more injuries?" She wiggles her fingers a little. "I am also good at healing, if that's where your concern lies."
Ryndar nods, "Let's take some time to get patched up then, best to go in at full strength. That will also give us some time to work out a plan"
Taking a moment to assess the situation, he continues, "Seems that stealth is our best option here. It will be hard for whoever is in the city to raise an alarm with that bell constantly chiming. That should help." He pauses, collecting his thoughts, "Seems to me that the conditions will favor our drow friend." There is a coldness in his voice, clearly frustrated to have to rely on the dark elf. "If you'd be willing to act as the forward scout, myself and Stigandr close behind, followed by Helena, Bramble and Essie. Try to pick off as many as we can before they notice us. How is everyone in the dark? Helena? Bramble? Essie? any way to throw out some light when we need it?"
The group finds a place to rest and discuss tactics for an hour. Those with injuries take a little more time and care to bind them (using hit dice if desired). The sound of the clanging bell is a little unnerving. They can just hear the peeping of frogs as the sun eventually dips below the horizon. The wind picks up a little.
"I can create some light if needed." helena speaks up. "Had to learn that one so that I could work later in the night and not have to pay a lot for candles." She can cast light "I also have a spell that can put someone to sleep, if they are not too strong, or it can affect multiple weak creatures." She can also cast sleep "Though I would like to hold off on that, as It is not something I can do very often, so maybe wait for a time when we are facing multiple smaller enemies."
"I am blind as a bat in the dark though, so likely will have to have my light spell up as we start out, or else I'll likely trip over something." She remarks as darkness closes around their group. She sits on a small boulder near the others, her cloak pulled tight around herself, looking out at the darkness with apprehension.
Essie plops right down whenever they find a spot suitable to rest in. She's not picky where she ends up. But she gives a nod to Ryndar. "I can create a light, as well. Always been able to do that for some reason." She wrinkles her nose as she thinks about it. Then she shrugs. "I can see in the dark pretty well, too. So don't worry about me. I'll guard our backs."
Daerthe returns the look to the surface elf as she makes a show of messing about with one of the daggers she has, this one being kept in a make shift boot sheathe. "If I am going ahead of you then keep the light away from me. It will only effect my vision. I grew up without light so I can easily make my way closer."

There is a little light in the sky when the group completes their rest, but the village ahead of them is dark with shadows. The clanging of the bell continues, but has slowed a little. It sounds as though Daerthe will lead the way stealthily across the drawbridge, Ryndar and Stigandr following just behind. Helena plans to cast [spell]Light[/spel] on an object and follow a little behind with Essie and Bramble.
(Helena’s spell produces bright light for 20 feet and dim light for another 20 feet beyond that. If she is only 20 feet behind Stigandr, it will give him a little dim light to see by. Everyone needs to roll for Stealth. Perhaps Daerthe and Ryndar would like to roll for Perception? If anyone else would like to, they may.)

Giving Helena a small smile, Essie follows the others. She's got her shield in one hand, her other hand wrapped around her holy symbol. Trying to move as quietly as possible, though, ah, she is wearing some heavier armor.
Peering past the guard towers at the entrance to the village, you see a large building with the bell tower and stained glass windows to your left. Further on, a two-story building looms in the growing darkness. Daerthe is the only one who can make out a sign hanging from it that reads “Nightstone Inn''. To your right, there are a couple of small cottages and a field with some kind of grain. It strikes you all how dark all the buildings are. There are no lights in any windows, as you would expect with the coming of dusk. The only sign of life is the ringing of the bell in the building to your left.
As you leave the shelter of the guard towers, you notice a boulder embedded in the ground immediately to your right. Looking about, you see a second one partially buried about 40 feet straight ahead from the entrance. Daerthe sees a few more here and there in the open space before you.

Daerthe pauses as she sees the boulders, her eyes flicking between each one as she reaches for an arrow. She stops and moves to begin making signs with her hands before shaking her head and waiting for the rest of the group to catch up. "This is strange. I see no signs of life and there are large stones scattered about."

He looks around, grasping for understanding.
