Aryniel steps into the room and takes a moment to eye the dwarf up and down, "Keepmaster, I assume." the wild elf nods towards the others, doing a double take and furrowing her brow as she finally notices the gnome sticking around, but shaking her head at it, "We were on a caravan nearby, sent some of your survivors that way. What do you have to tell us about the defenses? We're here to help, and hope you have some insight on how to go about it." 

 "Our Keep is fairly secure, but if you want to help, you can get some of the people that couldn't make it here. And yes, I am the Keepmaster. Please call me Castellan."

Aryniel nods, "Have you observed or know any specific place that people would be hiding in?" she looks at the others to see if there's agreement, the sight of the gnome nearby catching her eye once again, "And... you are?" 

"There aren't many places to hide, but we have a secret entryway."

"Ah, so a way to get back here unseen. That will come in handy." she looks at the others and nods, bow in hand showing her eagerness, "If you're all ready, we can use that to search the city for survivors." 

Buck had done a fair job pretending to belong when Aryniel and anyone else by extension might've picked up on hre presence, but while also avoiding meeting their eyes. The less attention she drew the better after all. Although she visibly started to sweat with Aryniel's more direct questioning, the keepmaster's chiming in about a secret entryway and inadverantly drawing said attention away was a godsend!

Would... have been a godsend had she not not snap her fingers before crossing her arms over her chest, announcing her presence. "I fudging knew there was a secret way out!" Buck declared before gasping and covering her mouth. "Oops! I wasn't..." She glances up tot he rest of the party then sighed and mumbled a curse. "Couldn't even go minute-" She muttered as well before looking up to the others with a smile and a waggle of fingers. "Uh, hiya. I'm Buck. And like it or not, I'm gonna be helping you guys on this rescue mission. 'cause, uh, you can use all the help you can get!" She said with a shaky confidence. After a quick glance to the Keepmaster, she looks to the party and adds. "Not to mention, I'm kinda of local. So, you'll need me as a guide if stuff goes south. So.... uhm... Yeah! Any objections."

Aryniel raises one eyebrow and hesitates for a moment, but finds it difficult to disagree with the small newcomer, "Yes... We could use all the help we can get. Hope you're up for the task, Buck. I am Aryniel, from Arundath to the south." the elf extends a hand in greeting. She nods towards her companions, indicating each in turn "These are Benagol. And Brokath. We were all passing by in a caravan when we saw the attack in... your city." 

"Please tell me when you're ready."

Aryniel grasps her bow tightly and nods, "As ready as I'll ever be." 

Buck grins and accepts the handshake. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ary, from Arundath to the south." He grin widens a bit. To the so far quieter others, she tries her best not to shrink away from the Half Orc fellow, and manages a curt nod to them. "Right! Time's a wasting! Those scaly buggers won't run themselves off on their own. So, let's go!" The gnome confirms as she loosely brandishes her crossbow.

"Good ta meetcha, Buck! Th' more the merrier!" Brokath greets the new member of their group.

"Right, then! They bastards deserve ta have the wool pulled over they eyes, and then some! I'm ready!"

"Okay. Please follow me." They start walking towards what seems to be a cellar."

"Nice to meet you, my name is Benagol, pity we meet in strange days like these" Benagol follows, his heavy armor pieces tingling every once often.

Ooc: maybe clear to thd character but not to me: we have a keep and we head outside looking for survivors?! The cultists and the dragon still loose? I think I miss something 

Buck chipperly follows along after their guide. But between her short legs and not wanting to be the first to go down the cellar on the off chance the enemy had somehow discovered it, she quickly finds herself at the back of the procession. From there she idly tries to study those in the lead, and at some point fished out some kind of charcoal pencil to scribble some things down on her crossbow on the way down.

Castellan pauses, and says, "Though, I should mention, finding survivors is wishful thinking."

Aryniel was ready to head outside, but when she hears that she looks over her shoulder, raising one eyebrow "Why do you say that?" she turns around and straightens up, "I know the dragon is no foe to be underestimated, but at least some of your folk might have kept out of sight, no?"
