ooc:Did Thavriol notice anything within his divine sense?
(OOC - ah, sorry, I forgot to include a note about that.)
As Thavriol searches out with his Divine Sense, nothing pings on his senses out to 60ft and the tunnel system makes it hard to determine if its just the cover from the stone and earth or that there are no celestial, fiend or undead nearby.
"well, there are our missing men..." Samael shakes his head; "this makes no sense, Neogi are slavers, not killers; they prefer to deal out old for new rather than remove the stock entirely....."
11 investigation
(OOC - sorry, I didn't make it clear, those bodies are of the neogi.)
As Samael looks over the bodies though, it would appear that these two spider-like creatures killed each other in a frenzy. And Nolla's search for tracks and information reveals similar, however it would appear a third creature was also here and was dragged away, though you find no tracks or drag marks leading much further as the ground becomes stone and rock moving out of this room.
"well, that could have been better, but now we can guess these two and another had a very lethal contest of wills." Samael shakes his head at his blunder. "so the third tracks may hold clues as to the direction of our missing hands and herd."
As the group moves on from this room with the unsettling scene of the two dead neogi, you once again find yourselves walking through the oppressive tunnels carved out by the marauding slavers. After a minute or so moving down the tunnel, you all come towards an end of the tunnel where it seems to open up into a much larger space.

As you all walk down the tunnel towards this opening, Samael hear's a voice, nothing more than a whisper at the edge of your consciousness. "You're all going tooooo die down here. Yooouuu're allll worried about theeessse neogi, but there are muuuuch more dangerous thingssss in the darknesssss."
Thavriol tenses at the words from Samael. He reaches out with his Divine Sense and prepares to extend his protections, such as they are, to his companions. He moves forward very cautiously, weapons ready, scanning all areas.
As Thavriol leads the way, creeping forward, his divine sense gives off no markers. The light from the lantern and those with dark vision make this expanse easy to look around as you carefully enter. The cavernous room expands from the tunnel into a main junction of the tunnels. Six tunnels in total feed this junction, one from each of the compass points and two diagonally - one directly to your left and the other on the left side of the opposite wall. Several smaller holes puncture the high roof of the cavern, unreachable from where you are and probably too small for you to be able to climb through anyway.

"We already knew we were not alone in here..." Nolla mutters as she frowns at her companions. She still feels this is a very bad idea, but squares her shoulders and moves with the others towards the larger area ahead. Seeing the various side passages she grinds her teeth in agitation. "Someone keep an eye as I try to see if any of these are more used than another..." She will try to move stealthily into the chamber, and look for tracks on or around each of the tunnels.
Thavriol nods, as he shakes off the mental attack. "I was just attacked, mentally. I can offer us protections, but they'll be short-lived and I think we should save them."
He peers around, trying to locate the source, or at least direction of the attack. He also tries to move quietly.
Peridord carefully moves into the middle of the chamber, holding up the lantern to catch the light. Since he's giving off a bright light in a dark cave, he only tries to muffle his feet to stay hidden, and he carefully inspects the area for anything special, like fungus or a dead body.

(OOC - it wasn't an attack, that was a stress check to see if you took any stress points.)
You all stealthily, as best you can lit up with a lantern at least, make your way into the cavernous junction. Thavriol looks across to the closest diagonal path to the left and the other leading off next to it, but you don't see any creatures lurking about even though you saw movement. A thorough search shows no sign of animal or otherwise in the dirt, dust and stone of that corner of the cavern.
As Nolla and Samael search for tracks about the cavern, you see some tracks, though not recent ones, leading into the tunnel on the right and also the far diagonal tunnel on the left. Nolla would recognise the tracks as those of the Neogi they encountered last time, and those appear to be the main underground highways for these creatures given what you find.

As Nolla searches about however, you catch a faint whisper, barely distinguishable and indiscernible, like someone leaned in close to your ear and breathed out the most quietest of words.
Thavriol begins moving down the tunnels they last went down, all senses alert. He moves slowly enough that if the others want to stop him he won't have gone more than a few feet.
(As we have never been this far in - DM can correct if that is wrong, Thavriol would not have traveled any of these paths previously. We stopped last time back where the dead bodies were, and never went past that point. This is all new, or at least I believe so, as long as I am remembering things correctly.)
"These two paths seemed used by those we came here to deal with, but, going by the fact we found them dead already, I am a bit concerned that those paths are not the ones we need to be concerned about." Nolla informs the others as she moves back to rejoin them. She would gesture to the two paths she saw signs of use near.

Whoops, I somehow missed all the earlier messages.
Perigord does in fact need a light, but he's carrying the hooded lantern from the last journey he went on.
"So those are neogi... yikes. How difficult did you find them on your last encounter?"
(WHOOPS!)

"We're not alone." Samael mutters as he replaces his mage hand with a battle cantrip just waiting to be used.

Nolla, please make a stress check (Wisdom Save).
Nolla wis save in Game log, result was 20 (modified not a nat.)
(OOC - brain was slow this morning figuring out what you meant haha. Found it though.)
Nolla easily shakes off the fears and stresses of whatever is going on in these tunnels.
