Aubreyand Raqisat both land all of their attacks on the ghostly elf-maid. Raqisat, while his whip seemed to inflict satisfying damage, his scimitar passed through the shade with minimal resistance, implying it may not have been as effective.
[We had previously decided that earplugs would be a bonus action...]
Gruggaand Cosettedeftly pop in their ear plugs [I'll give it to Aubreyas well since he has an unused bonus action and would have heard Cosette'swarning]. Raqisat and Leelan, however, don't have a chance to do so before the banshee arches her back and lets loose with a scream.
It is a chilling, otherworldly sound that pierces the very fabric of the chamber. It begins with an eerie, high-pitched wail, echoing through the darkness. The sound seems to come from everywhere and nowhere all at once, not merely coming from the spirit, but from the entire room.
As the howl crescendos, it takes on a mournful quality, filled with unutterable sorrow and ancient despair. The banshee's cry rises and falls, a symphony of anguish. It is both beautiful and terrible, a sound that at once stirs the depths of one's soul and simultaneously evokes a primal fear.
The banshee's wail is more than just a sound; it is almost palpable, as if the very air vibrates with the intensity of her lament. It carries with it the touch of death, gripping your hearts with invisible fingers of ice, threatening to stop it cold between beats.
Wail. This wail has no effect on constructs and undead. Raqisatand Leelan must each make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, they drop to 0 hit points. On a success, they instead take 11 psychic damage.
Though Grugga, Cosetteand Aubreyare protected from the harmful effects of the attack, they are nevertheless moved to profound sorrow for having experienced this....

The young noble watches helplessly as the whip master and the erudite gnome succumbs to the horrific scream of death. Hoping his still standing associates would swiftly revive those fallen, Aubrey turns to finish the wailing elven lady, again calling upon the powers of his talisman to send twin golden beams of eldritch crackling force towards it.
Aubrey'slast two bolts of golden energy strike the banshee. There is another, lesser wail from the spectre of the elf woman, and then she vanishes as if mist dispersed by a hurricane wind.
[The banshee is dead! But we are still in initiative as Raq and Leelan are still making saves!]
Round 2

Cosette closes her eyes as the banshee's sorrow fills her soul, quieting her as she respects the emotions and is reminded where she was. A bard knows when to appreciate the sounds which reverberate through them, sharing an experience to remember and reflect on. Then as if inhaling a fresh breath as the hurricane disperses the spectral elf, Cos begins to hum a low tune inspired by her cries. Removing her earplugs, she'd sing in elvish a song of reflection, an expression of best wishes for the dead to be at peace, and words of healing for her unconscious allies. Using some of the last of her magic reserves to reach for them.
Raqisat inhales sharply. Loudly. The reflexively braces himself against the ground and looks around to try to figure out what the frack just happened.
"I'm good. I'm good," Raqisat assures, clueless whether that is true or not. "Just... err... dropped a... yeah, there it is!" And with that he begins climbing to his feet once more.
"Thanks," he says in a half-whisper towards Cosette and gives her half a grin. He was down. Out. Oblivious. Still, he was pretty damn sure it was the tightly packed, hot ass half-elf he had to thank for every single part of him screaming in pain... but alive to do so. She just had a way of getting 'neath ones skin like that. Some ways better than others, sure... But he was pretty sure this was his fault.
"Leelan!" he than says louder than needed just now spying the little lump of gnome on the floor. "They got the both of us? Whatever that was, let's not stumble upon more of them, eh?" Raqisat backs up instead of rushing to Leelan's side as he says this. Raqisat knows he has no particular healing skills, best to leave that to others. He'll just scout the room and make sure there are no more nasty surprises waiting for them... Passing by Cos and giving her a bit of a nudge as he does.
(I had a healing word written/prepared for 'Round 3' for Leelan, but didn't post it because assumed DM may want to go through the motions of the round as technically Grugga may act on it prior to Cos' next turn :) )
[Thats fine. As long as either one of you uses a spell to heal or stabilize Leelan this turn (or next) we can drop out of initiative. With Leelan passing his first death save, there is no risk of death if he is healed before he makes two more saves.]

Relieved the threat had been dealt with and everyone had survived the terrifying scream of the elven ghost, Aubrey makes sure Furvus keeps vigilant watch for other threats while speaking to the team. "Well done everyone, and thanks again for these Grugga, literal life savers." The young noble says, giving the orc artificer a grateful smile. "We should really get back now thoigh, we are in no shape to face more dangers in here. We can finish this tomorrow before exploring the University." He says firmly, readying himself to return to the Empress.
“Should we be traversing back through the city at night to the Empress in our condition?” Cosette looks to Aubrey and then the others who are still wounded, especially considering what Raq and Leelan just experienced, and current condition. Not everyone recovers as quickly.

"If we're sure the screaming mimi is destroyed then I agree with Cosette," Raqisat says trying not to show the drain this has all been. "We should set up some blockades and defenses here and spend the night. It's pretty clear everything else left this place alone and new predators are unlikely to try to move in immediately... Safer here than trekking back."
As Raqisat rises from near death and takes a lap around the room to rule out any further threats. When he returns to the head of the table, he notices something. The desiccated corpse of the elf woman has shifted in its seat during the battle and something has fallen from the stained remains of its robe. On the floor next to its chair, Raqisat sees a small bag made of tan-colored cloth. It looks empty, but picking it up it feels slightly heavier than it should.

"Hey did..." Raqisat begins to call out to bring the shifted woman to the attention of the others, but then pauses. Looks like she just got jostled during the brouhaha and not that she came alive or anything. Besides, why call attention to the small bag?
"Ah! Someone did revive Leelan," Raqisat continues in order to cover himself. "Good. Good..." Raqisat then continues checking out the room from where he stands, giving it an extra look see now that he has suggested possibly staying the night here. Waiting until the others are in discussion on wether to camp here the night or head back to the ship, Raqisat reaches inside the bag discreetly to try to feel what lies inside...
