Gwendolyn is quite amused by the the other men that have joined the table at the time she arrived. She takes a seat that Beck offers her, thanks her, then sits back and enjoys the “show” that seems to be playing out in front of her. Also, she starts wondering if these others have also received the same letter she did.
Beck leans back a bit into the booth and looks at the four strangers. “Well, hi. Thanks for coming…I know things are…well less then ideal.” She says softly as she stairs absently at the table for a moment then looks at all of them. “Sorry, I didn’t catch all of your names.”
Todd sits down as invited, a bit relieved to be off his feet. "It is good to be here. Interesting start to the game! So tell me what sort of evil are we up against. Spare no details if we are vanquish this foe and prevail we must be armed with knowledge!" He will take a glass of wine once it comes and sniff it awkwardly before taking a sip. "My name is Todd McCaffery. Tommy and Dave are buddies of mine. They coming?"He pauses for a moment thoughtfully, "Oh! I bet they are with the other side!" He smiles excitedly, "Haven't played against them in a long time. This will be great fun!"

Jean holds up his letter. "You talking about this?" he says to Gwendolyn. "Yeah, I got one. Do you... know what this is all about? I thought it was some experimental theatre piece, and Todd over here seems to think it's some kind of live action role play type situation, but I'm starting to second guess myself."

I thought it was some experimental theatre piece, and Todd over here seems to think it's some kind of live action role play type situation, but I'm starting to second guess myself."
“Have you not heard of him? He is dead according to Beck and the whole city is in trouble. This isn’t a joke. At least it better not be, its not very funny.”
She turns to Beck, “Is this real?” shaking the letter at her “is he really gone? What happened?”
This sets Jean's thoughts into a frenzy. He feels a pit form in his stomach. If he really is dead, what does this mean for the city? How did it happen? ...And why had Jean been called upon?
With shaking hands, he reaches for the wine and pours himself a drink. He quaffs half of the glass in one go and stares intently at Beck, waiting for her response.
Beck lets out a heavy sigh as she flags down another waiter. She asks for something softly, the waiter nodded and walks off.
She looks back up at everyone and pulls out her own letter. "He had a feeling this was going to happen, hell, so did I just didn't think I would be alive." She stares down back at the table again. "I promised not to say too much, not yet at least. All I know is he is dead, there's no doubt about that, and he told me to find people, and come here."
She says placing her note on the table.

"This is what he left me with, I am not exactly sure what it means. I am in the dark as much as you guys are at least with this part." She then turned her attention back to Jean and Todd. "And I hate to break to you both, but this isn't a game or a fancy audition this is about to be real life or death."
The hair on Jean's neck stands as goosebumps appear on his arms. Suddenly paranoid, he looks around the bar at the other patrons and staff, as if expecting an ambush.
"Listen, I think... and I'm feeling pretty confident about this... that I don't belong here. I mean, look at me." He gestures to his costume. "I'm hardly dressed for being a normal functioning adult- no offense... Tim?"he says, glancing at Todd, "never mind real life or death."Jean pauses as he reconsiders Todd's armour and weapons. "Sorry Tony, that was unfair of me. You DO look like you left the house ready to fight for your life."Jean sets down his half full glass of wine, shifts his chair back, places his palms on the table, and starts to rise to his feet. "I'm really sorry to have wasted all of your time with... whatever this is."
Beck sighs a bit and looks at Jean. "Listen, if you are not cut out for this. That's fine by all means go ahead and go. However, I know those notes were magically sent to you for a reason. I don't know what that reason might be but it's a reason."

Todd looks around a little confused and whispers to Gwendolyn, "is this some sort of Harry Potter game? All this HE and HIM. Are we up against Voldemort or something?"
Seeing how serious everyone is Todd has a passing thought that this might not be a game after all.
Stefan sits sipping his wine listening to all that is said. He leans forward at last speaking “I believe the young man’s name is Todd. Though I do wonder now how old he is?”His eyebrow lifts with the question pointed to the LARPer. Then his gaze drifts to the other two who were here and seated upon his arrival. “I assume these two gentlemen also received letters then? Perhaps one of you could shed some light on why we are gathered here? My…employer is quite eager to see this business finished with.”

Jean hesitates and looks from Gwendolyn to Beck, and then to Stefan. Finally, he lets out a defeated sigh and quietly takes his seat again, casting one more glance about the room looking for anything suspicious.
Todd smiles for a second at the prospect of all his dreams and fantasies being a reality but as close as he is at believing everything he just can't get his hopes up and dismisses the thought for now.
Clearing his throat, "It is Todd and I am 34. I got a game invite to my house. Mom gave it to me and I came right here." He pulls the letter out, it's full of grease stains and it is wrinkle into a ball.
(Ooc: Todd will figure it out eventually but not yet hope he isn't too annoying to anyone. He's a good guy.)

“A bottle of wine for the table please.“ Stefan makes no acknowledgement of the waiter’s demeanor. Once ordering he takes a seat and waits.
The waiter huffed and left to go what was asked.
Beck leans back a bit into the booth and looks at the four strangers. “Well, hi. Thanks for coming…I know things are…well less then ideal.” She says softly as she stairs absently at the table for a moment then looks at all of them. “Sorry, I didn’t catch all of your names.”
"Johnny. Johnny Tempest," Jean says. "At your service."
Beck smiles a little at that. “Well it’s very nice to meet you, um, Mr tempest.”
“My name is Gwendolyn, nice to meet you all. Beck, so you are the author of the letter I received? Did you three receive one as well?”
Todd sits down as invited, a bit relieved to be off his feet. "It is good to be here. Interesting start to the game! So tell me what sort of evil are we up against. “Sit down Johnny” Gwendolyn tells him as it looks like he is about to leave “we have been summoned for a reason, he doesn’t make mistakes.”
She turns her focus on Beck, “Has anything become clear to you? How well did you know him?”
(So, I think to get her to tell you her relation you probably should roll for persuasion or charisma.)
Beck sighs a bit and looks at Jean. "Listen, if you are not cut out for this. That's fine by all means go ahead and go. However, I know those notes were magically sent to you for a reason. I don't know what that reason might be but it's a reason."
