The farmers of the western half of the Centauri Republic have long known something was wrong with the land. Crops suffered mysterious blights, animals were born twisted in strange ways. They learned ways to deal with the problems or moved east. In the past year, the problem has intensified and reports from the border forest are that the infection is far, far worse inside, and it is spreading, possibly threatening the whole continent. You have been summoned to Last Hope, a centaur farming community on the edge of the forest to investigate and root out the infection.

Ability Scores will be rolled in this thread. I will roll three sets of scores, (4d6, drop lowest, keep ones). Everyone else will roll one. You can choose any set of scores, mine or someone else's. More than one person can use the same scores.
All non CR classes and races are eligible. Characters start with standard starting equipment for their class, plus 200 gp. You may sell back unneeded equipment at PHB value. You also get one uncommon magic item and one common magic item. (You must pay the cash price of a matching mundane armor if you choose magic armor.) Wizards can spend their gold on scribing new spells, no restrictions on spellls from official sources.

Liarin: Against the Cult of the Reptile God Adewild: Shadows and Light 2 Brother Thaddeus: Rime of the Frostmaiden.
Name: Corbin "Stonewall" Aeorwul Race/Lineage: Human Variant Class: Fighter (Battle Master) Background: Haunted One Alignment: Lawful Good
Description: At just over 6 feet tall, Stonewall has the heavy frame of a labourer, tempered by months of hard travel and scarce meals. His face, though not unkind, would best be described as hard. His short cropped, obviously self-cut hair is bleached from the sun, and his jaw is covered in unevenly shaved stubble. He makes his way with a walking stick in hand, and a sword and pack across his back. Despite the grime of travel laid think upon his cloak, his splinted armour gleams wherever it peeks through.
Brief Backstory: "I was a blacksmith once. But tha' were a different life. Long story short, I was on the road wit' someone important ta me when we were attacked. I failed to save 'im, and a part o' me died that day. Figure now I owes it to the world to make sure the same thing don't be happenin' to the good folk across the land who can't defend themselves. In fact, I be on me way now to check out a rumour tha's been goin' round 'bout a blight threatenin' the sorry folk o' Last Hope. What's that ya say? My shadow? That's not for you to be concernin' yerself with.
Name: Jerius Race/Lineage: Harengon Class: Artificer (Alchemist) Background: Folk Hero Alignment: Neutral Good Description: Jerius is a harengon who stands 3 foot 5 inches (4 foot 3 inches including his ears, thank you very much) and has soft gray fur with bits of white here and there. And very bright brown eyes that are always scanning, always observing. He has a timid yet extremely curious demeanor, and often acts as if he's unsure of himself, but he has forgotten that fact. He dresses simply, and walks with a magic collapsing pole and a backpack almost as big as he is. He gives off the impression that his whole life is on his back, and he is unwilling to put down roots anywhere, despite living his entire live without the same 15 miles.
Backstory: There's always been something unusual about the forest, but that's just fine, because there's always been something unusual about Jerius. As a harengon who was raised in Last Hope by centaurs, folk knew there was obviously something different with him. When some locals developed a mysterious disease, and Jerius was able to cure them with his alchemical knowledge, they knew he was also profound. Now with the infection of the land growing worse, his fellow townsfolk are looking to him for answers. If only he had any to give them.
Name: Aldrith Taalrin Race/Lineage: Dhampir Class: Barbarian/Monk(Living Weapon) Background: Noble Alignment: Chaotic Good Description: At just under 6ft Aldrith appears to be a fairly handsome human male in his late 20s. He has brown hair flecked at the edges with white. His eyes are a light shade of brown. Aldrith's skin is mostly normal in appearance, slightly more pale than would be expected. He is very friendly and seemingly upfront outside of combat.
Backstory: Once a former noble's son Aldrith was a bit of a spoiled brat throwing parties constantly and generally being a jerk. Until one day when he was drunkenly walking home he was attacked for the first time in his life, and something happened, he vanished that day with no knowledge of what had transpired he woke in the forest outside of the city with his clothes in tatters covered in blood. Fearing what he had done the young man ran into hiding and trained with a clan of warrior monks who helped him channel his new found ferocity and taste for blood into a weapon which he could use to help others and help atone for what ever he had done. His most recent travels have taken him to Last Hope where he wishes to help those who live there, and perhaps final cleanse his conscience.
Name: Bremita Goodearth Race/Lineage: Halfling/Mark of Hospitality Class: Bard/College of Spirits Background:Celebrity Adventurer’s Scion Alignment: NG Brief (1 Paragraph max) Description: Bremita is a stout little halfling, coming in at just under 3 feet. Dark brown hair, cut short with brown eyes and smooth light skin. She always keeps herself clean and neat - never dirt under those fingernails! And tends to wear well tailored clothes, though a bit worn with age. She's in her younger 30s and thinks she is ready for anything!
Brief (2 Paragraph max) Backstory: Bremita runs a little inn several miles North of Last Hope. It was one of the things she inherited from her parents and also why she became a bard in the first place. It has been quite the content life for her, but when her centaur friend, Ostani, asked for her help, she made her way to Last Hope to see what she could do.
A young, tall boy that is part human, part elf. He has olive green eyes and blonde hair. On his back is a cloak with the insignia of some sort of flying pig.
Brief Backstory:
Wilbur grew up in the small village of Eastwood. As he was growing up, he learned that there was magic inside of him, but this magic could go wild. One day, when Wilbur was in the village, a small traveling circus named The Flying Pigs came to his village. The show was so enticing to Wilbur, he auditioned to join as soon as the show was over, and using his strange magic as a use of performance, he was able to enter. Thus began Wilbur's career as an entertainer.
3 years later, and business hadn't been doing well. Wilbur had made a lot of friends, but slowly the group was falling apart. Wilbur hadn't gotten any better at controlling his magic, either. So the accident that occurred one day was the final nail in the coffin. Everything was going well, until it came time for Wilbur to do his stunt. What was meant to be a simple spell of Minor Illusion instead turned him into... a sheep! He was made a laughingstock the whole time! Out of embarrassment, Wilbur leaves the circus, and takes up adventuring for a change. After hearing about a strange incident that is happening at Last Hope, Wilbur chooses to head out there and see what is going on.
