Just one thing Khessa would have liked to do, before sleeping: she would have invited Ev'alish at home to hear his history (he had told he had been in the clutches of an evil dragon, but we had no time to speak more in detail - Khessa would have liked to). No need to roleplay this, if we think it is too boring or too dispersive; if only Ev'alish says he accepted the invitation, I can read his history in his application post and be content with it.
Kan looks pretty tired still, but filled with relief rather than his frightened appearance from the day before.
He’s holding a new staff like a security blanket clutched to his chest, and at his feet is a curious creation of wood. It looks like a tiny barrel with legs and a spout at the front. It appears to ward off anyone who comes too close.
“Ladies and Gentlemen… I am so ready now. I got a bunch done last night. This is going to blow their ears right off. The goblin leader won’t stand a chance.”
"Godrick Hulvaarn is my name, milady." The hunter says.
"Pleasure to meet you Godrick" she holds out her hand. "I hope that my family and you will become good friends".
"Maybe with Shadow Stalker as guide, we also could hunt a little, to build a supply of food for the village" she thinks, when she is alone again. "I'll have to speak about this, after we defeat Non-Boss Hark"
Khessa give s the best parts of the cooked deer meat to her children, then she starts her routine of the morning: a some physical exercise to keep in shape, buil power, build stamina... She invites her children to do the exercises with her, if they want, explaining that it will be fun to do them together and that it will help them grow strong and healthy. If they accept, of course, she avoids overworking them and train them appropriately to their current physical state.
Then they all take a bath and Khessa, after some time to study and practice magic also, explains to them: "I need to gather my friends now. Together, we will make sure that goblins will never be a problem again. You don't leave the village, right? I mean it. There is still plenty of perrils. You both have experienced what it means to get into trouble. So DON'T DO IT."
She watches them in the eyes, triyng to get their attention: "Yondra, I rely above all on you, who are the most grown up: take care that your brother does not come up with dangerous ideas. I know what it is to be the eldest... I also am the eldest daughter, in my original family. I had two younger brothers and two younger sisters..."
"Of the brothers, one has been killed instead of captured, during that hellish night of the drow raid... poor Anator! But I won't speak about this NOW" she thinks.
"...So I know what it is, to have responsibility for someone other" she goes on. "Sometimes, it can be frustrating. But... believe me: there is nothing - and I mean nothing - that beats when you realize what a wonderful person one of your family is becoming... and you know that it is partly your doing".
Then to the younger: "And Sarvin, you... Are you eager to grow up? Well, growing up is also deciding to trust those who have grown already. Show me the man that you are becoming. I know you won't let me down. Play with your sister or your friends, listen to her if she tells you NOT to do something and stay out of trouble. I'll be back. I leave some more meat for you, in case I can't get back for lunch, but I'll be there for dinner for sure. Here, I also give you something to play with!"
The warrior-mage cast her first cantrips of the day: some Light on some sticks and pebbles, dividing them among her children and letting them decide the color of the light of their pebbles. Finally, Khessa hugs them once more, kisses them several times, asks the neighbors if they can please check too, from time to time, that everything is okay, then goes in search of her mates.

"Feels good to see you that sure of your abilities Kan!" smiles Khessa "I too believe that this will be a day at the end of which the goblins will have a less dangerous leader. There is something we should know about this... creation of yours?"
Kan gestures and the little barrel walks a safe distance away before spewing a gout of fire in front of it.
“You talked last night about fire, and this thing? It’ll spew fire as long as it remains intact. I made some other modifications for it, too, but this one seemed appropriate just now.”

"Wonderful, Kan!" Khessa pats him on the shoulder "Let's wait for the others, then go. Just one thing: Non-Boss Hark will be expecting us. He must have noticed the slaughter of some of his goblins plus the demise of the two ogres, not to mention the disappearence of his prisoners. So, this time, I think we should NOT simply walk to entrance. We'd better take a longer route and come to entrance from up - so to be able at least to take down eventual goblins on the external ledges. After that... well, we might give Shadow Stalker's smoke plan a try. And finish Non-Boss hark and his lackeys as they come coughing for the exit".
Khessa's children are eager to train with her, wanting to become as good a fighter as her. Are you ready to head to the Dripping Caves now, or this there something else you want to do first?
Khessa ready. She is speaking with Kan while expecting the others (and is proposing NOT to approach the entrance from the front like the day before but to take a longer route, in order to arrive from above).
Ev'alish is more than happy to recount the tales of his younger self to Khessa and her family by the fire.
Born alongside two other clutchmates, he and his siblings separated at adulthood to serve the dragon-god, Bahamut. Ev'alish's travels led him to a remote village, where the news of a dragon attacking had drawn him. Along with several other adventurers, they sought out to destroy the creature, only for the majority of the group to be destroyed outright. The white dragon, Cryovain, took glee in defeating one of the acolytes of the platinum dragon and froze him to near-death as a trophy in its lair. For decades, perhaps, he stopped thinking, stopped sensing, but would not relent in his mission or his faith, and on the fiftieth fall equinox after his stasis began the dragon was slain. Bahamut was able to reach his acolyte once more and sent a ray of sunlight to pierce through the cave and melt his prison.
With his body weakened severely from the long hibernation, Ev'alish limped toward civilization, and soon after he was travel-worthy again he had heard the call to protect the citizens of Nightstone. He had met several other like-minded people on the journey there, and the rest is history.
When he wakes, the silver-scaled barbarian partakes thankfully in the meal given to them, readies his gear, and speaks with the others.
"If thy wishes to explore and find another entrance, that might be optimal."
Kramyra gives her regrets that she must retire early as she has new spells to learn and needs meditation time in order to process these things. She then turns to Khessa, "You mentioned a spellbook I could look at? Tomorrow morning, before your children rise, would you mind coming to my room so I can study it? It would really be most appreciated. Anything I can learn to help us on our quest. It is becoming much more entangled and even interesting than I had anticipated." she nods to the rest of you, "good work all, and good night."

It would really be most appreciated. Anything I can learn to help us on our quest. It is becoming much more entangled and even interesting than I had anticipated." she nods to the rest of you, "good work all, and good night."
"You'll always be welcome to read my spellbook every time you want, mistress Kramyra!" smiles Khessa "But in the morning I had planned a different activity for the children..." then she seem to come to a sudden decision "Here," she gives the spellbook to her mentor, without esitation "take it with you and study it in the morning, while I'm busy. Then I'll come to get it back before we start, to refresh my spells also".
(Then all stays as already written - only change is that Khessa goes fetch her spellbook back before studying it. I have anticipated the spell list of the spellbook in the OOC thread)
"If thy wishes to explore and find another entrance, that might be optimal."
"I was thinking more about another way to get to entrance, so to better fight sentinels, rather than ANOTHER entrance..." reflects Khessa "...but you have a point here, Ev'alish. We might explore around a bit and check if another entrance exists. If, so, we might well surprise them again. Our goblin ally here might know something about it... Boss Pojo, as far as you know, there are other accesses to the caves? (Or at least sections of the caves that you goblins did not fully explore yet?)".
Gryrim rises to the smell of hot deer meat after he too retired early still feeling a little off from the changes the day before. Looking himself over he punches himself in the leg. It seemed as though his new scales offered up a measure of protection. No need for that thenhe looks at his leather armour sitting next to his bed roll. Dressing and feeling more confident in his new skin, literally, he follows his nose towards the food and partakes in the cooked deer. Between mouthfuls he indicates that he is ready to go when the others are.
Kramyra enjoys her breakfast after a long night of studying (I'll work out the spells and such in the OOC) and lets herself enjoy the morning as she watches Khessa and her new children. As Gryrim enters the room, "Nice new skin you got there, kinda shiny, I like it" and she gives him a warm smile. Going to be a good day, she thinks to herself, knowing the challenge they have ahead of them.
As they get ready to go, Kramyra suggests taking half of the guards with them, leaving 5 to guard the city (or more) in case of another intrusion.
Ev'alish agrees with Kramyra's guard plan, and moves to the front of the group (with someone else beside him to look for things, he is there more to take point in case of an attack.)
Khessa also totally agrees with leaving some of the guard to defend the village, just to be sure. She would have left them ALL at village, truth to be told, confiding in the increased ability of the party; but maybe it will safe enough to take 5 guards after all. This might speed up the victory. So she will be able to come back to her children earlier.
Anyway, the warrior-mage once again instructs the guards to stay behind, to take cover whenever possibile and to make good use of the ranged weapon that have been given to them: "Nightstone needs living guards more than dead heroes. Be careful, let us heavy armored meet enemy attacks. Try to shot enemies from distance, from a position that gives protection, when possible. Retreat if wounded" she looks them in the eye with affection, one by one, while her voice softens. "You all know that I have become the mother of Yondra and Sarvin. You are the ones who will defend my children every time I'll need to be away. So, please, try to follow my advice. I want to bring you all back alive. Nightstone will need you. The villagers will need you. My children will need you. Not to mention" (is it a tear of emotion, the one that stealthily runs down her cheek?) "that by now you too have become my people. And now, let's go and give those goblin a more fitting leader".
"Speaking with Ev'alish before the start," remembers Khessa "we were thinking about exploring the hill above the cave's entrance, to see if there is ANOTHER entrance. If so, we might surprise the goblins again (and we'd also have to discard Shadow Stalker's smoke plan). If not, we could come to the entrance from the top and we will at least be in a better position to fight the eventual guards on the external ledges".
She turns her head a moment to the goblin ally: "Boss Pojo, do you know any cave entrances other than the one we have already used?"
