As the last goblins fell lifeless, the half-elf could not help but to feel it was all too easy. They had the numbers advantage, sure, and last night most of the enemies were taken but still something felt wrong. Maybe I’m just being pessimistic, he thought to himself, finding no sign of anything to worry. Until the creature appeared. It seemed reptilian, draconic, in some capacity, and strong. As his allies advanced and stroke it, the thing resisted and, soon enough, reacted with an attack that reminded him of Ev’alish’s breath weapon, but carrying poison instead of frost.
Sorjen felt its sickening stench, and for a moment he felt his eyes and nostrils sting. Centering his mind he is able to pull the influence of the toxin away. As he did, the drakewarden took his distance, as much as he could, and knoced another arrow in his bow. Natural energy started to flow through his body as his eyes start to glow emerald.
“You are prey.” He says almost in a whisper, casting his mark upon the new enemy. His Hunter’s Mark. As the platinum claw appear over it, the ranger releases his arrow. Without further command, the drake spirit prepares itself for any incoming attack, focusing its attention on avoiding whatever could come.
Notes: Sorjen moves his 30ft away from the Dragonflesh Abomination. He then uses his bonus action to cast Hunter's Mark and his action to attack with the longbow. The drake companion, not having received any command, automatically spends its turn taking the dodge action. If Sorjen's attack hits, he will use Infused Strikes.
Gryrim watches on as his colleagues unleash a torrent of attacks on the monstrosity. The whistling of arrow shafts, the thud of weapons hitting hide an the crackling of magical energy. "Ye hah!" he shouts with the enthusiasm of a child on a bucking pony. He releases yet another blast directed at the quasi-dragon.
A - EB Attack: 19 Damage: 10 force + 2 bludgeoning + 6 necrotic
(What happened to us after being hit by the breath weapon? We are declaring actions, fine, I really hope we all can go on... but if we got damaged and the damage is high, one or more of us might not be able to act at all...)
(OOC: Khessa is alive; I do not have the time to post properly at the moment, but wilk post soon. If the monster is dead already, we will be safe. With the healing potion Kan can be saved (if needed) and whe n Kan is up he can cast healings. Will post properly soon)
(Ev'alish has exactly 35 hp and failed his save - if it hadn't been for the 2 thp from his storm aura he'd be a goner.)
At the front of the group, Ev'alish spots the dying monster expelling the acid from its body in a last ditch effort. His feet think for him, and he throws himself in front of the acid stream, diverting most of it so that it splashes with less harm toward the others. His scales appear to be nearly dissolved, though some patches of frost cover the worst parts to keep him mostly standing upright. He drops to one knee, the pain excruciating.
"Ngh... the beast... is vanquished... Sorjen... use thy healing spell to save Kan and Kramyra... agh..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Khessa tries to fend off the effect of the cloud of acidic gas, but she is too surprised from the sudden apparition of the unexpected abomination and is about to collapse... When darkness seems ready to embrace her, she acts istinctively, tracing with her finger the quick pattern Kramyra, her tabaxi mentor wizard, helped her to learn.
Some of the power of the acid is absorbed in her blade, making it more lethal for the next attack... but, even more important, allowing the arcane warrior to remain conscious and ready to finish the fight! She summons all her determination to ignore pain...
(OOC: Second wind: Khessa regains 7 hp)
...and is ready to pay back the terrible beast!
She realizes that her companions finished the beast already. But at what price! Many are fallen, dying or... dead? She hopes not so. Not already. Khessa takes the healing potion she gave to Kramyra some time before and administers it to Kan.
(OOC: Kan regains 6 hp from the potion)
She remember that Kan is able to heal others... He might be able to save the other fallen Cabbage Patch Companions.
"Wake up Kan!" she urges "No time for sweat dreams now! Mistress Kramyra needs your attention!"
(OOC: Did not see the roll of Gryrim's save; if he failed, he is most likely down, else he should be good. But even if he is down, Kan should be able to heal him now)
