Khessa, according to the plan, plays the role of the scared bodyguard: "L-lord Gryrim!" she points with her finger at the charging horde "Look! W-what shall we do? They are too many! And too quick for the wagon! My lord... what...?"
She unsheates her greatsword, staggering out of the wagon, pretending the most total indecision (but she is in fact taking the dodge action: attack against her, should the horde be quick enough to reach the wagon, will be at disvantage. She staggers 'by chance' in a way to end up between Gryrim and the horde, so that the dwarf should be allowed to retreat to a safer position).
She whispers to her 'lord': "Lad! Remember the plan? Pretend to be a scared lord and flee. In fact, you'll reach a protected position and you'll range them as soon as I speak the agreed word".
Anyway, should the horde come in range of the flamethrower already, the tall arcane warrior will shout: "Cabbage!'" activating the ambush (and hopefully taking the enemies by surprise).
Ev'alish readies himself. He stays hidden until the command is given, then will rage followed by an activation of his breath weapon if the foes are close enough.
Khessa tries to assess quickly if the members of the horde are already close enough to be caught all in flamethrower's and Evalish's area of effect attacks.
If the enemies are close enough:
Khessa lowers her blue eyes, relaxing for a moment the grip on her greatsword and admitting: "You are too many, I can't fight you alone. That's why I'll tell you..." and her voice suddenly rises to a scream "... Cabbage!"
And as soon as all hell breaks loose, if she has a way to act because the enemies are surprised, as soon as the area attacks have decimated them, she attacks as well; otherwise she just defends herself.
if the enemies are NOT YET close enough:
Khessa is awed by the horde's numerical superiority, and, with a pleading air in her blue eyes, raises her head to the orc who spoke: "I-I'm Khessa, esteemed sir. I was commissioned by the wealthy merchant Lord Gryrim Goldbeard, honorable heir of house Goldbeard of Neverwinter" points with her thumb the dwarf behind her "to protect him and his riches" swallows uncomfortably, nodding to the illusory riches on the wagon. "You... you don't want to rob my lord of the gems and jewels on the wagon, do you? I know, it would be a quick and tempting task for you, but you have no right to do it... Plus... you see... ehm... I... would have been hired to defend..."
The greatsword trembles a little in her hands... however, the blonde arcane warrior stands ready to shout 'Cabbage!' as soon as the orcs get close enough.

Ev'alish bursts forth from the wagon! The foes aren't as bunched up yet and the dragonborn wants to take full advantage of the ambush, so he rages and lunges at range with his pike!

Khessa waits for the flamethrower to wreak havoc with his fire; after that she tries to take down the nearest injured opponent (moving a few steps, if needed).
Attack: 24 Damage: 9
The blonde arcane warrior takes then position in line with her beloved dragonborn, so that each can protect the side of the other. Galvanized by having managed to surprise the attackers, she feels ready to face any survivors and she takes care to let them know (hoping to draw the attention to herself): "Did you like my welcome, invaders!? Come to me, I still have SO MUCH to give you all..."
(OOC: Using her Action Surge to take yet another action: dodge - the attacks of the survivors against her will be made at disvantage)
Khessa did not hit with a 17? They are tough! Anyway, speaking of Gryrim...
Gryrim was supposed to run to a safe spot (like on a roof or behind something) then range the enemies. I think he lacks area damage attacks, so I'd have him Eldritch blast an injured enemy.

((A reasonable day, pain wise so let me))
Gryrim retreats back several steps as Khessa steps in and provides not only a distraction but a meat shield between him and the orcs. "Save me you hired swordarm. Earn ya keep" he barks the order to play along with the ruse. Just as the warrior woman shouts out the code word, Gryrim turns and unleashes magical energy directed the closest orc.
