Daveth looks bleary-eyed as he makes his way to the table, seeming as if he would rather still be asleep. He nods to each of them as he takes his seat, listening to the description of the potions while reaching for the pieces of meat that seem to be the rarest. As he chews his food he only slightly opens his mouth, doing his best to hide his sharp teeth.
"So we will be leaving this very morning I assume?"

Oridee is no stranger to disease. She had grown up poor, in the slums, and most of the people she knew had little money for heat, medicine, or even food. Many people lived outside in the elements, and the few ramshackle buildings in the neighborhood were overcrowded and poorly insulated. Disease bred and spread amongst the poor, and Oridee had buried friends each winter. She is glad that she had managed to escape the slums, and that now she is fortunate enough to afford food, and shelter, and even small extravagances. She is happy that the party has chosen to help heal the sick, and hopes that they are able to resolve whatever is plaguing the town.
When she comes downstairs, she sees most of the rest of the party sitting around a table, and joins them. She pours herself a hearty cup of breakfast ale, and adds some eggs to her plate.
When Daveth asks if they'll be leaving this morning, she replies, "I see no reason to delay much further. The sooner we leave, the sooner we'll be able to help them."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Breakfast completed, your troop heads out to the inns stable yards where you find 5 saddled horses with packs and supplies all split amoungst them.
You may each add 10 days rations to your character sheet. There is also the matter of the potions, the scroll, a first aid kit, and an herbalism kit....please decide amoungst yourselves how these are divvied up. You can do this in or out of character...either way is fine.
After giving a brief greeting to each of your horses, you mount up and head out. It is a pleasant day for a ride, the sun is shining and a wind blows from the southwest, bringing a fresh smelling air upon its billows. For the first few hours the road is wide and clear and you feel like you are making good time.
Since you have elected to ride hard in an effort to beat the storm, I would like a group animal handling check...everyone rolls your animal handling against a DC I set...the party's success/failure count will determine the DC con save the horses will have to make to avoid exhaustion at the end of the day. Since the horses are completely fresh and well rested today the DC for the animal handling is pretty easy, it is starting out at a 10.

Up to two party members that have elected to keep an eye out as you ride may make perception checks.
Edit to add: Actually with a stealth check of a natural 1 don't bother...the bandits are not hiding by anyones passive perception even.
As you come to the lip of a hill and look down into the next valley you catch a group of people just beginning to take cover in bushes along the margin of the trail. They do not seem to realize that you have noticed them...and you are about 100' away at this point still. It looked like there were 5 of them, and the way that they were arrayed and the fact that they are hiding from you does not make you feel like they are simple travelers.
After a moment nothing more seems to happen...it would appear they are either waiting for you to draw close or waiting for you to pass them by. What would you all like to do?
Giles brings his horse to a stop and points out the group arranged before them, clearly and ambush in the making. “Should we just attack them outright or should Friar Giles make an appearance, going to the orphanage to check on the children.” Giles appearance and demeanor change slightly, he doesn’t put on the full disguise but waits to hear what his companions think, casting guidance’on himself for Tymora’s blessing.
Daveth sighs and shakes his head as he sees the bandits, making sure to keep his horse calm as he looks to the others. "Well shall we deal with them now or attempt to move past them?"

"Attack a group of men who are merely suspicious, and have not been aggressive?" Meriele sits straight up on her horse, eyes aflame with radiance. "To punish crimes not yet committed should see the end of justice." She frowns and her vengeant demeanor softens. "Nor do I think we should play their game and set them a trap to entice them to commit a crime. We can array to protect ourselves, and call them out. They may very well be shaken, and easily intimidated from attempting to plunder us, if we confront them so while they believe that they have not been seen."
“Hmm, they way they are hiding, they don’t appear to friendly, probably won’t listen to me. What do you think, should we lob some crossbow bolts at them? They don’t seem to have noticed us yet..”
As Meriele speaks, Giles says, “Right. Good point. Pardon me a minute.”. He disguises himself as a more portly version of himself, plays the part of a Friar, with a kindly look on his face. He also touches Ellara and gives her the Blessing of the Trickster, giving her advantage on stealth rolls for the next hour.
Now Meriele is visibly angry, and the radiance that begins to burn from her skin and in her gaze actually start to feels hot, even from a distance. "I will not stand by while you attack men who have made no aggressive action."
Giles looks at Meriele with a thin smile and says “Fine. Why don’t you just ride on up and have a nice little chat with em dearie? I’ll wait right here for you and see how it turns out.” He gestures for you to ride on and give it your best go.
"Your pride is still dearer to you than the world," Meriele says, "that you would entice criminals to commit a crime to prove a point." She shakes her head. "It is a gift of providence that we saw them. This is a gift we can use to allay the opportunity for these men to do evil, but we must not do evil ourselves to prevent it." Meriele is silent as she looks over his friar disguise for a moment, and then looks around to include the others. "Let us ride together."
"I have way that could deal with them peacefully but it could also very well cause them to attack if they choose to stand their ground in favor of fleeing." Daveth says in a rather bland way, clearly not excited by the idea he proposes.

Meriele looks at Daveth, trying to discern what sort of method he is referring to, as the manner in which he describes it doesn't make it sound peaceful. "What way is this?" she asks.
While waiting for the others to respond, Meriele looks again down into the valley from the hill that they stand on the crest of. The group of men that they saw hiding themselves clearly do not want to be seen, but for what purpose it is hard to know. Are they being pursued? Or are they pursuers of spoils and unwary travelers? She tries to get a sense of the valley, of how easy it might be for the group to defend itself once in it or near the bushes that they saw the men hide in. Alternatively, if there is enough of a straight path that it would be possible to run the horses straight through and outpace anyone on foot.

"For a short period of time I am able to use my magic to take on an appearance that usually allows me to send those that see me running. It also helps in combat if it is needed." Daveth explains as he looks to her, his face still blank before turning back towards the group ahead of them.
Meriele nods in acknowledgment. "Convincing them, by whatever means, to not attack us seems the best option to me. We are a strange group... with strange abilities... which if displayed, may make the ordinary highwayman hesitate. If we also call them out, that we know their hiding place, they may be even more wary about the extent of our powers." Her gaze follows Daveth's blank expression. "But this use of your magic... it disturbs you?"
"I do not enjoy but it is useful so I will not complain if it is needed. I will worn you that it is not something for the faint of heart to see." Daveth says as he closes his eyes, seeming to focus internally.

"Perhaps it won't be necessary yet," Meriele says softly. "I too have manifested before a terrible and painful change from another plane. It is part of our curse, it seems. Yet may we find a way for it to be a blessing!"
She looks at the others. "Let's ride forward together and address them." With another look at Giles, who had previously bidden her to do so, she urges her horse forward down the hill.
Here is a map to give you a bit of an image of what is happening.
There is a cutaway hill to your north with steppes cut into it...the rocky bits are 10' up from the road. You know where the 5 are because you say them dart into hiding...but right now they do have half cover.
Because of the width of the free map I was able to find you are about 75' feet away from being in the middle of them. Please feel free to arrange yourself how you would like and let me know how close you approach before you pause or if you try to just ride all the way by.
You are all currently on riding horses, and you do not see any transport with them...so another option is to try to dart past them and bolt if you want to do that...
You are wanting to continue on the path heading east/north east rather than taking the turning. Honestly I would have liked a map that had a straight east west road...but couldn't find one. :D
