Caradoc follows closely beside Morgan, keeping one eye on her and the other out for danger as they travel back to the road. For once, he does not pester with questions or commentary - he just walks and watches and worries.

(OOC: Feel free to post what you are doing, talking about etc. I messages Berayas (Parkway). I have not heard back if he is even still playing. I may have to hunt for a new player.)
Morgan walks in silence with the rest of the group, still mostly lost in thought, although she does take note of Caradoc walking close at hand. Though she would normally scoff at him for his nagging persistence, in this case she is quietly grateful for his watchful eye.
Frixori, with her light spell on her new broach pinned her her cloak, follows behind somberly as well. Though having come into some small amount of treasure, seeing Grunden in the arms of the paladin is nothing to celebrate. Questions begin to rise in her mind and she thinks that this incident is definitely just the beginning to something bigger.
As the party continues on the path back towards the main road, the leather armor that Frixori wears begins to irritate her. So much so that she has to stop and remove it. Upon doing so, she hears a voice in her mind, much like when Morgan talks to the group, this one more familiar. You will not need that for now. You ask for more help, then you shall have it.Suddenly her crystal around her neck begins to glow faintly. A bubble of radiant energy appears around the tiefling which immediately begins to collapse and form itself around her body - giving her a feeling of increased heartiness. She holds her arms up examining the spell's effects, and it nods her approval to her unseen patron. She tosses her leather over her shoulder and hurries to catch back up with the party. Thanks!
(The eldritch invocation Armor of Shadows gives me Mage Armor, but instead of shadows I imagine it to be a light/radiant shield)
I assumed we'd divide up the coin once we get somewhere where we can exchange the copper for silver or gold, and let folks work out the items on their own. Caradoc will probably sell the baubles and donate the money to a poorhouse in either Phandelin or Neverwinter or whatever is our next bit of civilization

OOC: I'm just holding onto the broach for now but anyone else can use it if they'd like. One of us casters should take it since it has a spell save DC on the polymorph. I was going to inform the party about it when we camped - don't think we can make it to town too quickly. As far as the scrolls, I think Gelin is the only who can use those. I say we just evenly divide the coin for now.
I like Caradoc's suggestion of waiting until we can exchange the copper at least. But if we're doing that, how is the coin being transported for now until we get back to the wagon?
We divide the coin evenly but I suggest to add one “party” slot, so we have a pool of money to use to pay the expenses of the whole party like paying the inn or tho buy healing potions... that kind of things.
Healing Word is a Bard spell, but Lightning Bolt is not, unless he takes it as a Magical Secret later on. So, unless one of us MCs into Sorcerer or Wizard, or Caradoc goes Arcane Trickster (not likely LOL), it may end up being something we can barter for something useful.
Caradoc will also be willing to spend his share of loot to help others acquire useful gear :)

If Gundren's brothers are willing to pay us what is owed, I'd even be willing to push all the coin from the caves into that party fund

For now, until I hear back one way or the other from Parkway, we will move on with the story. For now, we will assume he did what he said he would do and take the cart into the village about 4 hours walk from where you left it.
As the group breaks through the wooded area, avoiding the pitfall Carodoc discovered in the beginning of their adventure, it takes about 2 hours by their reckoning to make it through the trail. Carrying all the weight, trying to navigate the game trail in full on autumn night with cloudy skies, and carrying 2 dead bodies and all the loot has left them exhausted. (I would say that everyone carrying something heavy has 1 point of exhaustion... anyone carrying a 40 pound kid around for 2 hours at an amusement park knows what i am talking about... Much less after all nearly dying and fighting for your lives...)
By your reckoning it is an hour or 2 shy of midnight by the time you get through the clearing. Hopes of seeing the horse cart are dashed when you see the 2 dead horses that were left at the side of the road, but no draft horse and cart. It is about this time you remember Baryeras saying he would lead the horse to Phanadrin and leave it at the inn.
Caradoc walks past the dead animals, startling the crows that were eating their eyes. He doesn't notice, though -- he's dead on his feet but won't quit. He bumps gently into the back of whoever stops in front of him and yawns. "Oh... hey... are we there yet?" He slumps down beside the road and snores softly.

Gelin has donned the studded leather armor that the half-dragon was wearing, which now somehow looks like a black robe with delicate violet filigree across the sleeves. He carries what is asked of him as they walk back to the cart path.
After the long walk and coming again upon the scene of the two dead horses, Gelin states,"Welp, think its 'bout time we find a nice place an make camp. It's been a long day, and we have a long walk tomorrow."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Morgan bends down to gently nudge Caradoc awake after he stumbles into her.
*Hey, hang in there just a bit more. Help us get camp set up, then you can rest all you like.*
Morgan will do whatever is asked of her by the group to help get some semblance of a camp set up. Her brain overload has ebbed to tolerable levels at this point, but she's still not much of a conversationalist, even less so than she usually is.
Survival Check to find a suitable clear space to set up camp: 7
(Alternatively, she'll assist anyone else who wants to make such a check, giving them advantage.)

Incidentally, I don't think anyone has said what we'd rather do with the treasure. How DO we want to work that out?
