(You can roll Wisdom(Thieves' Tools) with advantage, since I assume thieves' tools would have some sort of apparatus for assisting with safes, like a stethoscope-like device or something else like that. Also, Elven Accuracy only works with attacks.)
After a few minutes, Xilbella and Soren manage to narrow down the combination, and eventually the safe unlocks with a click, and slides open. There are several things inside. Many of them are useless, such as a load of legal documents. They don't provide any of the insights that the Talechasers' Guild would be interested in, and would be of more use as firestarters. Even more than the tomes of the Great Library, which, while also largely unhelpful, have at least a little more to say than these.
On the left side of the upper shelf, there is a very small potion rack, in which there are three small bottles, filled with assumedly magical liquid. Two are filled with a greyish fluid, with wisps of white flowing through it, and the third is filled with a sort of amber-gold solution.
On the right side of the upper shelf, there is a small box with two compartments. In one, there is a necklace, in the other a ring. They are both adorned with some sort of clear gemstone, potentially diamond or just a lookalike.
On the bottom, along with the documents, there is a boxy sort of device. It has several knobs on the top, as well as a sort of short tube on the end. On the opposite end of the tube there is a small, circular hole. Both tube and hole have glass set in them.
"Well old friend, our adventuring days are done. We can finally retire in luxury with these unbelievably important 'divorce papers' finally secured!" He lets out a soft chuckle at his own joke, almost as quiet as his whispered words. "Though, I am loath to waste paper." He collects everything - including the legal documents - and places it all in his bag of holding.
(( Unless someone has identify, because I totally don't! If they do, assume he hands off whatever items they have the ability and desire to identify. ))
Xilbella would not allow the unidentified items to be simply stuffed into a bag. "We need to know what these do." She says, stopping them from being shoved into the bag. Turning to the others she would ask the entire group... "Do any of you have the means to magically determine these item's properties?" She has the various potentially-magical items laid out in front of her.
Luna sighs at the sorrowful sight before him and says to himself, "The poor fools. I'm sorry we can't do much for ya, but I promise we're working towards a world where others won't have to suffer your fate." The half-elf then notices the rusty revolver on the nightstand. He pauses a moment, pondering if taking a weapon with such history was deemed ok but relents and takes it anyway. The cowboy places the revolver into an empty holster on his right thigh.
Luna enters the room containing everyone else just as Xilbella and Soren crack open the safe. Those observing his entry easily notice the rusty revolver, as all of his other holsters have been empty since their departure into the inner city. Luna lets out a whistle in a 'well would you look at that' sort of tone and responds to Xilbella's question, "I do not, but if these items are of import then I reckon we can take it back to the guild for identification."
Luna then unholsters the rusty revolver, with a pointer finger in the trigger guard he spins the firearm a few time. "Also, I found this upstairs. I can shoot a firearm alright, but the ones I use are more, er, arcane. Ain't know bullets in'it but if anyone wants it, feel free." Luna extends the offer to all but looks primarily at Xilbella as, judging by her gear, she had an affinity towards these sort of weapons.
Soren sees the revolver and nods approvingly. "Good find! Xilbella, if you'd prefer that weapon let me know, I can mend it and move the enchantments over to it by morning."
After hearing no one had a means to detect, or identify, magic, Xilbella would frown but nod. "Let us store these away then..." She hands them back to be placed in the portable hole with the others. "Let us get some rest. Who would like to take what watch?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I'll take first watch. Once y'all got the rest of watch order set up, feel free to rest up," Luna says. The half-elf waits a moment in case anyone else has anything to say before grabbing a chair in the kitchen and setting it beside a window that faces the front of the house. Making sure that he is outside of immediate view, Luna sits down in the chair and looks through the window to keep watch.
Soren looks to Luna. "By all means, wake me up for second watch." He then proceeds to secure the things found into his bag of holding and prepare to settle in for a rest.
The day passes without much consequence. The party occupies themselves however they please, as they wait for the daylight to fade. Occasionally gazing out of the house, the watchers can see the weeds undulating, budding, endlessly growing. Corrupted, aberrant life, nature twisted into evil. Walkers clamber up the walls of the houses to position themselves on the roofs, gazing into the sun, feeding off its rays. Their heads slowly twist, following its path. At one point, Soren has to duck back inside, closing the window carefully, attempting to avoid the attention of a passing Man-Grove. The creaks of its root-limbs soon fade away, and when Soren reopens the window he can see shuffling off, heads lolling. Eventually, the sunlight disappears behind the Wall, and the stars begin winking into existence. The Weed-Walkers slow, then stop entirely, their upper bodies folding over as they slip back into their bizarre standing hibernation. The night is come, and the journey is begun.
Navigator, please give me a survival check, if the party has nothing to do before departing.

(Xilbella should make the rolls then)
Xilbella rolled a 25 with dex use of thieve's tools on her sheet. Subtract 2 from that if we are required to have used wis instead of dex.
