Backstory(please keep it somewhat short. I won't read a whole novella): Carasin was born in a rural mountainside village to a single human mother. His father was a tiefling drifter who had already vanished from the area before his mother was even aware she was with child. She worked hard to raise Carasin, but the narrow minded folk of her small town rural home did not take kindly to one of infernal blood lingering among their kin. Fearing for her son's safety, she made a desperate plea with a holy order in a large trading city built into the mountain pass that connected her small village to civilization at large. In spite of his blood and his appearance, the church agreed to raise him and train him in exchange for his services and a tithe from his mother. Carasin showed promise as both an acolyte of the faith and as a stalwart warrior. His capabilities grabbed the attention of a senior among his order, who took him under his wing at a young age. Carasin learned much under the tutelage of this dwarf paladin. After years of martial training, study of religious doctrine and history, and focusing all his youthful energy into the productive skill of blacksmithing under his clan's teachings, Carasin was finally given permission to strike out on his own. When the letter in question reached his hands, the Tiefling felt as if this was the chance he needed to prove that all his effort and all his teachers' efforts had paid off. If he succeeded here then he'd have the means to pay back the church for its kindness and to prove himself to his teacher. He set out without a doubt in his mind.
Backstory(please keep it somewhat short. I won't read a whole novella): "Sir" William Bronson von Confeorm is a pennyless Noble whoes family was stripped of land and title. Prior to falling from grace will was trained to be a knight and took up magic as a hobby. Now poor he has combined the two to help him in his new life as a mercenary.

Backstory: Broxin was brought up thinking he was a small dragonborn, raised by his larger kin. He searches for answers as to why he doesn't feel like he doesn't fit in with the rest, asides from his size, the Dragonborn don't shy away from the light like he does. In his quest for finding answers he studied and studied. He found that he was a kobold and felt like he was tricked by the Dragonborn, so he decided to forge his new path. He got into the thieves guild which treated him like any other. From the guild he studied along side a college who posed the question "What secrets are held by the ones that are lost?" This is a question from a college of Broxin's that is always on his mind. He wants to learn more about the past to help shape the future.
Oh, interesting campaign idea. I'd love to see where it goes :)
Name: Tess
Class (and subclass): Ranger (Drakewarden) 3/ Wizard (Scribe) 3
Race (and subrace): Changeling
Background: Custom Background (following guideline from Basic Rules)
Backstory:
Tess is a painter who works under the alias, Canvas. His art is strongly influenced by his own life experiences. Luckily with his changeling abilities and skills in infiltration, Tess has been able to live the life of all sorts of people. This has allowed his artwork to be incredibly varied in subject and themes while still being genuine and sincere. As a result, his artwork has gained a lot of traction amongst nobles and commonfolk alike. All the while, no one knew the true identity of Canvas.
It was not a hard decision to make when Tess received invitation to come to Stormwyn, a land teeming with countless new experiences. Tess was going to indulge himself in all that Stormwyn had to offer, and use everything at his disposal to create his next masterpiece.

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

Characters start at level 6. All subclasses and certified WotC content is allowed, NO homebrew. Expected posting is about 2-3 times a day (if we are in combat, that might speed up a little. I like to keep my battles quick and intense). Player Buy In: A lot of it will be exploration and roleplay. Magic items are a little more common than you'd expect. It will be very cool. Ability scores can be rolled or standard array.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Urbanus was also one of the kids investigating everything, so when he could apprentice at an inventor he of course took that option right away. This inventor learned him to use magic through his tools, and helped him with his first version of his armor. Now he has been travelling the ruins to find new materials, new ways, new items to further improve his armor. With his final goal being to create the ultimate stealthy armor.

Name: Jasmine
Class: Ranger, Horizon Walker
Race: Earth Genasi (theming her as more nature-based, but no mechanical changes)
Background: Outlander
Backstory: Jasmine's always known she had one purpose, the same purpose her parents and the rest of their tribe had: to protect the world from a portal to the Far Realm that had opened years ago deep in the forest. She was learning how to shoot a bow almost as soon as she could walk, and knew how to fight an aberration by the time she hit double digits. It was a difficult, thankless job, but Jasmine was taught one thing more than anything--someone has to do this, and better them than anyone less capable.
But Jasmine is tired. She doesn't want to spend her life fighting, and she doesn't want to make the next generation do it, either. So she's on a mission to make a real difference, by finding a way to close the portal for good. It won't be easy, but someone has to do it, and better her than anyone less capable.
And if this job can get her the resources to be able to really find something, then this job is what she's doing.
Class(and subclass): Paladin, Oath of the Ancients
Race(and subrace): Warforged
Background: Outlander
Backstory(please keep it somewhat short. I won't read a whole novella): Green takes his name from the first thing he remembers. He awoke in a pit grown over with moss, vines and leaves, a large, ancient sword by his side. Climbing out of the pit he ventured into the world, needing no food or sleep. He knew nothing about himself, or the world, but as he encountered people in villages and towns, he learned that he was very different. Those willing to speak with him were able to tell the legends of the warforged, machines of war constructed in the old days of Stormwyn. However he felt no call to war, or violence. Instead, during those many long years in the pit, something of the force of Nature itself had taken root, and he felt the call to protect it, light and goodness. Although he does not need sleep as he understands it described by humans, he does occasionally rest. During these times the force of Nature in him calls up feelings of danger and warning, and strange images he does not understand but which fill him with unease. For a number of years he wandered the continent, following the call to protect goodness wherever he found it, until one day he found himself in the city of Acriseon. Entering a tavern, the barkeep called to him. "I've got a letter here for 'the large metal man', they told me. Don't know how they knew you'd be here, and I don't really want to know. Take the letter."
Backstory(please keep it somewhat short. I won't read a whole novella): Krondorl's immediate family never spoke of his ancestors, and when asked, they would change the subject. It wasn't until he started displaying strange talents that the full truth of his sorcerous heritage came out. Krondorl served in the army for several years in a special forces unit. He eventually left the army after his entire unit was wiped out to the incompetence of the generals and noble's leadership. His allegiance is to himself and his unit and no one else, but he currently has no unit.
