Vars walks along at the head of the company with an easy confidence. He nods to Sparhawk when he joins him.
Upon reading the wanted poster, his eyes light up and his hand inadvertently strays to one of his swords. He says to Sorsha, "Yes, perhaps after this job we should pursue this Weevil fellow. Unless of course another opportunity arises." He nods, "Though there is always a chance we could run into the Weevil, wouldn't hurt to take him out if we got the chance." He pulls off the poster for the missing mage, "At least we know Irongrass isn't the missing wizard. Perhaps we'll find out what kind of reward he's willing to offer if we can track down this...Infernal fellow. I'd imagine finding him would pay well seems how he's an Arcane Brother."

Vars takes note of the light on the water, seemingly unconcerned.
Bjorn has a spark of remembrance. Many years ago there was a traveling fair with exotic animals and acrobatic demonstrations. They had a powerful mage that would travel with them, giving shows of arcane power. The rumor was this was designed as a recruiting tool for the Arcane Brotherhood, as every lad in the far off villages and cities alike that had even a spark of magic talent would clamor to meet “Abernath the Infernal”
Remembering one such show you witnessed, you think maybe Infernal was a flashy stage name, to push the drama. Abernath was known to be very kind and did much to help those of lesser station. as far as the Weevil, you have heard of his terrifying murders. Viscous, bloodthirsty torturer….the picture captures his wild eyes perfectly.
Eberk doesn’t recall any of the names, but he too can see the odd light on the water. The fog lessens just a bit for a second and he thinks he can see a partial outline of a dinghy of some sort.
Vars recalls hearing about some grizzly murders in Mirabar a few months back, but doesn’t know of the details. He makes the connection with this Weevil character. He never heard of Abernath the infernal.
Good info. Lets move on before we call undo attention to ourselves. Stay alert my friends!" Sparhawk says, alert to the types of people that generally lurk at night. [Perception check for anyone watching us or following us] 9 with darkvision.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Vars is also watching for suspicious activity around them. Though not particularly worried about an ambush as of yet, he tries to be as aware of his surroundings as possible at all times, especially in the dark. Perception: 18
You decide to keep moving. You find similar flyers on Dock 3 and just as your about to head to the 4th dock you hear some exclaim “ I got one, I got one…hah!” From out of the fog.
The voice shatters the silence and peace of the night. Soon after you hear a man screaming…
”Aaaaahhhhhghh! “ along with splashing sounds. another voice screams out “ No, no, don’t, Ahhh!”
then just as suddenly the silence returns. A few moments later, you hear some bells clanging from the tower at the wall, followed by smaller bells on the moored ships, sounding an alarm signifying an attack of some sort is in progress. Sorsha is all too familiar with that sound and the bad memories it pulls to the fore.
At the sound of the scream, Vars immediately unslung his bow from his back and whipped a few arrows out of his quiver, ready to speed knock if necessary. "Perhaps, but this could also mean trouble. We should also keep our distance from the water." He looks to where Sorsha had pointed out the light in the water to see if it is gone. He's guessing that the owners of that light were a couple of fishermen, who may have just been attacked by a sea monster.
Eberk readies his shield. He turns to the group. "I agree. We should move quickly." The gemstone eyes on his holy symbol begin to glow dark blue. Looking at them, they seem to show faint spots of white light that match the stars overhead.
Always on alert, his duty to protect his friends clear, Sparkhawk looks for what others don't see. His trained battle senses ready for anything.[perception check: 11"Keep your eyes open people! Keep sharp."
When the torch illuminates the approximate area where the light formally was you can see the dinghy bobbing in the waves. You can see what looks like an arm draped over the edge of the gunnels. The light is out.
the docks begin to fill will sailors exiting their ships. Weapons in hand and lanterns. They are scanning for any sign of danger near their respective boats and along the edges of the docks themselves. A small group, spots the dinghy and you can see them trying to hook it with a gaff to pull it to the dock.
Another group is coming down the boardwalk of dock 4. as of yet, no one has seemingly spot you on the beach.
"Yes, let's move on now crew."Sorsha says quickly, pushing forward, trying to make sure the crew move together and not losing their focus on potential ambushes.
(Maybe a bit slow here but would Sorsha know what kind of creature is attacking the harbour?)

( no, a sea creature attacking the harbor is unusual and strange event)
you all move on carefully, yet quickly. The area between dock 3 and beyond changes from the mix of sand and grass into mostly boulders and rock. There is a clear walking path made from years of activity and likely some magical assistance.
You get to dock 4 just as the the group of sailors reaches the pathway. They look rough and tumble and are led by a large human, shaved head with 3 rings pierced through the left side of his face. 2 in the cheek and one in the brow. He is armed with a cutlass, the others have a mix of spears and swords. The lead says to you “ Oi, you there! D’ya see what the ruckus’ about?”
"Some ceature of the sea attacked over at dock 3, you should hurry though." Sorsha says quickly, trying to divert their attention from the crew. Persuasion/Deception: 23 (rolled with advantage if someone supports her, help action, otherwise go with first roll.)

“This distraction is the perfect time to move forward people” Sparhawk suggests, seeing an opportunity and luck on their side.

" Dog, Weevil, Wizard......all problems for later."
Frangipanis hackles went up as the bells sounded though.
She began moving forward...as carefully as possible in a group of big noisy people.

"An attack from the water?" Bjorn approximates the direction to the fishermen, and throws his torch in a high arc, hoping to reveal the enemy.
He then grasps his club in both hands and scans the edges of the torchlight. [Perception, disadvantage:] 6

You also notice a trail of bubbles leading under the dock
[Dock 4 is the direction we're moving. Hope this group doesn't stop us.]

Frangipani actively suppressed her natural curiosity to dive in and see what was up as they moved toward the docks.

[I only see one roll. Unless the two rolls are concatenated? Like one was a 2 and there other a 5? I truly have no idea.]
