Sparhawk looks for a secret door, moved carpet, cabinet out of place. Uses darkvision if needed:
(Investigation: 12)
Roll a dex check when you move the carpet dc 15
Vax enters first and heads toward the open archway into the kitchen it a rectangular room of about 12’x10’. There is a fireplace on the right hand / outer wall a table along the left side wall with breakfast still sitting there. The chair is slightly askew of the table. One odd thing you notice is the food looks fresh, even though the dust on the plate and table indicates it’s been there for a long time. The plate contains some kind of bread, a hunk of cheese. Two and 1/2 fried eggs and some kind of sausage.
there is a pantry cabinet and some shelves contains dishes and some pots and other kitchen essentials. On the northern facing wall there is another door that is shut. On the southern wall is a large painting of the Arcane Tower weathering a mighty storm. Large waves crash against the shore, in the distance you can see what look like ships being torn apart by the winds and waves. The eyes on the tower are painted red with a glow, and from the painting you can see what Irongrass was talking about. At the base of every tower along with the large one on the entry door, there are the same carved eyes with red jewels at the center. The painting is expertly rendered and likely to be quite valuable.
while there is dust and cobwebs, the kitchen is in good order and there is a good amount of light from an unseen source.
(OOC: Okay, yeah. I realized that that was probably to much for one roll. For some reason I thought I would be dealing with only one room...)
Vars frowns at the somehow preserved breakfast, and also at the chair. He had been so sure...oh well. Shaking his head as Bjorn pokes the egg, his frown deepens, "I don't know what that has to do with a missing wizard, but it is defiantly odd. Why would he enchant his food to stay fresh?" He lifts up the plate, moving it over slightly.
(Does the chair look like it was moved by whomever came to look for Aberanth? Also, is there an obvious place where other food would be stored inside the kitchen?)
Bjorn puts the fork in a piece of sausage and raises it to eye level. He squints, trying to force himself to taste it. He puts it back down and shakes his head. "I have no idea."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Frangipani became bored of standing guard at the door in about 11 seconds, give or take.
Wandering inside she ignored the kitchen and then turned to see Sparhawk with a carpet wrapped around him, " What are you doing? Wait...are you ok? Evil Rug?"
" Hold still!"
Frangipani drew her scimitar and swung at the rug, trying not to hit Sparhawk....but, honestly, not too fussed if she did.
"Be careful or you'll slice him up."Sorsha says quickly to Frangipani. "Hey, Vars, snap out of it! Sparhawk is in trouble." She says as she tries to tear the rug off the half-orc.
(Not sure if I should roll anything or if Sorsha, preferably, could give a help action to Sparhawk trying to get the rug off him.)
Bjorn looks around for the heaviest object nearby to drop on the carpet, to pin it down. Perhaps a bookshelf or sofa, I'm not sure which room this is in.
Sparhawk is able to pull the carpet far enough off his face and give Frangipani a clear path to cut with her Scimitar. The blade slices through the wool and the carpet ceases its animated state and falls to the ground in two halves
the entry way is now quiet, except for Sparhawks heavy breathing..

(Is everyone inside and did you close the door?)
[Seems likely. Unless someone's keeping watch at the door, maybe.]
Bjorn is fascinated by the preserved breakfast. He'll pick up a knife or fork from the table and poke at the fried eggs, wondering if they're real.
Bjorn pokes at the eggs and they feel like they just came out of the pan, a little bit of yolk dribbles onto the plate

Sparhawk shuts the front door and locks it. Please roll my Dex roll for the carpet.

[IIRC, Sparhawk has +2 Dex, so it would be:] 9
Dex16
Sparhawk reaches down to lift the carpet to see what’s underneath and it springs up, wraps around his face. He is unable to see or breathe
Once the door is shut, the interior seems to look much larger than the exterior would allow for.
the chair looks like it would if you got up from the table or were about to sit down. There is a wooden pantry/cabinet you could look through
(Can I do a strength check to break grapple)? HELP!!
Vars looks through the cabinet to see if any of the other food is preserved like the food on the plate.
See post 510
Inside the cabinet there are various supplies. Some loads of bread, fruit and vegetables and cheese rounds. All in perfect condition
Yes, you can. DC 15

Sparhawk is quite surprised by this animated demon carpet. He can’t breath or call out. He calms himself and tries to break free. (Strength 14
