"This crate has a lid a bit open. I'm gonna take a look." Sparhawk takes out a javelin and messes with the lid, hoping to push it off and see what happens. He holds his breath (in case of poison) and also prepares for something to attack.
Sparhawk’s javelin easily moves the lid off of the crate and it falls to the floor. He can see what looks like the underside of a pair of boots sticking up. And as he gets closer to take a look he can see those boots are attached to someone.
"Oh no."Sorsha says, stepping closer to take a look down the crate to see who the pair of boots is attached to, if it could be their missing wizard even. Perception if needed: 24
( you will have to pull him out to get a good look)
you pull the corpse from the crate. It’s very stiff and has been stuffed in there a long time. It is a small fellow, pointy ears and bald head and an eye patch. His skin stretched tightly over his skull. In all probability this was a goblin. His clothing looks like maybe a servant of some sort, a little more fancy than your average goblin would wear. There is a dagger trapped between his ribs and it looks as if he had been garotted.
After pulling out the goblin corpse, you bumped into one on the “dangerous “ crates, it slide over a bit and Sorsha’s keen perception picked up what looks like the edge of a dug out tunnel beneath that crate
“I’m guessing our little friend was a servant or assistant” Sparhawk surmises. “Clearly he was murdered, which leads me to think our wizard was taken” (investigation of clothes for any clues or keys 16
"Two goblin servants in two days? Is that just a normal thing nowadays? Have I been living under a rock? I thought no one trusted these little bastards."
Bjorn begins opening another of the unlabeled crates. "Looks like two killers, too. What's he doing here?"
"Not sure why someone would bother to hide him though but I guess you could be right."Sorsha says, nodding as Sparhawk checks the goblin. She then turns her attention to the tunnel that she accidentally discovered, carefully moving the crate above it to see how big it seems, if it is big enough to move a wizard through it, and where it could lead. "I wonder if someone entered by this tunnel, but it would be hard for them to cover the tunnel as they left perhaps."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sparhawk also inspects the dagger (anything distinguishable about it, and trying to surmise the hand size of the strangulation (inspection : 21 such as orc made, etc.
" Murdered servant, missing wizard, tunnel too small...or at least too hard to drag the wizard through...though they may have had an alternate means of escape...a scroll or such...."
" I can head down the tunnel and see what I see."

[Oh, I forgot about the pickles. This guy must really love pickles.]
Guess we can pop open the non-dangerous crates. We've got a couple of crowbars.

"Oh oh. Who can this be?" Sparhawk says, a bit concerned.
"What in the Nine Hells..."

Bjorn begins opening another of the unlabeled crates. "Looks like two killers, too. What's he doing here?"
Inside his pocket you find a folded paper with goblin writing on it, a broken key ring with no keys, 5gp, 20sp, 80cp in a little pouch
“Anyone read goblin?”

The tunnel is approximately 2’-3’ diameter
(Which would make it really hard if not impossible for a human adult to get through it right?)
[That goblin we met at Dock 9 didn't happen to wear an eye patch, did he?]
[Bjorn can read common and a bit of sylvan.]
A human could get through it, just be uncomfortable. Would be hard to force someone through
( nope, he didn’t and this goblin has been here quite some time)
