"Maybe the druids want the formula for Mornlyf to fight the clerics back home," Sam ponders under his breath afyer Sol brings up the concept. "Could explain some of the weirdness..."
"Destroy the paper or not," Sam then follows up louder, "Muir will remember it. He never forgets..."
"And here is where the coffins were," Sam says directing the others to the room and indicating the obvious. "The vamp I offed here was sleeping. Maybe already killed elsewhere and reborn here? I don't know how all that works, exactly, so I figured I would bust it all to be on the safe side. We should probably look into getting some holy water if there is ever a chance. Considering how lousy with bloodsuckers this realms suddenly is..."
"Ok, so what is the plan now?", Vin asks as he wanders around the room that had the vampire in it, checking to see if there is anything Sam missed. "Just a quick once over to make sure we haven't missed anything and then out to see the state of play? Is this the only mornlyf factory? What about the fact that there are already so many vials in the hands of our enemies? Are we not going to look for a way to counter it? Some sort of cold resistance might work, if it freezes the heart, for example. Not that I want to test it personally".
"Did the notes say anything about limitations of creatures it affects? Or any that have immunity to it?".
So many unanswered questions swam through his mind.
As Muir starts to wander back to burn what they read about Mornlyf, Sam pipes up with a question. “Shouldn’t we want to at least know the ingredients before we burn the cookbook?” He asks. “To know what stockpiles to destroy and what to watch out for and such?” Maybe Muir knows already but Sam doesn’t trust to that… or him.
Sam doesn’t stop Muir but raises the question so others can decide if they should…
“There is also the Troll Room and Dried Ingredients Room,” Sam adds to Vin as they check out the Vampire Room. “Not much left to see in them though if you’d rather get outside quicker…”
Sol squints his eyes at Muir as the loxodon agrees and immediately moves to follow orders. (Insight on Muir 20)
As Muir leaves, Sol doesn't move to interrupt but does listen to Sam, "clerics and druids? There are hostilities on your plane too then. If he remembers everything he reads then that might play to our advantage, but the main concern I have there is of those designs end up in the wrong hands. Though saying that we have no idea how many copies might be out there..." He thinks for a moment, "the stockpiles of mornlyf on other isles is a problem shenoh will have to solve, but to my knowledge this is the only production facility in the realm. It is not a poison that is used everyday, only alloted to those going out on excursions where fighting kobolds and dragon cultists might occur..."
Griff joins vin to look around the secret room and turns his beak up at the stinking pile of post vampire ichor on the floor, "having no resting place to be returning to will be assuring they can be being killed directly yes? How many of these secret rooms are you thinking might be out there? 800,000 undead but we are not knowing how many are being spawn and how many are being full like that dwarf"
Vin looks at Griff, wondering if he was asking those questions generally or specifically to him. If it is the latter, he will shrug, he had enough unanswered question of his own to have a clue about the answers to Griff's.
"So many unknowns. We need to get back to Shenoh and regroup", he says sighing.
"Mind you, the one thing we can be more sure of now, is that Elthana dying gets them what they want. I half thought that was a bluff in truth".
"Hostilities on every plane, I imagine," Sam replies to Sol but mostly ignores everything else he says. If nobody else feels a need to stop Muir from destroying the papers then so be it. The fact that Muir left the papers behind when the group was leaving is suspicious in itself... But Sam realizes the rest of the group doesn't share his concerns about the Loxodon and only grow more hostile to himself for speaking them.
"I've no real knowledge about vampire," Sam answers Griff with a shrug. "Some stories to scare kids but nothing reliable. But I figured busting up their resting place couldn't be a bad thing..." He pauses and considers for a moment. "I don't suppose every vampire could have a hidden coffin stashed away somewhere. Too many, if there really are eighty thousand... Too many secrets, it would leak out..."
Already having been here Sam is a bit restless to move on. "So we visiting other rooms or finding a way back to Shenoh or...?"
Muir comes back looking for the group and stops in the vampire room. He looks at the vampire to see if they look familiar. He looks around for any clues on liches, phylacteries, or who the vampire is.
If anyone is in the room he will tell them that the papers are burned.
Griff joins vin to look around the secret room and turns his beak up at the stinking pile of post vampire ichor on the floor...
Also, from Sam's channel on discord: "A hiss of air cones from the neck stump a little too late and the vampires head and body begin to sizzle, melting into the black ichor you have seen before." Which obviously none but me saw but *shrug* just so you know... I think the dwarf too may have gooed? I would need to page back and find it though...
Post 5626 - "As Sam's axe swings and grapple keep the dwarf in place and hurting, the scorpion does enough damage, particularly with it's stinger that the dwarf's eyes start to roll into the back of it's head. It laughs and laughs as it's body starts to dissolve into mist, trying to relocate to its place of rest to recuperate. It is only when the mist turns to ash and then to blackened ichor that the dwarf stops laughing, burned by the sunlight imbued in Sol's spell. Sam loses grapple on him and as he succumbs to death, the dwarf eeks out something quiet."
So yeah, seems this planes Vampires goo or ichor out...
As the others file out towards the ingredients room, Vin watches Sol as he goes, finding something a little off. He seems distracted, and now he thinks back, his demeanour during the fight with Mori was strange. All the shouting and cursing. And if there really are 800,000 undead roaming around the island of Shenoh, and he is a powerful cleric, how could he not notice?
He wonders whether to mention something to the others but he decides to wait for now. He does glance towards Neferox though.
Following Sam, he yet again leads the group, passing several doors you all come to a door which Sam points out. Opening it up you are all met with the sickly sweet smell of burnt flesh along with an underlying lingering scent of blood. In this room there are large 6ft vats seemingly filled with spoiled blood, the walls are lined with pipes which are still slightly cold but losing their temperature fast. As Sam point to an adjoining room therein strapped to the wall are two ice Trolls restrained by large loops around their necks and wrists mounted to the wall, most of their bodies are burnt and there are large maul wounds in their heads, the remnants of a fire below them, and pipes now dry inside lead from the center mass of their chests, up and over toward the vats in the other room.
(Anyone can examine the corpses with an investigation check)
(Sam will give the Trolls a short look over just to ensure they are not regenerating again... 18-1 for 17)
"They spoke some Giant," Sam says to Ö in that language. "Could they be locals? Know anything about them at all?"
Besides that Sam looks at some of the damage done to the pipes and the vats and such and "Tsk Tsk"s over it as if he knows nothing bout it at all at all.
Vin also wanders around the room and takes a look at the trolls, wondering how long they must have been kept barely alive in he having their blood drained.
"not common at all, this is my first time seeing one in my life, I just wish it was under better circumstances" Sol answers holding their cuff up to their nose in disgust at the smell, "these poor unfortunate creatures..." He mutters to himself.
Ömertyr stands near the door leaning against the frame and answers Sam,
"yeah trolls tend to do that, speak giant I mean, they learn it young, they're not dumb but they are short tempered, usually gets them into trouble, though regeneration normally gets them out of that trouble. Nasty bastards sometimes. That's why there ain't many left, not exactly good neighbours, but that's just their nature."

Muir nods to Sol "Absolutely. I will burn it." He turns around to head back to the area he found the information to burn it.

"hmm, yes show us the ingredient rooms Sam" Sol asks, seemingly his thoughts on something else.
Muir comes back looking for the group and stops in the vampire room. He looks at the vampire to see if they look familiar. He looks around for any clues on liches, phylacteries, or who the vampire is.
If anyone is in the room he will tell them that the papers are burned.
Sam would linger until Muir returns so that they don't lose him. "The Vampire is that there goo," Sam points out. "Recognize them?"
"I did find a ring and a small bone knife," he mentions. "They're in my bag. We can examine them later..."
Once everyone is ready he will indeed take them to the Troll Room.
Muir nods to Sam and checks the goo…He’s never heard of vampires turning to goo before, dust maybe but not goo
Also, from Sam's channel on discord: "A hiss of air cones from the neck stump a little too late and the vampires head and body begin to sizzle, melting into the black ichor you have seen before."
