(Apologies for not being clearer, if their attack roll hits, the target is both Grappled and Restrained. I'll note it fully next time.)
Mala struggles against the vines but is unable to break free. With a few words her spell is cast and she is acutely aware of the creature, how its vines twist and move, the way they connect back to the creature itself, and she feels sure that if she could just land a hit she would be able to damage it that little more deeply.
Faera can indeed attempt to attack the creature currently gripping her in its vines, but unfortunately the attack misses - held too tightly to get her sword into a good position, green fire flares along the blade but fades just as quickly when no contact it made.
Thurodim roars and flexes against the vines, his muscles bulging and straining. He pulls against the vines on his arms, bringing his hands together around the hilt of his axe before releasing the tension into a powerful swing which cuts clean through the vines running from the creature to him. Without even shaking loose the vines now looped loosely around him he steps forward to take one more swing at the creature, and cleaves it in two to the waist. The vines shiver and flail as the creature crumples in a heap. (Mechanically he wasn't freed until the creature died, but as the two attacks combined were enough to kill it narratively I think it sounds better this way.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ghurr frowns at the vines circling his body.
“Why plant so angry?” Ghurr says to no one in particular.
Rather than just trying to break free, after seeing Thurodim cut the vines, Ghurr tries the same. Slashing down once then twice with his glaive, even using the butt end to try and push off some of the vines.
It is difficult to pull off your usual whirlwind of attacks with the vines grasping and attempting to crush your arms, but one of your strikes does land, cutting a swathe from the twisting wood, the first damage this creature has suffered so far. It doesn't free you, but it's a good step.
Interestingly even Ghurr is likely to pick up that these creatures actually aren't angry. They aren't anything. Their faces remain entirely placid, their movements repetitive and synchronised. Ghurr doesn't have any experience with automata, but if he did he would see the similarities, and he recognises that in the strictest sense these things are not actually alive.
The elf was no sword master but since leaving Quilgard had his fair share of experience fighting with the blade. Never before he saw a weapon being moved that way. No limber was used to block, no evasive move was made. The very body of the enemy extended and deflected the attack. It’s like muscle turn into tendrils, he thought as vines extended from its feet. A small sea of green, gnarly and cruel, started covering the surroundings. Before long it started to try and crawl over his legs. Once again reflex kicked in, making the silver haired man pull his ankles from the vegetation. If I get caught I’ll just teleport away. It was far from the most palatable idea. The entire reason for his melee in that battle was to draw fire away from his companions. To put distance between him and the attackers by using Misty Step would end his efforts, mayhap prematurely. But to stay restrained would be worse.
Fortunately, his strength was enough to avoid capture and it was once again time to attack. For a moment Ilithir considered cursing the target in front of his eyes, but then remembered that a greater foe could still lurk on the tower. Better conserve energy where I can, he decided whispering a third time the arcane words of Booming Blade.
Notes: Another attempt at Booming Blade (rolls on the campaign log). 13 to hit. Potential 5 magic slashing damage and 7 thunder damage. If the attack hits and the target willingly moves 5 feet or more before then, the target takes and estra 2d8 thunder damage.
At first Illithir thinks he has struck true as his blade enters the creature, but he quickly realises that the vines have looped and shifted, and engulfed the blade rather than being damaged by it. He is able to withdraw his sword, no harm done.
VC B reaches out with its vines toward Faera who is already struggling against VC C. (Atk B w adv: 23) (Dmg B: 8 bludg.)
VC C already has Faera in its grasp and so simply increases the pressure of its vines (Dmg C: 3 bludg.) Faera is still Grappled and Restrained.
VC D looks Illithir in the eye and again its arm splits into writhing vines which try to ensnare him. (Atk D: 23) (Dmg D: 14 bludg.) Illithir is Grappled and Restrained.
VC F is already holding Ghurr and increases the pressure. (Dmg F: 7 bludg.) Ghurr is still Grappled and Restrained.
VCs G and H are already holding Mala, and both increase the pressure. (Dmg G: 7) (Dmg H: 11). Mala is, I believe, Unconscious. Her sword falls slack in her hand and drops to the floor with a clatter. The vines of both creatures G and H slither back into their bodies, reforming into arms. Her body is no longer Grappled and Restrained.
The vines of VC B bounce off the swiftly raised Shield, cast despite the pain of the crushing pressure. They retract, ready for another attempt as soon as possible.
Faera uses her action to acrobatically escape from Vines C, and I would love to see a cool narration for how she does it.
The magical, transparent, purple colored shield surrounds Faera for the duration of the round, preventing the vines from B getting to her.
As the shield remains, Faera spins around within the grasps of the vines, slowly at first being restrained, but the friction of her body allows a bit of give and the vines relent her a tad bit of room, just enough for her to leap out of the middle of them and land next to the pile she was just in.
As Mala goes down to the evil plant creatures, Thurodim ROARS in a fury hitherto unheard and swings Skull Cleaver twice over his head to cleave the vegetable monstrosities that has caught his longtime friend.
Action: Attack twice with Skullcleaver, attacking recklessly and -5 to attack and +10 to damage, all included in rolls.
Thurodim's fury powers his blade straight through VC H turning it into kindling, and on to VC G, slicing off the arm which just a few seconds ago was crushing the breath out of Mala.

Ghurr's usual pleasant demeanor is being sorely tested by this plant creature that's grabbing hold of him. He again tries to slash and hack and push at the vines with his glaive, slicing up and down and bashing out with the end.
Attack1: Attack: 10 Damage: 13
Attack2: Attack: 13 Damage: 11
Bonus: Attack: 22 Damage: 10
"Maybe not angry plants," Ghurr says as he hacks away. "Maybe like zombie plants. Bad magic control them."
At first Illithir thinks he has struck true as his blade enters the creature, but he quickly realises that the vines have looped and shifted, and engulfed the blade rather than being damaged by it. He is able to withdraw his sword, no harm done.
As Ilithir missed an attack roll I want to trigger Favored By the Gods and to add 5 (2d4 rolled in the campaign log) to the attack roll, turning the 13 into a 18. In this case does Ilithir opponent gets knocked out?
As the vines attempt to engulf his blade, Illithir's temptation is to retrieve it as quickly as possible. Instead, something in him urges him to go further, use the creature's movements against it - he pushes the blade further in, and releases the booming magic right in the core of the creature. The vines recoil and allow Illithir to remove the blade.
So it's not dead (you've done a total 26 dmg), but it isn't looking great. With all the booming most of its gilt leaf decoration now lies in flakes on the floor, and its wooden vines look splintered and rough.
Still entwined in vines, Thurodim ROARS and swings Skull Cleaver twice over his head to cleave the evil plant thing.
Action: Attack twice with Skullcleaver, attacking recklessly and -5 to attack and +10 to damage, all included in rolls.
Skullcleaver: 21 Slashing: 30
Skullcleaver: 21 Slashing: 22
Yes, anyone grappled by the creatures' attacks is Restrained. I can't check on mobile but Faera and Thurodim, were your attacks with disadvantage?

(Didn't realize she was restrained, so I'm assuming she can't move towards her attacker? Or can she since its through the vines?)
If she can, here's the reroll for attack: 26
If she can't, here's the attempt to get out of the restraints (acrobatics w/dis): 10

Faera uses another spell slot to react to Vine B attempting to attack her as well and successfully keeps that one at bay with her shield.
She then attempts to get out of the vines again...
