"Floor 6," Mala says in response to Faera. "I think you're right, maybe we'll get some idea of what's happening above from there. Clearly there's something on the roof."
Faera smiles and nods at Mala, then continues on the path towards the 6th floor portal. As she does, she pulls Oliver out of the folds of her cloak and whispers to him, asking him to check out the roof of the tower. The next moment the bird flies out of the entrance to the tower.
Repeating the actions for the 6 sigil, this archway opens without issue. Before you enter you note that the room seems larger than the last one. The room is bright, and opposite the exit to the portal seems to be another painting.
Stepping though, you find yourself in a room that feels about the same size as the entrance hall. It is floored with elegant light-grey marble, while pale wood on each wall holds a landscape painting. Each painting is of a different (potentially recognisable) place.
You realise that you have not stepped out of an archway, but simply from a hole in the air. Beneath your feet, in the same locations as the archways on the kitchen floor, are what Faera will recognise as miniature teleportation circles, etched into the marble. Beneath each painting is a similar, albeit larger, more elaborate circle.
In one corner an enclosed spiral staircase leads up to the next floor.
I'm open to Perception checks for the room, and History checks for the locations in the paintings. Some paintings will have higher DCs, some DCs will also be higher or lower depending on who is doing the check - some places will be more recognisable to certain people.
Faera, Oliver leaves the building and begins to circle upwards. As you move through the portal you feel the jump in distance between you two, though it doesn't take long for him to catch up as he climbs higher.
As his path takes him above the building he examines what remains of the top level, and you get the following thoughts relayed to you, not as words, but as pure conceptual understanding:
Nest
Bird? Deer? Predator

Thurodim walks the perimeter of the room, checking the paintings in passing, not expecting much out of that, more focused on making sure they are not magically trapped, and if they are, making sure he is the one to set them off, also peeking up the spiral staircase to see if daylight is coming down from there.

So you walk over the circles beneath the paintings?
Ghurr walks to the staircase while the others examine the room. He puts a hand on the bannister and looks up to see if he can make out the next floor.
The staircase spirals around to the right, so you cannot see to the top from the bottom. However you do feel a draught coming down from whatever is up there.
Confused by what Oliver is trying to convey, Faera sits down in the middle of the room and loses her senses to her familiar.
Faera's eyes cloud over and experiences only what Oliver experiences, a passenger in his body.
She sees the building clearly - the top floor appears to have once been open to the air, a tiled roof held up on 8 stone columns. Two of the columns seem to have collapsed and the roof has followed them. The rafters and crossbeams are twisted in a mess that covers the whole rooftop, though you do see the top of a spiral staircase by which the timbers seem to have been pushed to one side.
On top of the old ruined roof, clusters of branches and leaves have been roughly woven together, into an incoherent nest complex. Nestled in their own corners of the nest are three creatures - smaller than the one you have already fought and killed, and a pure white, none of the red markings, but the mismatched body and head identify them immediately now that you know what they are. Three more peryton.
(Perytons? Peryti?)
They scratch themselves with their antlers, and low quietly in whatever passes as communication between them. You see one look up at you, at Oliver. It huffs gently, but does nothing. You're just a bird.

Faera's eyes pop open and she looks around frantically. As she sees Ghurr starting up the steps, she struggles to keep her voice low, "Ghurr, wait! There are three more perytons up on the roof. Look to be younger than the one we fought. But man, good thing we weren't able to teleport up there!"
She gets to her feet, and makes sure that Ghurr has stopped his ascent. "So, weren't we told this was an unusual spot for pertyons? There is a nest up there and everything."
Faera finally takes a moment to take in the space around her, surprised by all the circles on the floor. Trying to make sense of it all....
A 20 will tell you that the small circles appear to be part of the same network as the archways - short range, likely just for getting around the building. The larger circles are more typical teleportation circles for stable long range travel. The paintings almost certainly indicate which locations these circles would take you to.
Yeah I think Thurodim would recognise the similarity between the larger and smaller circles and conclude that they probably do the same thing ie take you from one place to another.
Being careful not to step on the circles as he makes his way around the room, Thurodim is able to recognise almost all the places depicted in the paintings. The ones built on the coast are easy enough, as you will have passed through them on your various voyages over the years - Ilyath, Adyria with its tall Remnant 'The Spire'. Some are recognisable despite not having been there, their descriptions well known - Whitebridge, its namesake stretching away across the Titan Fault; Albamere, its half-submerged buildings shared with the great Lake Alba; Ochremont, its circling streets rising up around golden yellow hills. (Please correct me if you think Thurodim has been to any of these.) One more takes you a moment as you definitely haven't been there, no one in this room has, no one in 200 years has, but it is legendary - Sumarstow, once the shining jewel of Lindost, its painted towers lining the Atisoll River, nestled between the Silver Cliffs and the Magnal Forest.
The last two are less clear to you. One is likely Dwarven, its buildings low and large, the spaces between filled with archways, and all surrounded by tall, blocky walls. The last you don't recognise, and can't guess. It doesn't look as impressive as the locations in the other paintings, and it is difficult to tell even whether it is an Elven city or Human. The surrounding landscape looks green, though not so vibrant as you have experienced in the parts of Talith in which you have docked.
With your perception check, you notice that the marble floor by this last painting and circle looks scuffed and scratched. Dust and leaves have blown down from the spiral staircase, but beneath a small drift of leaves piled up against the wall you spot a large white feather.
"Hm, the circles, maybe they transport you to the places in these paintings."The massive green half-orc mutters, scratching his beard as he looks at the paintings.
As Faera warns Ghurr about the Perytons upstairs, Thurodim is almost charging up there immediately, but he stops and looks at the elven wizard. "Didn't we come here to end the threat of the perytons? Let me go up there, I can take them. Ghurr can come with me and you can cover us from the stairs." He rumbles, seeming quite eager to end the threat of these horned birds of prey.

Mala watches Thurodim walk around the room, examining the paintings. She nods as he seems to identify most of them. When he struggles with the last two she'll take a look at them herself. (History: 16)
She then hears Faera's warning of the perytons. "Yes, we should eliminate the risk of the perytons. Let's just make sure we have a plan and work together first. Not just go charging into them."
The Dwarven-looking city Mala still isn't sure of. Somewhere in Dharbesh.
However the other one, you do know. It's not a very distinctive skyline, but you recognise the landscape as Osmial, the river that runs through it as the River Rom. No coast, no lake, no mountains close by - this has to be Ilfhold, right in the centre of Osmial.
