When Gilded responds about Drezmir's strange power, Drez has to force himself out of his thoughts. He blinks, refocusing on his surroundings before replying, "Good...I am glad that this ability has not changed your opinion of me."
He listens to Gilded's explanation of Iroas then says, "I see...so he is the one god who is not bound to a providence? Interesting. Does he protect those who dwell in the lands outside of the kingdoms?"
"Iroas is not a god for those who need protecting. He is there to aid you and help you defeat your enemies. Gilded looks around the cave, eyes landing each person in turn. I have fought beside you all, none of you need protecting. You are all warriors whom I have seen fight with everything you have."
He pauses like he is trying to get his words right then continues. "Iroas would be there WITH you in battle, but he will not be there FOR you in battle. To answer your other question, Yes, Iroas is there in any province of the kingdoms, and any where outside the kingdoms, he is with me everywhere."
Gwen looks to Drezmir and his words on Fulgur and the Kitsune.
"I agree.. I suppose no matter the age their are those who desire change in the status quo. Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse though honestly it doesn't add up for me."
Gwen looks to Drezmir when he talks of the kingdoms being equal she seems.. Unusually quite about this statement. Gwen looks to Jess as she speaks.
"Ahh.. Fantatics, I suppose in a way we are all slaves to our ideals. What's right to us may be wrong to another. We all fight for different reasons, even us who fight on these battles together. I suppose.. That's just me over thinking again though hehe."
Gwen nods and looks to Drez as he talks of his power.
"We've all have our strength's and weakness's right? No reason to judge you based off that."
The group was resting as they talked and Gwyn couldn't help but think she really could let her guard down except.. Around Corvus. She saw him snatch that gold and though money had no moral purpose to her.. It had shown her what kind've character he possessed. He could lie as easily as he could breathe. And she didn't like that. He also had little to say on Drezmir's whole ordeal which bothered her more. Or how he almost died.. They saved him! And how.. How did he repay them? Gwyn couldn't help but grip her fist before sighing for a moment to recollect herself. She had a feeling.. This man his selfishness may get them all killed.
"Hey Drez, later I need to tell you something. Just the two of us.. Maybe when this is all over first."
Gwen chuckles at Gilded before throwing her own two coppers in.
"I suppose I follow Dawn because.. I always believed Dawn to represent hope and guidance. The god of light is also known by these qualities. Fulgur represent's Loyalty and Fortitude for example. They've all got grand qualities but.. Dawn's always felt closest to my heart. Of course I was born in Radiance so that's honestly pretty normal I suppose. Once upon a time as a little girl I hated going to the sermons.. And I hated anything to do with Dawn I was quite the little rebel."
On the way back toward the town Sloden's marking were throbbing but they were not growing. Jess herself could hear.. An oceans wind and a watery wind. A breeze that no one else themselves could feel. Gildaug himself could feel a warming glow in his chest. One that started after the cultist were destroyed and only grew when Dawn talked of Dawn.
"Head.. To the Church... The Church....Of..."
The voice cuts off and that is all that can be heard in this moment. Gwen looks to Gilded when he says they do not need protecting.
"But.. We do the monsters of the Outlands are far too dangerous. The races out there must live underground and constantly move in fear and terror. One settlement in the outlands that had lasted 3 years.. Was attacked.. By a Lich. Dragons and other demons and horrors exist out there. The god's cannot reign in the outlands. Without the divine beast we'd be set back hundreds if not thousands of years. Not to challenge you're belief but.. Well I'm well aware that Radiance needs Dawns Light even if.. Dawn.. Well.. Never mind. I suppose that is enough talk on religion yes?"
When they get back to town after their short rest it seems the guards.. Are all on edge and all eyeing the group.. Intensely. Something seems to be amiss.
OOC: Just a reminder to Vex's post. The Kirin is Fulgur's physical form in this world ^^ It's a GIANT Kirin though.
Also I am glad everyone has their gold/loot on their sheets and figured out now ^^
Jess will want to try to guess what could be bothering them, and discern if the guards are feeling hostile towards the group, or else fearful, or something else
He looks worse despite his marks easing back into his skin. The conversation - opinions and feelings expressed- seem to have unsettled him. He also seems extremely uncomfortable with all the blood on his frock. He keeps rubbing and scratching at it.
When the guards start looking at them so intensely, he says aloud:
"Something has happened. Time to talk to one, alone. If we don't, we might not wake up if we go to sleep at that tavern. Or wake up in chains."
"Actually, If this town is anything like the other towns I have been in, nothing gets past the bartender. And we have kind of made a bond with him. Lets go ask the orc if he knows what may be going on" Gilded Also notices the anxiety among the guards.
“Good idea Gilded. Maybe we go to the person who gave us advice for the hill giant’s quest for the money, then we can hop to the tavern though. And I will probably tip the orc most of my money anyway.”
Jess isn't exactly sure if it's fear or anger but they are on edge and she can at least feel an uncomfortable air. Vex has a little more of an idea however, they seem ready to fight. Some Guards seem hard to read but the younger recruits? They seem to have shifty hands and on guard. It's possible they were preparing for a fight. Gilded can even see the Vet's they are more calm.. Preparing for a chance to strike. They aren't eager to strike right now but are watching in case it comes to blows. Their is a mixture of fear and hostility in the eyes of these men. Gwen looks to the group and Vex's idea of going to the guard for advice. They'd have to collect the reward of 80 gold.
"If a fight breaks out him and my men will stand beside you. Though my men are skilled.. It is but one unit and we'd be outnumbered. I don't mean this to be a way of bragging but rather a tactical report. Besides my brother no one in Glazing Wind is beyond my ability in a one on one fight. Though my brother is weaker than me physically I've never come close to beating him in any of our spars. One.. Two spells and I'm usually out cold."
She was prideful and it hurt to admit that she could only handle one or two spells but.. It was best they knew how dangerous her brother was in a head on confrontation.
"So are we heading to the tavern first? Or the barracks? I agree with Gilded we shouldn't split up but as always I will follow you're leads."
When Gwen asks Drezmir if they can talk alone later he seems surprised, “Um…sure. When this is all over.”
Drez eyes the guards, unsure of why they are on edge. Shouldn’t they know by now that they were the ones who were helping the town? …Is that why they are on edge?
He listens to Gwen as she explains her limits then says, “Your skills are quite impressive already. There is no need to be ashamed that a couple spells can do you in. Magic always tips the scales in some way. At least all of us together make for quite a force. None of us have to handle this alone.” He smiles, “Besides, I was the one who got knocked out after just a couple well placed sword strikes.”
“Yes, I think stopping by the tavern would be a good idea if anyone is in need of more time to rest. Those of us who don’t need that rest can go speak to the guard who told us about the hill giant and try and figure out why everyone is so wary.”
Corvus eyes the guards. He tries to read their expressions to see if they are wary of him and his companions or if it is something else that has put them on edge.
Insight: 13
”Yes, I think that is a good idea.” He says to Drezmir.

Breast plate was taken by Vex I think and the gold was divided up.. 6 to Corvus, 4 to everyone else.
Vex took none of the gear
Except the gold of course
(OOC: maybe it was Drez.. yeah, thats right, we could see his scars when he changed armors.. I remember now.)
(OOC: actually that was Sloden. He had the strange marks on him that he briefly mentioned while changing his armor. Drez didn't take anything.)
