How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
"Everything is fine?" Finna squinted in the deem light of the lamp at Roland. "There is a fight is about to begin. A bad fight - eight zombies and something that looks like flaming skull, full of magic and quite agressive."
"Thank you, Nemean, but one has to step inside and make himself visible to provoke those monsters. If I cove the entrance with spikes - you would not be able to get back. Or I might not be able to make those spikes if I wait for you to return. While as spider I can run on the ceiling again, bring those things here and hide behind you, while you attack first wave."
"Shall we do it?"
If others agree, this is what we do - Finna covers casts Spike Growth on the area inside the cave right by the entrance, indicated on the map, change into spider, climbs on the ceiling and carefully steps inside, ready to run back.
"Hey guys, sorry I think I took a wrong turn back there." he says, drawing his rapier and a short sword. "I got lost for a bit, but I'm still ok, ready for a scrap. Zombies and a flaming skulls aren't anything we can't handle. Shall I lie in wait to ambush them?"
Nemean clasps Rolands arm and welcomes him back “Just in time to leap back into the fray my friend! And yes, wait here in ambush, and I will lure those rotting husks right to you. Just stay clear of Finna’s spell.”
Nemean will equip his longbow and stealthily approach the horde, moving 60ft into the hallway.
That Finna saw too in her life - sudden urge to risk everything and everyone for the sake of ... well, reasons named are different but the real one - a wish for an action - is always the same. Safe plans and reasoning are ignored in this conditions.
Finna will hold her Spike Growth until Nemean comes back and will try to cast it and then retreat behind the lines of those, waiting for zombies.
A blast furnace and a mechanical bellows powered by a waterwheel dominate this large chamber ahead of you. The furnace is cold and dark, but heaps of coal are piled nearby, along with carts full of unrefined ore. The waterwheel sits in a ten-foot-wide channel cut into the floor of the room, but the channel is dry. Passages exit the room to the west, east, and south (behind you). The empty channel exits to the north and east.
More than a dozen withered corpses are scattered around the room. These slain dwarves and orcs are still wearing the remnants of their armor. Floating above them is a skull engulfed in green flame.
Nemean creeps ahead, leaving the lantern light, and eventually, the sight of Thulgrim's darkvision.
Nemean raises his bow and takes aim at the flaming skull. He steadies his breathing and his hair stands on edge as he looses the arrow towards his foe.
The arrow careens off of the floating skull, sailing into the channel below. It doesn't appear to have been very effective against it, only pushing the floating creature back a few feet. It turns, wreathed in flame, and stares at you with dull, empty eye sockets, its mouth opening and teeth chattering repeatedly. Around the room, the corpses rise to their feet, shambling toward the tunnel where you stand.
Nemean retreats back to the party, looking frantic and fumbling 4 arrows from his quiver. From behind him, a beam of red hot fiery energy scorches his fur, narrowly missing. A pair of zombies files into the tunnel behind him, and behind them a tiny grinning skull flies toward the party, hovering in the air and wreathed in green flame.
Round 2 Order: Players <===== Enemies
Placement: Nemean is 30 feet away from the party. Two zombies are 20 feet away from Nemean and 50 feet away from the rest of the party. The flameskull is 10 feet in the air, 30 feet away from Nemean and 60 feet away from the rest of the party.
I think the plan is still to allow Nemean to retreat toward the party line, then Finna to throw spike growth just in front of the zombies. Either 10' in front so they enter the zone on next turn, or 5' in front so they start next turn in the zone. Either way, Thulgrim will move 25' toward zombies and hold attack action for if/when one moves into melee range.
(Thulgrim somehow senses that it might not be a good idea to all stand in a group ...)

Nemean fires another arrow, this time taking aim at the flaming skull once more.
Attack: 9 Damage: 8
He then lowers his bow and bolts as quickly as he can to move behind the party so Finna can cast her spell. He does his best to deftly glide past the zombies to avoid their attacks. He moves 60ft in a flash and will position himself behind the party and the area of Finnas spell. He raises his bow again and prepares to fire down the hallway.

Precisely: Nemean steps over the threshold, Finna casts Spikes behind him and retreats behind first-liners (Thulgrim/Nemean?)
