It is difficult to see what might lie beyond the door on the west side of the room, but Nemean hears no noise from the other side. Nimble searches beneath the bunks, but sees nothing more than dust and stone. If the bones within the room are any indication, these bunks have not seen use in quite some time.
OOC: Sounds like a rest might be in order? How long would you like to stay here, and is there anything you would like to do before or during the short rest?
Nemean slumps back against the wall and purrs a bit as he collects himself. He takes a deep drink from his water skin and closes his eyes for several minutes, breathing heavily with his mouth agape.
Second Wind: 7
After resting he draws his bow and looks to the door to the east. “Surely this leads into the same room as the doorway we just passed, perhaps we can approach from both entrances at once? Two can sneak back around, while three can charge the door...”
He motions to Roland and goes to check the doorway 40 feet to the west of the door they used to enter the room. He does not enter the room, and stays in the hallway for now.

The rhythmic booming sound from the distance continues throughout the next hour while you lick your wounds.
"It's rather amazing if you think about it," Sildar comments, "We're delving through history before our eyes. The bones we've seen are likely the remnants of the battle between the dwarves and orcs that lost this mine hundreds of years ago. How lively this place must have been in its prime."
OOC: Uninterrupted, the party has gained the benefits of a short rest. If you would like to roll hit dice (and haven't already), please do so in your next post.
OOC: Sorry for the confusion. The hallways to the left and right of the room you're currently in don't have doorways, but those tunnels extend further. Did you want to open the door to the west from the room you're in, or explore down the hallway to the west of the room you're in?
OOC: my idea was for half of the party enter the next room from the hallway in the south, and the other half enter from the door in the east from where we just rested. My thought was to try to maximize our stealth and Rolands sneak attack.

OOC: Is there any way my character can see in the dark and use stealth? It can't be very stealthy for me to be carrying the lantern, a light source in the pitch dark.

Roland - Unfortunately without darkvision you'll be quite blind anywhere there's not a light source. Though, you don't necessarily have to be the light source wink wink hint hint.
Splitting up, half of the party stays within the room and opens the door to the west while the others circle around from the hallway to the south. However, the door only opens back up to another system of tunnels. Two separate tunnels run further to the west from this room.
"Well, that was a good plan, though it seems we made a trap for an imaginary enemy" Tochi says, and turns to the rest of the team "Where to? I'd prefer to take the southern tunnel, it is closer to the way we entered from, at the very least".
"Is anyone able to carry this lantern for me? This is not doing wonders for my particular brand of ambush-intensive combat." Roland says, offering the lantern to the others.

"Nemean, my friend, since you do not need an additional source of light, the lantern will only serve to hinder you. I, on the other hand, have not been blessed with darkvision, and, unlike Roland, happen to net be stealthy as well, so, I believe it is me upon whom the duty of carrying the light should fall" Says Tochi, and goes to Roland to take the lantern. Then, he motions to the southern tunnel: "Let us proceed, then".
