(LOL I'm getting confused trying to break a 50m cliff into 30ft chunks. How many rolls will it take to get to the top?)
( Morseths roll was enough to get him to the top. Dru will need to roll again or give up. Roll the same as Morseth or better and you'll make it all the way up.
But each subsequent person that ascends increasingly risks equipment failure which could strand folks at the top..)
Druholds position for the moment. She calls, "What do you see? Do you need help? The fewer people up the better."
Morseth pokes his head over the top and takes a look:
At last you reach the top andpeer over the edge up into a vast cavern. Stalactites sparkle in light which seems to come from all around. Your heart skips a beat as you behold, curled atop an enormous mound of treasure, the long sinuous form of a gargantuan red Dragon! Luckily for you, it is sleeping; wisps of blue smoke curl gently up from its black nostrils. Near it, contained within a red pentacle inscribed on the cavern floor, is a stout old oak tree whose branches reach up to the shadows beyond the magic light.
Just for a moment, as you reached the top, you fancied you saw a figure: a wild bearded man two metres in height, dressed in ragged furs, holding aloft an ebony staff. But then, when you look again, it is the oak tree you see standing there. It must have been a trick of the light....
Dru calls out loudly from below and your eyes move back to the dragon....but it seems to sleep on...for now....

(Sorry for absence, was travelling and visiting w/family last couple of days.)
(Will the DC drop if Morseth is able to tie off the rope at the top of the climb? Then the pitons are less necessary/protective. Cainneach will suggest it, regardless.)
Cainneach watches all of this action anxiously from the ground. He considers himself brave, but is very impressed by Morseth's second-story work and is fearful that Dru won't be able to replicate it. "Morseth, are you able to affix the rope to anything sturdy up there? I think that might help us make the ascent, if necessary!", Cainneach calls up to their agile companion.
Fear runs down Morseth's spine. Scared stiff. Its a moment later when he climbs down and share what he saw. He whispers 'There is a red dragon sleeping on its treasure up. There. I think I hallucinated seeing an old man with a blackstaff, but in the next moment it was just an old tree."
Tana tips her head curiously at the mention of the beast. "Are we meant to be taking something from the creature? Dragons are known to be quite volatile," she hums in consideration, "not exactly the optimal opponent for negotiation. Though I could try my hand at it if it were necessary."
"I am in agreement, lets try the other path" whispers Morseth. He leaves the rope and piton behind in the event they ever try to go back. He ignites another torch and heads down the other path.
Morseth shares what he sees with the others "That bulbous face gets me thinking there maybe traps in this room. Lets be cautious" he scans the room from the entrance to see if he notices any traps
Cainneach is staggered by the report of a dragon in this dungeon. His mind is racing as he paces down the hall away from the double doors. "A dragon ... a mythical beast, not something real. But if it is a dragon, what can we do against that? Could Morseth be mistaken? He seemed certain of it, and certainly shaken by what he saw. What the hell are we doing here? We're not a collection of heroes of might and magic ... or what do I know of the rest of the party, save Dru of course? Are these people really who they say they are? Is this the doing of the priest? Damnit. I need to talk to Dru, figure this out. Maybe she saw something from the rock ... and what of this strange man that Morseth mentioned? If he can disappear at will, he could menace us from anywhere. Damnit. Damnit." He's not of much use at present, but Cainneach will try to calm himself down.

Thatch follows the others down the hallway. He was slightly embarrassed that the old alchemist had made the climb, but he remembered too well the trouble he had at the cliff face earlier and did not wish to repeat it. Still, he would have liked to see a dragon, as long as it didn’t see him first. He pauses as they enter the room with the goblet and pedestal “Another test, do you think”he asks Sir Valor and the others.
As they inspect the room and pedestal, Thatch is drawn toward the goblet and carefully looks it over from a safe distance for any markings or other interesting features, trying to determine what it is made of and if it holds any contents. Perception: 5. (Passive: 14).

Hotspur will investigate the pedestal for any hidden levers or compartments or traps.
Investigation 17
As Hotspur advances towards the podium there is a high whistling sound and a stiff breeze begins to blow from the stone face, building over seconds into a full on gale preventing any forward movement in the hall. The winds increase exponentially, blowing open the door they had entered through and pressing several of the members of the companions back against the stone walls. Even with his eyes watering from the strong wind he is certain there are no hidden mechanisms on the podium.

The goblet appears to be made of silver and is empty.
She is just looking to knock it over and off the podium, not to damage it.
The arrow is badly buffeted by the gale force winds but Drus skills defeat even the maelstrom and the Chalice is knocked from its perch below the face, both it and the arrow are picked up by the wind and come hurtling back at the companions to clatter into the wall beside them.

Cainneach gathers himself and finally notices the door at the other end of the room, beyond the podium and the windy visage. Wishing to atone for his faltering courage earlier, he will attempt to press himself against the side wall and push through the tempest to reach that door.

"Sure says Morseth as he hammers a piton at the top and tie a rope to it." says Morseth. Then he looks around to see what is up here.

A short way inside the northern corridor Morseth finds a door sitting ajar, peeking past the heavy door you see a long hall.
At the north end, your torch-light falls upon a podium of grey marble carved to resemble a bulbous-cheeked face blowing at you.
A silver goblet rests on the podium.
Beyond, another door leads deeper into the underworld.
