Lucian glances between Lenn and Nikolai for a moment before backing a few steps so he isn't between them. He doesn't want to get caught up in this argument, especially since he sees both sides. He wouldn't want these children anywhere near a fight, but... Nicolai also has a point. He hardly remembers a time when he wasn't on the streets himself, only that it was a miracle he'd survived until adulthood. ...well, if he could be considered an adult as an elf. Regardless, this isn't something he's comfortable arguing about. He's grateful that Nicolai is willing to drop the issue, even if his stance was valid. Lucian would much rather see the children to safety. Even if these were ordinary circumstances...well he doesn't want them around in the event of him losing control. He tells himself that won't be an issue, but really he has to face the possibility that it could happen no matter how controlled he feels at the moment. However, he does nod a little when Bran suggests letting the family decide. It should be their decision after all... though on the other hand, what if having them around makes it more difficult for them to deal with this problem? If they have to worry about the children, wouldn't that make for a distraction? Even if they decided that it was Adrian's responsibility to watch out for his family, Lucian knows full well that most of their group would not be able to ignore a kid in danger.
When Lenn asks Adrian to take his family to safety, Lucian spares a glance towards Bran and then Nicolai before wrapping his arms around himself and turning his attention to the ground. It seems the argument isn't finished after all. Whatever they decide on doing, right now he just wants to hurry up and get this over with. After a moment, he says quietly to Chara, "Um...do you think sending Ichabod in ahead of us would be a good idea? There's no way Adrian could know where all of the druids are even if he has an estimate of how many are in there. Maybe...well...maybe if Ichabod goes in first, invisible so that the druids don't realize someone's scouting them out...maybe we can pinpoint locations so we can better prepare for...uh...prepare for dealing with them." He shifts uncomfortably, then moves his hand to toy with his pocket watch.
Nikolai leans against a tree. Having expressed his opinion, he is now content to follow the majority, although he is curious to see how the Martikovs respond.
"Yes, I can go ahead and send Ichabod to see what's inside," she says. "I... I would at least like to know how many druids there are before we try to sneak in."

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Eithne is a bit distracted by the fact that, in her head, the voices are quickly organizing a competition of loud dissent, at the idea of letting children run risks in battle. After all, the voices are those of mothers who, largely, have seen their children get killed!
When the savage stranger finally manages to enjoy a moment of inner respite, the final decision has already been left in Adrian's hands - although Lenn is doing his best to influence this decision.
'Lenn is so sensitive...' thinks the Last of the Dusk Elf Maidens 'He really cares to keep the innocents out of danger'.
Adrian looks thoughtful, but it is Davian who speaks. “As my son implied, we are, even now, not without resources. We will provide you what aid we can. But we dare not leave the children alone or move too far from the winery. We will remain in these woods.”
”First, we can provide you these potions.” He nods to Adrian who leaves for a moment and returns with bag, filled with clinking glass vials (6x potion of healing).
”Second, we’ve been able to get some scouting done. There is the Druid in the fermentation vats, and another two upstairs. There was a fourth in the attack, but we don’t know where she has gone. So, there is no need to risk your friend.”
"Thank you" Lenn says when Adrian gives them the potions. "So at least four druids. Do you know how many of this corrupt plants are with them?. And, thank you for stay away... " he adds when Davion finish.
When Davian Martikov finishes speaking, Bran lets out the breath he was containing. It doesn't really shake the bad feeling he's got after the glance Lenn's shot him, but the decission has been made, the family will stay safe and invaluable information has been provided. The potions will even make up for all the magic that has been burned in the previous combat if anyone in the party gets badly hurt.
With all this in mind, the bard feels surer now and readier for the task ahead, feelings that he transmits to the outside by straigthening and just waiting for everyone else to be ready.
Lucian perks up as Davion offers them healing potions. Those would most definitely come in handy. He also listens intently when the elder Martikov explains where they believe all of the druids to be. He still thinks it would be a good idea to send in Ichabod ahead of them--it isn't as if the imp would really be putting himself into that much danger since he can go invisible--since it is very possible that the druids could have moved around since they'd scouted them out. But he won't say this right now. Instead he just looks around, waiting for the others to decide on a plan of action, and fidgeting a little in anticipation.
Eithne instructs Juhowly to be with the children (possibly with Cole's help if she can't explain herself), pats her affectionately on the hips and assures her: "I'll be back soon. You wait for me and be good, OK?"
Then the savage stranger proposes: "Come on, let's enter by the west door. Ichabod could enter first, invisible, so if something had changed he could come back to warn us and if the druid inside noticed the door, it apparently would have opened by itself, as if by a gust of wind. Shortly after, I, Lucian and Chara could enter, sneaking. The others could wait just outside. If we manage to surprise the druid, we attack him. If, on the other hand, he discovers us, we try to run towards him to eliminate him. In any case, those outside, as soon as they hear the noise of the fight, come in and run to help us with the Druid".
Completely unaccustomed to planning military operations, the last of the dusk elf maidens looks at her companions one by one with her azure eyes, asking for confirmation, uncertain: "It's ok like this? Shall we get this party started?"
Listening to Eithe's proposal, there's something that worries the bard and he shares this aloud:
- Hmmm. That doesn't sound bad but I'm worried about the noises. Can fighting that first druid atract the rest to the fermentation vats? I don't know if the building is big enough for the fights to be so separated that the druids won't be loud enough to be heard among themselves. If we are not careful enough with this, we may end up fighting four of them at the same time instead of one or two at a time as we intend. I don't really know If we can do something to prevent this...? Mmmm. Perhaps we could try attracting that first druid to fight him outside the house and finish him there. Provided that there are no enemies (like plants) outside, of course. I don't know... buf if these guys scream as much as the couple on the road, then this won't be silent at all.
- In any case, I'm not opposed to this plan. Perhaps we can plan more and think on ways to try to not attract all of the druids at the same time as we go ahead.
Davian sketches a very detailed map of the winery for you in the ground with a stick. The man is quite an artist. (I should note that all the doors are closed in his map).
Looking at the detailed map Davian has drawn, Bran says:
- Could we perhaps have Chara - he means Ichabod, but refrains from mentioning his name as the Marikovs might be wondering who that Ichabod is - scout the area around the house and, if it is safe, have the sneakier of us open these two doors - and the points to the west door and the one right after that - and attract the druid near the fermentation vats to the well and fight that one there? Then we could enter the ground floor and proceed from there to the cellar or the upper floor, as we see fit.
As the other plan Lenn makes sure there is enough space in the cart for the woman with the baby to sit inside it but his movements are somehow rushed as if he was in a hurry.
When they finish planning he just nods and unsheathes his greatsword.
"Let's do it. If they hear us and come... we will finish sooner" he says to Bran's concerns "One way or another. "
Lucian doesn't like the idea of being up front... but he does realize that sending the stealthier people in first makes sense, so he keeps his worries to himself. If he's lucky, they can quietly dispatch the target with out actually getting into a fight. "Uh... Okay... are...are we ready to go then?"
When they start on their way, he lets Eithne take the lead, though he stays close behind (if we are trying to sneak, Chara and Eithne get a +1 to their stealth rolls).
... (if we are trying to sneak, Chara and Eithne get a +1 to their stealth rolls).
(OOC: Great! Thank you for the bonus)
Since it seems that an agreement has finally been found on the common course of action, Eithne decides to take the lead and enter. It's the choice that seems most logical to her: at the very least, if they are discovered, she will be first in line, thus the most likely target of the druids' 'attention' – thus protecting the less 'tough' members of the party.
"Certainly!" she replies to Lucian, smiling and trying to instill in him, with a calm look from her azure eyes, a sefl-confidence that she's not entirely sure to feel.
After which she, trying to stay low, to hide behind eventual objects whenever she can and to be careful not to step on or move items that may make noise, she enters, trying to see where the druid is and to move in his direction.
Remembering the many times she had to move stealthily through the wild lands of Barovia, either to escape too powerful predators, or to attack dangerous enemies by surprise, the savage stranger slips in naturally, like a common shadow among the shadows... albeit much more determined and deadly!
Chara's dark body almost seems to melt into the shadows as she makes her way towards the winery. Though she dreads the confrontation... and the possibility that she will have to take more lives... she remains determined to do what she has to for the good of her friends and of Barovia.
