Jacob and Natasha approach the dock stealthily but can find no one laying in wait for them or on the lookout for unwelcome visitors. They return to the Penelope and Stone who are scoping out the area from a distance.
The Old Docks feature an upper and a lower walkway. Two main docks jut from the upper walkway, and larger craft used these during the dockyards’ heyday. The lower walkway, 20 feet below the upper one, has an area where smaller fishing vessels could unload their cargoes. In the time since shipping moved upriver, the walkway and docks have fallen into disrepair. You can’t tell whether or not the walkways will support the party’s weight, you will have to get closer to determine that. Attached to the docks are the remains of the docks offices and warehouse.
(This map is of the upper walkway and the buildings, the blank spot is an indoor area you can’t see. Once you enter the map from the left side, you will have to tell me exactly what squares you step on. Like “left 2 squares, then up 3 squares”, etc.)
"Unless Nat has a specific desire to go first, I'll get this started..." Jacob says, pausing a beat before heading toward the building, looking for any ingress points along the lower portion of the building as shown on the map. He'll hew to the debris and go slow, from the third square up from the bottom on the left, around the broken wall shown and as far as you'd let him reasonably get without being in initiative just yet...

OOC: Where are these maps coming from? A generator? They're great... (also, **** yeah mediocre rolls... doin' it right...)
Stone: The windows of the warehouse are boarded up and unusable.
Phaedrustc: The world map and city of Sala map I made, the airship maps I found on google images, and this map was included with the published adventure. I’m using an assortment of one level adventures and tweaking them to fit in my homebrew world.
stiffkick80: I was going to let you guys decide which section of the left you wanted to start on.
(Natasha enters thru the left near the barrel and inspects it to see if there's anything useful in it. She'll also take any type of stick of wood, branch, plank, etc and poke around the wood near the barrel to check if the floor is sturdy enough to support her.)
A slow-moving river flanks this wooden walkway along the western andnorthern edges. The walkway’s southern edge has one intact building among several ruins. Massive holes provide a view of a lower walkway and the water below it. The stench of ancient mold and hints of urine lingers in the area.
Natasha finds nothing useful in the barrel, and it looks like it’s been gnawed at some small creature. She uses a nearby plank to test the immediate area pier around her, it’s strong enough to take her weight. Roll a Perception check to study the rest of the walkway from where you are standing.
Natasha is able to scan the walkway and she determines that some of the boards are rotting and will collapse if someone puts too much weigh on them (labeled here by the red squares).
(Natasha points out the weak areas to the group so that they can avoid them. She then goes and checks the other barrel and the crate to see if there's anything useful.
Investigation: 7
(Finally, she goes to the entrance of the building and stands to the side, motioning everyone to come to her.)

Jacob Bray - The Call of Lon-Dia, Human Bloodhunter 3
(OOC: Yes, Phaedrustc it’s just a dilapidated, boarded up building. Sorry I missed your post, I’m still recovering from my new job’s schedule. Things should be smoother from now on.)
Jacob: You creep along the rubble, heading toward the only standing structure. Rats scurry about this trash-choked alleyway between two demolished buildings. Some rats flee into piles of trash when they hear noise, but most stand their ground when intruders arrive. They stand on their hind legs and hiss at you, willing to protect their treasure hoard of garbage. Make a nature check.
Natasha: You carefully move to the crate on the closest dock. This dock leans downward to the northeast, but seems mostly intact. A crate is sliding slowly and inexorably toward the water. Make a perception check.
Stone and Penelope: Since Natasha hasn’t made it to the building’s entrance yet, so I’ll place you at the starting point and let you decide again what you two would like to do.
(Also, since Natasha has spotted the weak parts of the main pier, you don’t have to be as exact in telling me your placement, I’ll assume you avoid falling through the compromised portions.)
