Lex hands back the book to Ezid and says "Yeh... It probly nothin', just a cool book mate" to which he hears everyone talking and Mordeikai mention Demon's and turns quickly towards him and says to everyone "Wait, what? We heard nothin' of Demons, where'd you get that information..." Staring directly at mordeikai and then to the rest of the group "Wait wait wait... i thought these bandits that were annoyin' this town were actually.. Ya know... In this ****in' town... Not 8 days away" He says confused with his eyebrow raised.
Carmen starts to laugh. "Wow, some leader! I guess you were a little too concerned about coin to hear what Noril was saying." After another chuckle. "Thanks for that, I haven't had a laugh in a while." A brief sadness crosses her face, then she smirks again. "Lead, on, sir!"
"Goblins attacked. They killed a couple people," as he says this, a look of sadness crosses his face. "We took care of them though. There may be more coming. May be something worse coming. Master Iefyr saw something big and flying near the ruins near town. For now, we will face the bandit problem. After, Cozubia will try to stop the beast from hurting anyone else." As he says this last bit, the sadness has left his face, leaving nothing but a stern resolve. "While we are gone, Lady Tina, can Cozubia give you a message to pass on to a friend if she comes to town?"
Iefyr purchases rations for 3 days for 15 sp before heading back to the inn.
He takes a seat next to Cozubia, interjecting himself in his and Tina's conversation. "Ah, I have the same favor to ask. Just if you see a caravan escort named Dyrdren, tell him that Iefyr was here looking for him."
"I certainly can pass those messages along if they happen to stop into the Dragon's Respite. Do you have written messages I can pass along? Does this friend have a name?" she asks to make sure she can deliver on her promise.
"Cozubia has no written note. Reading and writing were not taught in Clan Otiyax, Lady Tina. But the friend is Lady Squeelinda. She is a small halfling with light brown skin, and dark brown hair that becomes red near the end. Lady Squeelinda saved Cozubia's life. We have been traveling together on a quest but were separated. If Lady Squeelinda comes here, Lady Tina, just let her know that I have been here and will return soon." As Cozubia finishes speaking, he reaches into his coin pouch and pulls out 3 gold pieces and places them in Tina's hand.
Carmen also purchases some extra rations. Upon returning to the Dragon's Respite, she sits near the others. She pulls some odd bits of metal out of her pocket and starts twisting some wire while she listens and waits.
"Of course Cozubia. I will keep an eye out for this halfling." Tina continues walking around the bar serving different patrons as the tavern is now much fuller than you are use to seeing as the evening is beginning to set in.
"Are we still planning on heading out to Wayfield today, or should we plan for an early start in the morning?" Carmen asks the others. "If we are staying, I'm gonna order some supper."
I’m going. If you want to stay, that is your choice. Mordekai gives a nod to Tina. When issue in Wayfield is finished, will be coming back to Forest. You have been gracious host. Putting a closed fist into the flat open hand and taking a bow at the hips, he readies himself to leave through the door.
As Mordekai states that he is going this evening, Cozubia heads to the room he has been renting and grabs his gear. He checks to make sure he has everything in order and heads back to the party, standing near the door. He looks around at the party and smiles, eager to be off.
Iefyr follows Cozubia's lead and pulls a gold coin from his bag to hand to Tina. "Nothing written from me either, just tell him we'll be back soon!" He stands up after Mordekai, giving a shrug to Carmen. "Yeah I guess we might as well get started, we still have some daylight."
"Oh you're heading off now? Alright then, I shall join you!" Ezid hastily packs up his things as the group began to leave to depart, speaking with a rushed manor as he quickly caught up to the Half Elf, the Fellow dragonborn and the Teifling, standing beside them waiting incase anybody else from the group was joining.
With bags packed and affairs in order, the seven of you decide to group together for now. A similar goal currently lies ahead as of all you have decided to see what is going on in Wayfield. Walking through Vallerond, you head out of town from the north entrance. Two small out posts with guards currently keeping watch look at the seven of you and nod.
"Safe travels and Erathis' blessing to you all," they both shout out as you leave the town.
With a few days travel in your future, you take a moment to look at the group you have found yourself in. You see a rather blunt and direct human. A self-reflective tiefling in his colorful gi. A half-elf who is literally beating to his own drum. Two silver Dragonborn, one with a mysterious book on one hip and a lute on the other. The second dragonborn in metal armor, ready for what comes. You see another tiefling albeit this one shrouded under a hood. Finally, the tall wood elf, clutching a pendant around his neck.
The seven of you headed north unknowing what may come. But you find a small moment of peace as you walk together.
Walking had its place in Mordekai’s life. On the flattened earth road, Mordekai was able to see the years of passing as wagon after wagon, foot after foot, hoof after hoof, each created their small indentation in with the others. It wasn’t so simple back at the old home to find a path. Memorization of where you were, where you wanted to go, what turns to take, it was a game that kept you on your toes. Here, it was simple. It should have been simple. Instead he arrived with a load of frustration and bitterness, and even now that load had been lessened, but it still drove him mad that he couldn’t fully let go. He would need to stitch all night and he knew that he’d feel like complete ass in the morning, but it would keep him in check. Personal question, but as it seems each of us is familiar in some way with travel and search for work, what brought each of you here? If you don’t want to answer, I shall respect decision.
Always eager to have the attention on himself, Iefyr pipes up immediately. "I came looking for my father! His name is Dyrdren, he works as a caravan escort and sellsword in Vallerond. I was hoping to find work with him, as I... well I've never really been away from my tribe before." He says the second part of this with a pause, as a sadness comes into his voice. He recovers quickly and turns back to the tiefling. "What about you, my blue friend?" he says with a smile. As he walks and talks, Iefyr pulls out a small handheld drum and taps out a steady beat. His footsteps fall into the rhythm automatically, as his hips also begin to sway along.
As the party walks, he listens to the drums coming from his new companion. When there is a brief break in the conversation he tells them his story. "A few years ago Clan Otiyax was destroyed. Cozubia survived somehow, but has no memory of that night. Hurt and alone, Cozubia walked, eventually finding a new friend, Lady Squeelinda. She healed Cozubia, taught about Sarenrae and the light. This interested Cozubia. After a couple years, we decided to go o a quest to seek the Elves in Alune and their magics to seek if they can help Cozubia remember what happened the night Clan Otiyax died. We got separated during storm, so Cozubia made his way to village hoping Lady Squee would turn up." After he finishes, he walks with the party, trying to match his pace to the drums as Iefyr so effortlessly did, but a brief pain in his right knee and limp that comes with it makes it very difficult. But it is a pain he has learned to live with, so he continues his effort to match his pace to the rhythm, failing miserably at it.

Mordekai takes in a breath. Is... complicated. I am on journey to forget many things that made me hate self... made me hate everyone. Trained in martial style to find way to release. His steps slow for a moment before he goes back to a normal pace. After training, was made to wander, try to... reacclimate. Hope to curb certain habits, certain activities. I think if I can, I could... not a matter others should concern with.
Ezid would walk beside the Half Elf and the Teifling, listening to the Half Elf play his music for a short moment, before taking out his lute, and joining in. As he walked beside them, Ezid began playing his lute in perfect tune to the beat of the drums, a simple, yet joyous melody radiated out from the two musicians. As Ezid began to play, his neutral face beamed with a smile of pure happiness, the music soothing his ever present nervousness around people. he closed his eyes briefly, before opening them once more as they flashed a bright blue, as he cast Minor Illusion. A very faint, but noticeable Kaleidoscope of blue butterflies began to flutter out from the strings of Ezid's lute as he played on tune with the Half Elf, the butterflies fluttered around the group as they walked, waving around them like a ribbon before all simultaneously flying straight up, before vanishing into a faint cloud of blue light. The glow in Ezid's eyes returns to their regular light blue colour, as he clears his throat before looking to the side, in the direction of the rest of the group, "I'm terribly sorry, but I don't believe I caught your names earlier, did I?"
"Goblins attacked. They killed a couple people," as he says this, a look of sadness crosses his face. "We took care of them though. There may be more coming. May be something worse coming.
