You run up the stairs. Sabynn first. Just right behind her Cerau and Swan. A couple of steps behind her, runs Tyto accompanied by Mozilla floating few feet next to him. With each flight of stairs, your breath gets shorter. Wooden steps give a hollow sound with your feet hitting them.
Few moments later you reach the fourth level.
The door to the guard house above the sally port and the gate are opened. Two guards are inside and are getting ready with their bows. They look at you with fear in their eyes but also with some kind of determination. By one wall, you can see three bows and two crossbows lined up with one barrel of arrows and another one of crossbow bolts (about one hundred in each). Next, there are about ten javelins.
Inside the guard house are door to the other side of the parapet and stairs to the roof.

As she reaches the guard house, Sabynn looks back and she smiles and nods with relief as she sees Cerau, Tyto and Swan bravely following her to face the dragon. She gives the two guards a firm nod of reassurance, they would handle this somehow, and with grim determination she proceeds up on the stairs to the roof, trying to spot the blue dragon, her elven longbow ready in a firm grip.
Reaching the guard house, Cerau places a hand reassuringly on Sabynn's shoulder and whispers, "We stand with you," casting Guidance on Sabynn. She will also look out over the town to see if there are any ground forces in the distance that may be looking to use the dragon's movements as cover for other sinister movements.
The darkness of the night and smoke coming from several fires around the keep make noticing even something as big as a dragon difficult but you manage to notice some swirls of air and smoke caused by the dragon's wings. It's currently on the north-east side of the castle and is slowly turning south (marked A red).
@Cerau
From your point, the biggest group you can see is due north-west from the gate (marked B green). There you can see a bunch of the enemy forces. Small kobolds, human size figures and even some bigger creatures, however there is something else... Please make investigation check with your next post.
As you get ready , you can see a guard and few of the town folks getting ready their bows on the tower.
"There it is!" shouts a young man, aged about 18 or 19 who climbed on the roof of the tower. He has some kind of flag and keeps it pointed somewhere at the distance. You quickly realise he is pointing to the dragon.
"Six hundred!" he shouts still pointing to the distance.

The young man's shout pierces the air, following his gesture, Swan scans the distance. Her heart races as she spots the silhouette of the dragon, amidst the billowing clouds and swirling chaos. As the tension builds, Swan takes a deep breath, steeling herself for what is to come. Her gaze sweeps over the carefully lined up bows, crossbows, and barrels of ammunition. She approaches the bows and crossbows, ensuring they are in optimal condition and ready for immediate use. "Do you see anything?" She asks Cerau, seeing the cleric seems to be looking out at something.

As the young man with the flag calls out the direction and distance to their target, the white-haired elven maiden calmly and gracefully raises her longbow, taking a high aim and let's her arrow fly with a quiet whistling sound.
Elven Longbow with disadvantage due to long range: 12 Piercing: 10
She then swiftly draws another arrow from her quiver and readies herself for another volley.

"Five hundred!" Young man shouts pointing his flag to a dark shape in the distance.
The young man on the tower moves to the edge of the roof and tries to get safely to the parapet.
Sabynn counts silently the seconds... A hundred and fifty...should be ... now. She lets the arrow loose but still, a miss. Suddenly you all manage to see the swirls of smoke. Guards ready their bows, Escobert - his crossbow.
The man frantically gets down as the dragon was coming straight at him. He manages to jump down and is grabbed by one of the guards and waves to you indicating the direction the dragon is coming, however, just seconds later you can see, far on the left side of the tower - a flickering of sparks and electricity... The dragon somehow turned, and instead of going from the east, is going from the south.
It takes a deep breath. Hovers for a second about thirty feet to the south of the tower. His blue scales are covered in ged fire glow as it unleashes the fury. Two of the guards and the young man who were standing on the tower are engulfed in cracks of lightning. Their bodies are twisted in spasms and parts of the tower simply explode from the heat and energy unleashed.
Escobert and the guards stand in horror, however they manage to shake it off as Escobert barks "Get this filth out of there!"
He and the guards aim and shoot.

Leaving the attack to the more experienced archers, Swan squints and strains her eyes to catch a glimpse of what Cerau has spotted among the chaos, her gaze follows the direction of Cerau's pointing finger, and she sees the figures in the distance. The piercing wind blows against Swan's face, causing her blonde hair to flutter in the air. She can feel the tension and unease growing within her, turning to meet Cerau's gaze, she says, "They don't appear to be allies, Cerau. Their actions suggest otherwise. Why would they expose themselves like that unless they harbor ill intentions? It may not be wise to descend into their midst without a clearer understanding of their motives... But I'll go with you, if you think they have the answer to all this."

As the arrows are released, they fly over the courtyard and into the huge body of the dragon. Escobert's and Sabynn's projectiles miss, one arrow simply bounces from the scales of the creature but the last one somehow managed to pierce it's skin. The creature growls but not in pain but rather with a surprise... Still hovering just feet above the tower, it turns its head and growls "Hawrk'ghukech... Wux re vrinpict nomeno ui ti sia tav." With its words spoken, the dragon flaps it's wings and slowly raises into the sky. Moments later, when his shadow is only visible above the twirls of the smoke, you can see it turns south and flies away...
Loud cheers are heard from Escobert and one of the guards but the other one simply stays in his place, with his hands still holding his bow with disbelief...

Unperturbed by the dragon's arrogant words, Sabynn peeks up from her cover, and with an intricate pattern made with her slender fingers while speaking softly in elven she unleashes three darts of magical force, sweeping through the air and hitting into the massive frame of the blue dragon above the tower.
The three missiles split as they are leaving Sabynn's hand and fly into the night. Light blue traces can be seen as they hit and hurt the dragon. The roar fills the air however it gets quiet for a moment....
Suddenly again, a draconian language is heard from a distance."Si geou jinthil wux, keivon..." and then, it gets silent. Only wind and few flags still waving over the keep produce any sound.

A minute has passed as some of the guards and the townsfolk are going out of the tower. Over the parapet, the silhouette of the governor is visible again. He walks around the walls to join you and Escobert.
