Tyris moves over to the closed trap door and tries to open it, for a second it seems to be stuck, but then it opens to reveal the spiked tentacle hastily moving out of sight. To the south of the opening you can see Laladak's unmoving body. You don't see the creature the tentacle belongs to.
Oreus, Shadow, Alben are up, remember that crawling through the door and moving down there is considered Squeezing.
Squeezing into a Smaller Space
A creature can squeeze through a space that is large enough for a creature one size smaller than it. Thus, a Large creature can squeeze through a passage that's only 5 feet wide. While squeezing through a space, a creature must spend 1 extra foot for every foot it moves there, and it has disadvantage on attack rolls and Dexterity saving throws. Attack rolls against the creature have advantage while it's in the smaller space.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Shadow moves to the opening, drops a smoke stick inside to fill a 10 foot cube with thick opaque smoke. He will the drop down facing the direction of laladak and cunning action hide 14

Oreus rans towards the stage to help to open the trap door
The trap door is a hinged wooden door that opens (DM decided upwards and to the north) on it's readied action the creature below pulled the door closed and was trying to keep it closed. So it became a Strength contest (see spoiler for contest rules)
Contests
Sometimes one character's or monster's efforts are directly opposed to another's. This can occur when both of them are trying to do the same thing and only one can succeed, such as attempting to snatch up a magic ring that has fallen on the floor. This situation also applies when one of them is trying to prevent the other one from accomplishing a goal — for example, when a monster tries to force open a door that an adventurer is holding closed. In situations like these, the outcome is determined by a special form of ability check, called a contest.
Both participants in a contest make ability checks appropriate to their efforts. They apply all appropriate bonuses and penalties, but instead of comparing the total to a DC, they compare the totals of their two checks. The participant with the higher check total wins the contest. That character or monster either succeeds at the action or prevents the other one from succeeding.
If the contest results in a tie, the situation remains the same as it was before the contest. Thus, one contestant might win the contest by default. If two characters tie in a contest to snatch a ring off the floor, neither character grabs it. In a contest between a monster trying to open a door and an adventurer trying to keep the door closed, a tie means that the door remains shut.
Tyris already won the contest (at least for this round) and the trap door is again open. So you can change your action.
Tyris, feeling he wouldn't be overly useful with his bow in a small space filled with smoke, positions himself on the other side of the hole from Fellian and also readies himself to attack anyone who isn't an ally that comes up through the hole.

Not wanting to be the first through the door, Tyris steps over to it and does his best to yank it open to clear the way for someone sturdier.
Strength check: 16
(Had wrong character sheet open, should only be a +1, not a +2, but still leaves it as a 15)
