...and told the faerie drgonfly-herder my secret recipe for buttered blueberry scones in exchange for fourty thousand of her flock to carry me out of the ancient well, which was a steal of a deal on her end....
For the first twenty minutes of Nebs tale Rylef and the other patrons of the Broken Bow were politely listening.
By the hour mark they were dumbfounded that he was able to talk this much straight.
As the story finally came to an end three hours later the candles had melted to nubs and the fire on the hearth was almost down to embers. Everyone in the room besides Rely seemed to come out of a stupor and stir themselves. Rylef looks around and realizing the time scrambles to cleanup before bed.
"Well old friend, it seems the night is older than i am. I'm off to bed. But seeing your huge face is a welcome sight. We should try to get up to some mischief again soon. Goodnight...oh! I forgot to tell you about the boy! I thought the she-bears had got him but I ran into him a few months back and you won't believe what become of him. He... he... now what was it he said he's doing now? Hmmm... confound it, it was really something else. I'll think of it... "
Neb shuffles off to his room muttering under his breath.
The smile on rely's face, which started off fairly large, continued To grow through out the whole story. As the old dwarf patters off to bed, rely says, half under his breath"I knew you were alive."
looking around is eyes fall on the bustling Inn keeper. "Excuse me my good hobit. I was wondering if I might be able to convince you to allow me to sleep the night on the floor of your common room, or even in in the stables, in exchange for doing your chores? Normally I would just sleep in the woods, but it looks as if to soak a crackling out there tonight.
Rylef looks up towards the face of the enormous humanoid smiling down at her and grins back hesitantly.
"Hob bit?" She says with a confused look. "Never heard of him. Old friend of yours? Well regardless it's a pleasure to have your patronage. Fraid I don't have any beds that will accommodate some of your size but I can do a sight better than a stable or a floor. I have one room on the main floor that my worthless nephews share. I'll rouse them and get them to put the beds end to end. Should be close enough as won't matter."
At this point she reaches out with her small hand to shake Rely's enormous ham sized mitt realizing too late that she could find herself in significant pain if he isn't careful. Rely reaches down and engulfs her hand attempting to not crush it or lift Rylef entirely off the ground.
Athletics: 25
With practiced patience and skill Rely adjusts his pressure perfectly to match Rylef's. Rylef is incredibly relieved and a little surprised at his delicacy and finds her suspicions entirely disarmed.
"Oh don't you fret about that tonight tall one" Rylef says as she pats one of Rely's humongous hands. "We will get you settled to sleep and then worry about work tomorrow. Not as if I'll lose you in a crowd exactly is it!" she cackles. "But come to think of it I do have a few things I need taken care of first thing. So your's will be the first door I knock on. Now let me get to preparing your bed and I'll be right back." Rylef then quickly shuffles off towards a small room at the back corner of the common room to the right of the bar.
Suddenly there is a large commotion and two small figures come bursting out of the room being chased by Rylef and a dish rag that she is wielding as a bull whip.
"You'll sleep in the stable as you were told or you'll sleep in the street with a stray dog for a pillow!" she shouts after her nephews.
As the two figures rush through the kitchen door and out she turns to the rest of you. As she does the fire hasn't quite left her eyes and Neb is reminded of his time in the Underdark facing red eyed dueregar and flinchs uncontrollably. At this time the storm that had begun brewing outside finally let loose at the same time as the front door crashed open.
Dumbfounded by the never ending story of Neb's and bemused by Rylef's treatment of her difficult nephews, Sue is curious how strangely entertaining the night can continue to get. When the door busts open she is reaching for her lute.
The lightning in the evening sky behind highlights the tall armored form of Captain Omara standing silhouetted in the doorframe.
She stares coldeyed around the common room taking in all the sudden arrivals.
Rylef turns and clutching her hand to her throat lets out a relieved chuckle. "Omara what in the nine hells! You scared me near to death with your theatrics. Now get in here before you let in all the rain this side of the Daggerbay Mountains!"
Omara doesn't move from the door and only continues to gaze at all these new strangers in her town. She slowly moves her steel gray eyes from one person in the common room to the next. Her eyes widen slightly at the enormity of Rely but only momentarily before moving on. Under her breath she mutters something and then finally moves into the room slamming the door behind her.
She moves towards the stairs and mounts the first before turning around and facing the rest of you. After taking a moment and reassessing Rely's height she moves up another step and clears her throat.
"Well I only came to talk to the half elf but seeing as the rest of you... travelers.... are here you might as well listen too."
"Our illustrious Baron Dustin Brax has called you to the barony castle two hours after dawn. You will be here or you will be forced from town at spear point. Your weapons will taken from you at the gate and returned to you after the meeting.... if my lord wills it to be so. You are welcome to leave town beforehand and make you way to where fortunate carries you. Believe me nothing would make me happier to see the back of all you.... people.... leave our fair town as quickly as possible without bothering my master but he has a request and his will is my command."
With that she stomps down the stairs and forces her way back into the storm with no pause.
I am greatly amused by the tune that sue is playing, and how it makes the Omara, who seems to take herself all together too seriously, look rather comical.
I think to myself" it neb is going to go in the morning. And if this feisty lutist is going...... Well I might as well go too. There are worse company to be sure.".......
Neb draws deeply on his pipe and exhales the smoke in a long whistle.
"By great Granitebrows grey beard, where's LaThorp when you need him? That wench could use a good roll in the hay! You'r mighty dextrous on those string young Sue. Perhaps if we get a chance I'll teach you Lolth's lullaby. You need 8 arms to play it proper but I'm sure you'd do alright. Now, I don't know about the rest of you but I'll be headed to the castle on the morrow. Chances are this old barron has some trifling matter heis too lazy to do himself and too much gold weighing down his pockets. I for one could use some quick income and if nothing else he's sure to be an upity prig worth a good laugh in our cups later. I'll see you all at breakfast. Rylef!Have the eggs runny, the bacon crispy, the toast thickly buttered and a few mugs O' hearty brown beer ready for us at the break O' dawn. There's doins abrewin, mark my words. And tis always best to face death and danger on a full stomach as ol Gobbers use to say."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sue fully intends to join the other travellers in the morning. For now she merely continues strumming, stands up on her table and calmly walks toward the stairs, using the tables, nodding at the other travellers in agreement as she passes each one. As she defends up the stairs to her humble accommodations the fellow patrons hear her music slowly fading.
The fellow patrons hear the music come to a sudde and clumsy end as Sue stumbles on a stair. After some scuffling noises and a brief silence they hear the echo of her door shut.

Neb drains yet another tankard of ale, wipes his mouth on his sleeve and slams the mug back down on the table.
"...and that's how i got here today."
He finishes with a toothly grin.

I look tward the door
Neb turns at the commotion and his eyes widen in suprise...

I play a tune on my lute while Omara speaks and exits that comedicly exaggerates what she's saying.
