Seriously Mal you let the cadence of the horses movement put you to sleep, how did you not notice the ones hiding before they started to attack.
(Mal Init: 14)
Mal will roll off his mount and move to a nearby tree all the while loading his crossbow aiming at the enemy who seems to be possibly summoning something.
If all Zemochs are as easy targets as these why is Sparhawk so worried about this threat, it should be easy enough to kill them all, Mal wonders as he sees his bolts slam into the enemy.
So, they decided to show themselves already... most intriguing.
"Remember that we want at least one of them alive!"he exclaims, raising his staff up to cast a spell.
With words of power, Akkron casts hold person as a sixth-level spell. All five of the assailants must make a DC 21 Wis save or be paralyzed for as long as Akkron holds concentration (up to 1 minute).
If either of the casters successfully attempt to counterspell him, he will use his reaction to cast his own counterspell so that his casting is not interrupted. If that does not happen, he will instead use his reaction to cast silvery barbs on any Zemoch that makes the Wis save (prioritizing the spellcasters if more than one of the Zemochs makes its save) to force them to re-roll and take the lower result. If he ends up using Silvery Barbs, he will grant advantage to Dabbert's next roll.

So, looks like their counterspell failed and they are all paralyzed. Akkron looks at his handiwork with some pride, but he knows that the spell will only last for a relatively short time.
"Quickly, while my spell lasts we need to secure them! Make sure to gag their casters as well so that they can't speak their incantations."
"I'm going right now, Master Akkron!" Khessa exclaims, fully agreeing with the lich's proposed course of action.
Since traveling 50 yards... that is 150'... could waste her precious time, the blonde arcane warrior utters a few dry words of power - and immediately teleports, together with the faithful Alfred, next to one of the two paralyzed spellcasters. Without diverting her attention from the fight, she uses the clothes of the unfortunate drow to gag and hood him (OOC: It can be free object interaction, I would say, given that there are no distractions or conditions that make it difficult to interact with the drow's clothes - the paralyzed drow cannot oppose...).
"Don't worry..." she mutters, preparing to take a rope out of her backpack and tie the prisoner up. "We won't do to you anything like what you probably intended to do to us".
Mal will keep cover on the others as they go and tie up the prisoners, keeping a watch to see if anyone else decides to join the fray from any direction.

Rolled a 6 but because of the following, roll becomes a 10 so 18 total.

Other than hatred coming from his eyes, the Zemoch magic user is shaking in rage and the fact he can't move. You have seen the type before, only these Zemochs are slightly different. They have only two eyes, and they are not sensitive to sunlight.
The other 3 warriors who are paralyzed stare with hatred in their eyes as they too shake out of frustration of not being able to move. Their scimitars have fallen to the ground. Similiar to the Drow you know, there are some subtle differences as you secure them and bind them while they are still paralyzed. They wear black chain mail armor, and their scimitars are made from a dull black steel.
The final Zemoch you secure appears to be suffering from psychic damage. It appeared that it had tried to begin a summoning, but was stopped when he was paralyzed, causing magical feedback. He is wearing a dull black breastplate, and laying on the ground is a two-pronged looking weapon. Similar to the Drows from Faerun, this one does not appear to be sesitive to sunlight.
Of the last remaining Zemoch, he can't be found anywhere. Sir Sparhawk rides up, his lance held at the ready, and Brother Maynard comes up.
"Well now, I have never seen that before!" He exclaimed. "Five of them frozen in place just like that, amazing! Now I see why I was sent across the sea to find you. Most impressive."
Sparhawk nods, but has a serious look on his face, and Faran is giving you all a dirty look. Sparhawk pats his neck. "Don't mind him," Sparhawk comments, "He gets grumpy if he can't runover opponents in battle. The big question is, how did Zemochs get this deep into Camoria, and on the road to Chyrellos as well."
Brother Maynard nods. "It's like our enemy is watching us and wants to interfere with our quests."
Akkron can't help but chuckle at the predicament that the would-be assassins have found themselves in.
"Don't feel too feel too bad about yourselves for being defeated... there are very few who can stand up to the power of a lich,"he says as he reaches up and removes his cap. The illusory form of an old man disappears, revealing his true undead appearance. "Though perhaps you should feel bad about your tactics, or lack thereof. It is always best practice to assume your enemy is stronger than you are until proven otherwise. Far better to overestimate a pathetic foe than to underestimate a powerful one..."
Khessa finishes gagging and hooding the spellcasters - and tying up any Zemoch, whether spellcaster or not, anyway.
'Anator, brother of mine...' the blonde atrcane warrior meanwhile communicates mentally with the familiar perched on her shoulder and hidden under the cascade of her golden locks 'Can you sense the last Zemoch? The one that disappeared?'
(OOC: Being in bat form, Anator has Blindsight... if the Zemoch only made himself invisible, he should be able to spot him)
The tall adventuress is also very interested in the two-pronged looking weapon laying on the ground near the psychic-damaged summoner - and in what he was trying to do: "This one seems to have been shaken by not having completed his summoning... who knows who did he hope to invite to the party? An important guest, probably, if the spell to recall him was so powerful as to have these drawbacks... And who knows what powers this very interesting object has? If we plan to interrogate the prisoners here and now," she proposes "while you manipulate their minds I could take the time to identify what they possess... By charming them or reading their thoughts while questioning them, it should not be hard to discover how did they get this deep into Camoria".
If Anator has found no trace of the missing Zemoch, Khessa adds: "Or are you afraid that the Zemoch who managed to escape - a resourceful boy, I must admit - might return with reinforcements? I personally don't think it probable - if they had had other forces available, I suppose they would have used them immediately, to ensure a greater chance of success - but up to you all... Do you prefer that we leave immediately and postpone the investigation until later?"
Mal will go about the prisoners and remove any weapons that they might still have on them and gather all the items they dropped and dump them into a pile for Khessa to go over. She will then jog on over to the Windmill and see if she can pick up any trace of how long the Zemochs were here and any trakcs of where they possibly came from or if the one that espcaed came back this way.
Once he is done making fun of the Zemochs' tactical failings, Akkron becomes a bit more serious and approaches the Zemoch who suffered damage from psychic feedback... he suspects that this is an Inquisitor, but the fact that the individual is a male seems most unusual knowing Drow society.
"Just looking at them, they certainly are similar to the children of Lolth... but different as well. Drow Inquisitors are exclusively female, but it appears that the Zemochs are not quite as rigid in their gender roles. Most intriguing indeed... this casts significant doubt onto my hypothesis that the rumored demon queen that the Zemochs serve is one and the same as the spider queen who is served by the Drow."

So you all are clear about our options. We can try to interrogate them the old fashioned way. I also have a way to get answers from them, but only if they are dead.
