"Puny mosquitos," Tyek growls with contempt. He swings his greataxe with all of the concern of someone swatting away flies.
Movement: If vampire #2 dies on his first or second attack, move close enough to vampire #3 to help Vrox finish that one off. Action: Two Reckless Attacks with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder) Attacking vampire #2 until it's dead. Then attacking vampire #3. Attack 1: 32, Damage: 20 (magical thunder) + 22 (force) = 42 (total) Attack 2: 29, Damage: 26 (magical thunder) + 15 (force) = 41 (total) Bonus Action: if either of the attacks was a critical hit or reduced a creature to 0 HP, make one extra attack. 34, Damage: 24 (magical thunder) + 13 (force) = 37 (total) Free Action: Talking
Because of Reckless Attack, all attacks against Tyek have advantage until the start of his next turn.
As the last vampire falls, both Yoht and Brother Maynard look at them closely. "They are, or I should say were, Drukhari. They haven't been turned long." Brother Maynard states.
You hear that soft chuckle in your mind again. "Well, good help is so hard to find these days, don't you agree? You are correct, they are rather new at this stage of their beings." Both Yoht and Maynard look angrily at the ceiling and around the room.
"You did this to them; you made them into these creatures. Even for dark elves, they deserve better than this!" Yoht growls. The voice chuckles again. "Everyone has to feed, do they not? Whether its myself or even that old hag out there, don't we deserve our nourishment "
Yoht yells back,"This is an abomination and afront to the gods and you know it, you have abused your power and failed in your duties but being a savage, taking helpless lives for your pleasure!"
"What do you know of duty?" he growls back. "I did my duty as given to me by the church, isn't that right churchman?"
Brother Maynard shakes his head. "You corrupted your duty. You were charged to hold this pass after the culling, to make sure the dark forces would not enter or leave this valley. Yet it seems, the corruption took you and turned you into a monster." He points at the painting hanging. "It shows right there when you gave it all away, your soul and your duty, when you took that devils pact. Now you are as corrupt and evil as they are, those monstrosities that you were originally sworn to keep at bay. You have become one of them, I call you oath breaker."
There was silence for a brief moment. "I have held this pass for three hundred years, but now I am the power and all seek me out. So come and find me if you can."
Clarac has nothing to say to the voice who finds humor in the tragedy of vampirism. The Count would repent or burn in holy sunlight. Clarac does not even consider the other possibilities, that he would escape or prove victorious, except to consider ways to prevent their occurring.
Joining Brother Maynard, Clarac says, "I pray these ones never had to feed on the living during their short, miserable time as vampire spawn."
"Don't you see that, yes, you may have a little more power than before, but also a simply miserable existence to boot?" Khessa replies, saddened, to the voice, "An eternal existence... as prisoner of old grudges and in a place you can't leave. I call this a life sentence - made worse by the fact that 'life' will never end, for you. Still think you got a good deal? You were given an eternal life... but without the joys that make even a single day, a single hour, a single second precious."
"They're looking for you, you say?" the blonde arcane warrior continues "No... It's not you they're looking for... It's not you they're interested in... But your fleeting power. Those who seek you will exploit you - and throw you away like a used rag when you're no longer of use to them. Leave all this behind. Sit down with us and let's reason together. We'll find a way to give meaning to your existence again. Or do you really think that feeding on us - assuming you can - will really put an end to your hunger? You're not stupid... the hunger will always be there, eternal... and after each meal it will be greater than before. Don't look for futile solutions. Let's sit down together and join forces - for you and for us."
"I will not join forces with you, or anyone. Even these foolish Druhkari who think I am allied with them, are nothing but pawns and like you, will be offered as sacrifice to Lazivos, my great benefactor. They bring me nourishment as they make their sacrifices to their dark gods but is they who are being sacrificed to Lazivos. But enough talk, I am growing weary of it. If you are beings of action, then seek me out or wait and I'll come for you. Either way you will stand before me. You can flee and save your miserable, fleeting, short-lived lives."
He points at the painting hanging. "It shows right there when you gave it all away, your soul and your duty, when you took that devils pact. Now you are as corrupt and evil as they are, those monstrosities that you were originally sworn to keep at bay. You have become one of them, I call you oath breaker."
an oil painting depicts a handsome knight atop Drachen’s Peak. He carves the heart from a red-scaled dragon, while a devilish silhouette overlooks the scene.
Vrox does not like having Count Glauer's voice in his head, but as he cleans his blade, he comments to Clarac, "Pride speaks! But words offered in haste may be repented at leisure, no?" He wonders whether Count Glauer will say something in his taunting speeches that may help the group defeat him. The party has already killed vampires, but a vampire in a devil's pact may not be such an easy enemy.
Vrox looks at the portrait with interest. He assumes that the dark silhouette in the portrait must represent Lazivos. He is more familiar with the Feywild and the battles against the Unseelie Court than he is with gods and religions of Eosia. But the Unseelie Court allied itself with dark powers and would make pacts with devils in their quest for victory, so Vrox knows something of these fiendish foes.

The blonde arcane warrior heads for the center door - considering that, in the absence of clues, one is as good as another - and opens it.
Tyekanik, still in a rage and still Huge-sized, leans down and eyes the regular-sized door skeptically. He grimaces and grumbles about puny opponents and puny doors. He tells Khessa, "I'll stay here until everyone is through in case more enemies comes through the other two doors to attack from behind." He holds Annam's Greataxe in his hands and shifts his weight from one foot to the other, ready to spring in either direction if the door to the east or west opens when Khessa goes through the central door.
Tyek keeps his eyes and ears open, ready for the first sign of (more/new) danger. Perception: 24

"We shall see about that" Khessa shrouds. "But even then, you could never save yourself from your pathetic eternal life of captivity".
"Anyway, we're coming" the tall adventuress declares. "You better be ready - more than the pawns you sent after us now".
The blonde arcane warrior heads for the center door - considering that, in the absence of clues, one is as good as another - and opens it.
As you open the door, you are assailed with the sound of chanting, heavy smell of incense mixed with blood. Inside you see a ritual being performed in a large room. In the center of the room is a burning pentagram with a candle at its center. Tied to cross beams are five dwarves, each being tortured by a Druhkari, their blood flowing freely onto the floor and into the pentagram (these are shown as walking corpse tokens). Suspended from the columns are the remains of the reported humans seen earlier, dead with signs of severe trauma and torture had been inflicted upon them (marked as skeleton tokens). In the center is a vampire, wearing a black hooded cape, leading in a dark chant to the sound of the pipe organ that is playing in the background. The pipe organ, made of bones and bearing the symbol of an angel’s face, plays gothic music of its own accord.
Khessa can't help but think 'We really do have a talent for getting right into the middle of dark rituals, it seems... So, we might as well put that talent to good use - to stop them!'
The blonde arcane warrior wastes no time in lunging at the nearest Drukhari, while Alfred follows her with his solid unwavering loyalty: "Sorry to interrupt! But seriously... complain to your boss! If he had told us where to find him, we wouldn't have had to wander around and end up here!"
The tall adventuress then begins with a low-to-high thrust of the deadly Death Lance - a thrust immediately followed by two more, one on each side of the hapless opponent.
[[ OOC: Khessa just uses her Movement to reach the target and her Action to Multiattack him with her Death Lance ]]
You catch them by surprise, as they were focusing so intently on their ritual. Your attack strikes true, badly wounding the Druhkari to the very south of the circle.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Clarac looks through the doorway. She sees the tortured prisoners; she sees the dead prisoners. "No!" she cries. They were too late.
She casts a spell hoping to incinerate all traces of the evil ritual, or at least get the process going.
OOC:
Action: Cast Flame Strike centered on the pentagram --> DC 23 Dex save to take half of 17 Fire damage and 16 Radiant damage for all creatures in area (cylinder of 10 ft. radius, 40 ft. height) Movement: 30 ft. towards nearest remaining enemy
As Khessa headed for the door, Vrox sheathed his sword and stowed his shield, getting ready to switch back to his bow. He thinks that they might be able to open the door quietly, peek through, see what's in the next room, and decide as a group...
And then Khessa threw open the door, called out to the foes, and raced into the fight. Vrox makes a vexed "tsk" sound and heads for the door.
Vrox: Round 1
Vrox moves into the ritual chamber (chapel?), takes his Dragon's Wrath Longbow from his magical quiver, and surveys the potential opponents. Seeing another vampire and knowing that his bow does radiant damage, Vrox fires two arrows at the vampire and then continues to his right, hiding behind the pillar where one of the human bodies is tied up.
Movement: Up to 40 ft. to move through the door and to the pillar w/ the skeleton marker at the southeast. Action: Two attacks with Dragon's Wrath Longbow (150/600) Attack 1 against vampire: 28 Damage: 16 (magical piercing) + 9 (radiant) = 25 (total) Attack 2 against vampire: 17 Damage: 14 (magical piercing) + 14 (radiant) = 28 (total) The first hit does an additional 2 (psychic), or if it was a critical hit, 3 (psychic) Bonus Action: Hide - Stealth34 (using Vanish feature, with advantage from Shadowfell Brand Tattoo) Free Action: Equip his bow. Drawing arrows.
Tyekanik is not going to miss a fight! Since nothing poured forth from the other two doors when Khessa rushed through the central door, he tries to follow. But since he's currently Huge-sized, he has to release his rage and shrink back to his "regular" size -- that of a massive goliath over 7 ft tall -- to fit through the narrow doorway. Tyek doesn't have enough movement to make it from the entrance hallway and all the way into melee range this round. He moves into the room, heading toward the right. He releases his greataxe with one hand and, pulling his magical javelins from their case, hurls them at the opponents.
Bonus Action: End his current rage Movement: 40 ft. of movement to move from his place in the entrance hall (about 15 ft south of the door), into the next chamber, and toward the right. He probably ends his movement about 10 - 15 ft southeast of Khessa. (~10 ft south of the pentagram and about 5 - 10 ft to the right/east of center.) Action: Two Attacks with +3 javelins. Tyek wants to clear the way to the vampire. If Khessa's opponent is still alive, he targets that one. If it dies, he targets the vampire. Attack 1: 20, Damage: 14 (magical piercing)(total) Attack 2: 23, Damage: 14 (magical piercing)(total) Free Action: Drawing javelins.
Note that Tyek is not using Reckless Attack this round, so attacks against him are "regular" this round.

Vampire three succumbs to your attack, there is almost a look of relief on his face as he fades.
