(Assuming Amery and Thar don't have anything to add)
After Omen attempts to hide the fact that the small book has been all but annihilated, the party starts to file out. When entering the sitting room, the mayor stands back up and moves to see you out. "I hope you found some answers, and...thank you for taking on this mission. You have no idea how much it means to me."
Exiting the mannor, Kalgren hesitates at the door for a moment before clearing his throat. "I think it may be time for us to part ways. I'd like to head back to the inn and speak with Sir Cassian about a few things. Then I think I'll look around for that drow, as I have a few questions for him as well. If you are indeed heading for the woods, I wish you good luck." Tipping his hat to you, he heads back towards the Stonedog.
(Are you heading strait for the woods? Or did you want to hit the market first?)
"Come on, let's swing by the market to pick up some torches and oil."
Kit pauses for a moment. She was being sarcastic about bringing an offering to the druid, a subtlety that was lost on Omen, but the Kenku's response had struck a chord.
"And maybe we can find something to appease that witch, at least long enough to find out what's really going on here."
"I think bringing something that could be considered an offering would work to our advantage." The kenku would reply as he eagerly puts some distance between himself and the ruined book. Omen was surprisingly flustered after having destroyed potentially crucial evidence... especially since he is normally very careful when handling such things. "I say we pick out something that a dangerous elf waitch druid might like. If it is something we can fill with oil, then even better. Perhaps we could prepare a gift that can also act like an explosive if needed." Omen adds with a smile. The farther they get from the house the more relaxed he becomes. As they continue down the road he would pull out some of the unopened letters from inside his coat and begin reading them aloud for the party.
Opening one of the letters, Omen reads aloud a plea for help... it appears this was a letter that the Mayor had written to one of the larger cities. Apparently they had returned it. Opening the next few he managed to snag, he reads nearly the same thing. Each of these letters are requests for aid, whether it be knights or investigators with offer of payment, and each was sent to the capitol. However, each appears to have been returned to the mayor, unopened and unread.
It doesn't take long to get from the mayor's residence to the town bazaar. Entering the main street, you easily locate a booth selling torches and other types of simple tools like wood axes and saws. The owner of the booth is sitting far back under the canopy, clearly not expecting much business. Walking down the road, you note that many of the booths are empty, or even abandoned. Some of the abandoned booths still contain whatever goods were sold there. One such booth contains porcelain bowls, plates, and vases, another features wooden furniture. Among the still open stores, is a jeweler, a fletcher, an armorer, the previously mentioned utility booth, and what appears to be an antiques and oddities booth.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Omen would give Kit a nod and make his way towards the antiques booth. He was looking for something of value while being reasonably priced. The kenku didn' t have a lot of coin so he was looking for a deal. Once he was close to the stand, he would scan the booth for anything of value..
(Make sure you took back the gold you loaned to Kit for housing and feeding the kids. Kit returned it when she didn't need it. I believe it was 8 gold? That goes for the 10 Thar loaned her as well.)
Kit heads to the general store and picks up the supplies the group will likely need should things go badly in the maze. (assuming standard prices and availability) She spends her last 8 silver on 7 flasks of oil and 10 torches.
"No sense in saving anything," she thinks to herself, "I imagine after this we'll either collect our reward or..."She doesn't allow herself to complete the thought. Why tempt fate again? Though she can't help but feel that, through some strange circumstance, her life has circled back to the mine and those she lost. Perhaps the debts of her past have finally come due...
"Here. With any luck this should be enough to finish the job," Kit says as she hands Omen and Thar each 3 flasks of oil and 3 torches.
The man sitting under the canopy looks up sharply with an expression of disbelief mixed with dull excitement as Kit approaches. "Oil and Torches? Oh yes I have just what you need." He says quickly, he fumbles a bit when pulling out the torches. It's as if he thinks he needs to move twice as fast as a normal merchant to ensure his costumer doesn't lose interest...despite the fact that he's the only one in town selling what you need. Before you know it, he's placed the 7 flasks and 10 torches on the counter in front of you. After you pay him, he thanks you several times and even bows once. When you leave to follow Omen and Thar, he waves, "Farewell miss! Good luck on you quest!"
When Omen walks up to the antiques booth, a slim aged woman glides out of the curtains at the back of the booth and rests her arms on the counter. It's almost as if she sensed your presence just as you arrived. "I haven't had many costumers as of late." She says in a smooth voice, "Do look around, feel free to ask me anything." Looking around, most of what Omen sees is well...a lot of junk, trinkets a sketchy salesman would try to pass off as magical totems and the like. However, there are a few items of value mixed in, some of which catch your eye. These items are; a small perfume vial, it is ornately decorated with lavender and larkspur flower pasterns; a small flower pot which is a deep red-pink gradient, a small charm shaped like a raccoon's head, and a staff decorated with vines of ivy and topped with a white crystal daisy.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Omen examines the items that appear to have some value. "Excuse me miss, I'm looking to purchase a gift for a dear friend. Could you tell me how much these items cost?" The kenku asks with a tip of his had before motioning towards the staff, and the pot. As he moves his hat over the table to point towards the pot and staff, he would attempt to gently scoop the racoon head charm into his hat before quickly tucking it into his jacket.

(Is Kit just wandering or will she look out for anything else?)
"Well you are in luck!" She says smoothly, "Everything is half off due to...well...the current circumstances." She nods to the items, "With the discount considered, that staff will be 50gp and the pot is 25gp. Both have magical properties, so if you were to resell them outside of Withermore, you'd be able to double if not triple my price. Haha, and both would make fine gifts of course."
As she moves to lift the flower pot, Omen skillfully slips the small pendent into his sleeve leaving the saleswoman none the wiser. Placing the pot in front of Omen she continues, "This may look like a normal pot, but if you simply place a seed of any kind inside of it you can have whatever flower your heart desires. Simply place a seed inside and speak aloud, 'I wish for a lily' or whatever flower you want, and it will summon soil and water while magically cultivating your chosen plant within a few moments. The flower will never wither nor fade so long as it is in this pot. And if you get tired of whatever plant you chose, you can simply dump out the dirt and start over."
Kit won't wander far. She's out of coin and unlike some people she's no thief😉❤️. She'll mill about the square waiting for the others. If she happens to spot any children around, she might put on a little show (storytelling, songs, jokes, playing her thelarr, and some Prestidigitation and Sleight of Hand magic) to entertain them until Omen and Thar return.

"Well that flower pot certainly does seem very useful... and what about the staff? can you provide any additional information on it for me as well?" The kenku asks with a smile.
Kit mills about, looking for folks to entertain. She quickly notices that there really aren't many children out and about. At least not without an adult around, but with the current circumstances, that's understandable.
However, after pulling out her instrument and playing a few notes, a child pulls her mother over to listen, and another child follows suit dragging his father and sister. Soon several more people gather around. Some simply gather in the streets, others watch from windows before eventually joining. Eventually, Kit finds herself entertaining a small crowd, about a third of which are children. As she continues playing, she can tell her songs and stories are lifting the mood of these troubled townsfolk. With their parent's permission, several of the children gather flowers (none of which are roses thankfully) and present them to the half-elf. Some of the older population even offer her some coins. (You get 7 sp)
Meanwhile, Omen inquires about the staff. Setting the pot down, the woman brings the staff over and lays it on the counter. She chuckles, "You seem to have an eye for items possessing the power of nature. Haha! Is this a gift for a lady friend?" She cackles, "Don't answer that if you don't want to!" Grinning, she continues, "This is a Staff of Flowers. This staff can be used to summon any kind of flower ten times a day. On top of that, his specific staff is a bit of a relic." Her voice lowers, "It used to belong to the family who founded this town. Haha, at least that's what my grandma told me!"
Kit can't help but feel guilty taking coin from people who obviously have so little, but she balms her guilt with the belief that the trio of her, Omen, and Thar can remove the curse; and the resolve to spread as much coin from their reward around town as she can before they make the journey home.
She desperately hopes that she doesn't run out of material before her companions return from their shopping...
"Well thank you for telling me about these items.. I'm afraid I don't have quite enough gold on me to afford either of these wonderful trinkets." The kenku says with a disappointed nod. "Perhaps we could make a deal. You see... my companions and I are trying to save the town from the monsters that come out at night. We hope to use these trinkets to help us succeed. Could I give you 5 gold now to simply borrow the flower pot? If it helps us to save the town, I'll use the reward money to pay you the rest. If it doesn't help us to save the town... then i'll simply return the pot to you and you keep my 5 gold. What do you say? Do we have a deal?" Omen asks with a smile as he extends a gloved hand towards the woman.
