Assuming that there is no further questions (if there is, I'm happy to jump back to them)
Your journey goes smoothly, and as you arrive on the third day just as dusk falls, you see the unmistakable sight of the carnival.
The first stars of night twinkle above the apricot sunset. Giant dragonflies whir overhead, trailing streamers, and a low mist curls over the ground. Through a floral archway, you glimpse wondrous and vibrant creatures—elf stilt walkers, dancing faeries, and painted performers. Everywhere there is laughter, pixie dust, bubbles, and the wistful tune of a whistling calliope. You see lots of excited guests queuing at the ticket booth, which has a silver statue of a dancing fairy mounted to the rood and an animated depiction of the night sky complete with shooting stars decorating the sides. An old goblin with an earhorn and spyglass is at the booth selling tickets to customers.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Can I assume he was ok with me taking a bottle of his good stuff? ;)
Moneo, too, cannot contain his excitement, and follows Revelry with a bit of a jump in his step (which is a bit longer than most jumps thanks to his goat legs). As he approaches he leaps ((11+7feet)) into the air to pop a bubble before heading to the counter to say, "And one for me as well friend! Any discount for Fey?"((persuasion 24))
The goblin looks at you both, and at the other two in the party still on their way over, and pushes the gold piece back to Revelry. He picks up an ornate wooden box with the initial N.M. on top, opens the clasp and pulls out 4 tickets before replacing the box below. "These have been pre-purchased for you by an anonymous benefactor. Most attractions cost 1 punch of the ticket, and a ticket is good for 8 punches. If you wish to do more after this, you need to buy another one. Tickets cost 8sp, discounts for children only, not fey, but I am willing to make a fey pact with you in exchange for the ticket instead of money if you do return for another ticket." He then hands you all (assuming the other 2 have come over during this) a pair of colourful cloth butterfly wings and a map. "You must wear these wings to show the staff that you have paid for entry."
“Oh how fun!”Moneo says putting on his wings and jumping into the air to watch them flap in the wind. Landing he looks over the map and to the others says, “There is a lot here! How about the Pixie Kingdom first?!” And quickly goes back to the front desk and says, “Is there a schedule for shows at the Big Top?”
((What would Moneo know about what a ‘fey pact’ is?))
Surprised by the unexpected free pass, Revelry takes his gold coin and put it back on a leather pouch tied to his waist. “The old man probably bought us the tickets in advance, but his initial didn’t match. M.R not N.M” He wonders.
”Well no matter, thank you anyway good Ser.” He says to the goblin.
Revelry then takes the remaining tickets and shares it with Dravos and Barreknar, before choosing a pair of butterfly wings with blue and orange color.
“Think this would look good with my attire?” He tries the wings on.
((What would Moneo know about what a ‘fey pact’ is?))
They can vary. They effectively boil down to a magic promise. Depending on the severity, you might be bound to do something, or it might be that you can break it, but at a cost (in this case, losing your ticket)
"Shows are always on at the big top. It is free to enter. Acts change regularly, and may take longer or shorter depending on the audience so no specific schedule for them. The only schedule is the 2 main events. The Big Top Extravaganza at midnight, which is always worth watching, and if you are feeling brave, there is opportunity to do an act for fun. And then the crowning of the Witchlight Monarch just before dawn. Only one person is crowned. Could it be you?"
“The old man probably bought us the tickets in advance, but his initial didn’t match. M.R not N.M” He wonders.
Assuming that the wondering was out loud, the goblin replies "The box is mine, Nikolas Midnight at your service. The tickets are not mine. I was asked not to divulge the information on who brought them for you, but I will say that they are not an from old man, and are in fact provided by a fellow guest of the carnival."
“Apologize Mr. Midnight. I must have mistaken then.” He bows courteously to the goblin.
“Interesting that our benefactors are also inside the carnival, I wonder if we would met them.”He rubs his chin as he thinks who would know all of them to have given them free tickets.
He returns to the group after realizing he has lost in thought for a moment and began to examine the map as people are getting ready with their butterfly wings.
“There are so many attraction in this place. Should we split up the party or stay together?”He asks the group.
”Splitting up would save us time, we can explore on our own and meet during the Big Top Extravaganza at midnight to discuss our findings.” He continued.
"Oooo I'll take me ticket!" Excited like a big kid, clearly forgetting they were there for a purpose. "Mister ticket master Sir, where are the rides with prizes? I don't know what I'm going to do first" Maybe there is a horned helmet as a prize, I must search the whole place and find out. He quickly changed from overly excited, bouncing from one foot to the other, to looking determined and game planning. Not really listening to the others talk about the plan as far as staying together vs meeting up.
"We should stick together,"Moneo says, calming down a bit. "I am as excited as the rest of you, but we are here to find the entrance to the Feywild afterall. We should also keep out eyes out for the proprietors of this carnival, they surely know how this place travels." He then looks for a clock to know the time so that they can better plan and says, "How about we each choose one destination from the map and explore together. That should leave us time to see the show at midnight, and we can plan where to go after that."
"Ahhh what one comes with the biggest prizes? The mines? Nah too dark. The pixies? Nah they play too many jokes. Snail racing? Sounds like we may have a winner! I can out races snails!"
After taking a pair of the wings, he studies them a bit. "Will I be able to fly with these? Otherwise I think they will just slow me down in the race."
"Pixies for my choice. Gotta meet some other Fey to see what's happening and what we might expect." Moneo says pondering. "Which one first? I can be patient. One of you guys wanna take the lead?"
“Pixie Kingdom is the nearest one and across from that is the Snail Race. We probably should go to Pixie first then the race. I can wait to ride dragonflies, it’s all the way on the other side.” He says while pointing at the map.
"Mister ticket master Sir, where are the rides with prizes? I don't know what I'm going to do first"
"There is a contest at the Feasting Orchard with a prize for the winner, I believe the pixies have some sort of prize for a game, the snail racing has prizes and then there are stalls around that sell items or have games to win prizes. These move around so aren't named. Where a stall sold drinks yesterday, it might have a staring competition with a cyclops today."
“Pixie Kingdom is the nearest one and across from that is the Snail Race. We probably should go to Pixie first then the race. I can wait to ride dragonflies, it’s all the way on the other side.” He says while pointing at the map.
He looks at Dravos next. “Where do you wanna go?”
“Well then I won’t say no to my choice first,” Moneo grins. “Pixies and then let’s see what else this place holds! We have four hours until the show. That should give us just enough time for one event each. Onward!” He then begins an upstep March towards the pixie kingdom.
On your way to the Pixie Kingdom, you pass by 2 small stalls. One is selling candied apples served on a large flower petal (costs 1 ticket punch), the other is hosting a game of "Catch the dragon by the tail". While blindfolded in the booth, you must catch the tail of a red faerie dragon that is fluttering around you. Also costs a ticket punch. If you are interested in playing that on your way past, roll 3 perception checks and a d8 (just to save time, rolling everything in one go).
A copse of oak trees shelters a miniaturized fairground. At its heart, a hamster runs inside a tiny Ferris wheel, encircled by minuscule wagons and candy stalls. A pixie sits cross-legged in the hollow of a tree at the entrance to this realm. "Welcome to the best attraction this carnival has to offer, entry for just 1 ticket punch. Get to experience life as a pixie for up to an hour!"

Revelry is at awe with the wondrous carnival in front of them, he looks around enjoying the mood and festivities.
“They’re not kidding it really is a carnival.” He commented as they arrived.
Seeing the old goblin selling tickets, Revelry runs towards the booth and asks for a ticket.

Dravos graciously accepts the free ticket but grumbles about having to wear a pair of colourful wings, "These do not fit my usual attire."
He then turns to the group, "We could split up, but what if we ran into trouble at the carnival?"
