Then he tries to position himself between the party and the ghouls.
Also, to be clear, Hewelathan was trying to ensure that the ghouls would have to pass him (opportunity attack!) if they wanted to attack anyone other than him, the orcs, and possibly Hildegard (assuming that she decides to engage them in melee too).
Hildegard urges Perdita forward, riding up to the nearest wounded ghoul, attacking with her longsword as she rides the nightmare past it, then spinning her mount around and riding away back to the group.
Movement: Perdita to nearest ghoul (I am not sure of the distance but assuming that it is close enough for this movement in and out of melee range) and back again to her original position, taking the Disengage action.
To hit (with advantage from Mounted Combatant): 20 (dirty)
Hildegard deals some solid damage to ghoul 2 before flying away again.
The unfortunate ghouls are finally up! Ghoul 2 is going to try to rip through Orc Brute 1 with its claws (with advantage from the recklessness of the orc)
Ghoul 2 vs. OB 1 Attack: 13 Damage: 7 Con save if the attack hits: 10
Ghoul 3 goes after Orc Brute 2
Ghoul 3 vs. OB 2 Attack: 21 Damage: 8 Con save if the attack hits 10
Ghoul 4 meanwhile is going to try to take out the angry bear.
Ghoul 3 vs. Hew-bear Attack: 24 Damage: 12
If the attack hits, Hewelathan must make a DC 10 Con save or be paralyzed for 1 minute (though you will be able to repeat the Con save at the start of every round if you fail initially)
Copy-paste error... that's what I get for running 3 games and a playing in about 5 lol
(OOC: OK. I'll just take that first roll, making it an 8. Regarding multiple games: I hear ya!)
Hewelathan: Round 1 (results)
The ghoul (#3) tries to attack the big, juicy-looking bear, but because of the scrum of fighters suddenly engaged in combat, it can only make an awkward swipe, catching nothing but air. The bear turns to glare at it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Breath weapon recharge on 6: 6
Even though his first breath weapon only sourched them Tamphalic goes for it again.
DC12 dex save or take 1 lightning damage and no reaction in a 30ft line.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
"What a fancy, fierce bear!"Jodie exclaims with glee as the adorned Hewey-bear shreds the ghouls apart. Jodie takes out her lute and plucks a little melody
Hewelathan clearly plans to remain in bear form for now in case the group runs into any other undead in the next hour. After the fight, Hew-bear gives Jodie an odd look, thinking that the music sounds out of place in this quiet, sepulchral place. But as the bear sniffs around the area, you see that the his backside is bobbing and swaying happily to the song.
(OOC: @Weathervision - note that Hew-bear has "keen smell": advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell. You'll have to let me know if any future perception checks would benefit from that feature.)
(OOC: Thanks! That's a really clear way of presenting the state of the fight for "theater of the mind" combat. 👍
But Ghoul 2 should have 10 damage, right? Tamphalic hit two of the ghouls with his lightning breath.)
You're right, it did take 1 damage from Tamphalic. My bad.
