Darwin grew up in the throws of luxury and comfort with everything he wanted at his fingertips. All this was ripped away from him when he was only 12 when a group of devils stormed the castle and destroyed everything. His parents died in the attack and they kidnapped all the children. He was forced into manual labor for 10 years, there he grew a deep hatred for the infernals but also learned that he could talk his way into and out of anything. Darwin escaped captivity but no one knows how. 5 years have passed and he now looks to put an end to Infernals from the source.
backstory: Raised by two gnomish history professors, Rakeni was taught to revere both the written word and the rich oral history traditions of many races. When she expressed interest in music and performance, her parents enrolled her in bardic training program at their university. Rake loves learning the histories and legacies captured in epic bardic ballads, as well as the snippets of daily life discernible from songs as ‘mundane’ as nursery rhymes or sea shanties. She asks everyone she meets to sing for her the “bedtime lullaby” and “clean up / chore time” songs they heard as a child, and is compiling a massive reference text of the various melodies and lyrics across regions and cultures.

reframed Rakeni as a level 3 cleric, Knowledge domain. Still Sage/Researcher background. She’s a disciple of Baerven Wildwanderer, the gnome deity of forests, travel, and nature. She’s driven to join this quest in order to protect the forest lands and inhabitants from the inevitable destruction that would befall them if archdevils took over the world.
changed my uncommon item from restorative ointment to Amulet of Devout (and will go prepare some healing spells to replace the ointment’s role)
