Eliae's smile brightens as she turns to the Harengon. "I agree," she emphasises with a quick nod. "Sticking together sounds like a good way for us to all get to know one another.”
The half-elf’s focus shifts to the slip of paper. She scans its contents carefully, her eyes moving swiftly across the page as she examines its contents. A furrow forms between her brows as she concentrates, her mind already racing to decipher the clues laid out before her. She has always relished games of intellect like this one, and her competitive spirit only serves to fuel her eagerness to dive right into the treasure hunt.
"Hmmm," she muses thoughtfully. "'Ensnarled in light.' So, we must be on the lookout for some kind of notable light source, right?" Her gaze briefly wanders to the grand architecture of the Biblioplex before returning to the paper. "A rather large one too, if we are to be 'ensnarled' within it."
"I think we should stick together. Best friends get the most done when we work as one!"
"I agree. After all, it's hard to learn about each other if we're separated."He gives a half smile to the group. "Where should we start? Based on the clues provided, it seems like our destinations are the oracle, the art gallery, one of the cafés, the gardens, and the amphitheater. I'm in favor of the gallery myself but it makes near as no difference to me."
"Ah, but where are my manners?" He bows to his fellows. "I am Venrys Stradovari of the barony of Szarcozia. It's a pleasure to meet you all."
Weaver wears a grin that threatens to split her face in two. She agrees with Theodore that small folk and big friends make good company. "I would definitely like to stick together, and I think this is going to be the most fun first day of school ever! Not that I have anything to compare it to since I've never been to any school but I can't imagine anywhere else has talking automatons or information desks or treasure hunts or big glowy Oracle lights like that one over there! Hey, I wonder, are there other groups of first year students playing the same treasure hunt?"
Dwal watches his new "companions" with a bit of indifference. He shakes his head and sighs upon hearing about the "treasure hunt." "Didn't come ta be toyed with," he mutters under his breath. "Came ta learn." The dwarf stays with the group but says little, his mood soured over games rather than learning.
Ooboron's ears flap self-consciously as Theodore points him out as the "biggest best friend". What is going on? The only time he ever gets this much attention is when he's with his grandmother or on stage. He looks down at his clothes. No, nothing unusual there that should draw attention to him. He's never spent any time with any other races besides loxodons. And the loxodons of his tribe at that. These little folk have a confusing interest in him. He scrutinizes the finely dressed bunny person. He wonders what Theodore's story is.
When Venrys introduces himself, Ooboron believes he looks very regal. He must be from a king's family or something, he thinks. He smiles, half covering it with a hand so no one can see. He looks down at the piece of paper again. He tries to take in the words, but his mind keeps paying more attention to what the others are saying.
Eliae turns to Weaver with a thoughtful expression, as though pondering her question. "Yes, I imagine we are all given some such activity to partake in, though perhaps not exactly the same one," she muses aloud. "Though perhaps it is the same, and we're all competing in one large treasure-hunting competition. The paper does say there are prizes to be won." A sudden flicker of realisation crosses her face as she registers the fairy’s words. "Wait a moment - 'big glowy oracle lights?’ That might just be the answer to our first clue, don't you think? Perhaps we should head there?" Her voice carries a note of excitement as she poses the question to the group.
Her attention then shifts to Venrys, a shy smile gracing her lips as she addresses him. "Ah, it seems you have already figured it out. If you would prefer to start at the gallery, we could certainly do so instead. But it does seem to make sense to follow the clues in numerical order." Eliae's gaze sweeps around the group. "What do you guys think? Any preferences or suggestions?"
With the presumption that the oracle light is the biggest thing in the building, Theodore would agree that that would be a good place to go. Get the obvious clues out of the way first and all. Also going to presume that there are other groups and singles running about doing the quests. Maybe it is a competition?
"Well best friends, I'm thinking maybe go towards that big glowy thing. It might even lighten your mood eh?" He pats Dwal's elbow sheepishly.

Hi, I'm Raccoon_Master,The Rocket Raccoon/Trashcan Tactician (as appointed by Drummer). Pronouns They/Them/Theirs.
My Characters: Brorminthe Crusher; Discoverythe Keeper; Theathe Scoundrel; Jorvirthe Weaver; Threlan,the Speaker; Zolyathe Inspired; Penley the Devourer;
Weaver, being short but trying not to use her wings too much, is sort of in the back of the group, without much of a view. She'll drop to her hands and knees and try to crawl through the crowd to where she can get a better look... And when she does, she goes full "moth to the flame" and starts walking into the light, hands outstretched. "Oooh, it's beautiful!"
As your hand caresses the light, it seems as if your hand melds into it. A surge of power flows through you, as you feel an object appear in your hand. You pull it out to see a potion of healing
a voice speaks in your mind "Congrats! You have solved the first clue!"
Elsenia watches the fairy float up toward the light. Then a healing potion magically appears in her hand. Elsenia's eyes go wide.
"That was incredible!" she exclaims to Weaver. "Good job. What's the next clue again?"
The druid reads the scrap of paper out loud, "Alumni commission works when they retire, seeking promising mages to inspire. Hmm...you think it's the art gallery, Venrys?"

Characters: Bryony Alderleaf - Lvl. 3 Halfling Rogue (Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk) ♦ Evelyn Drake - Lvl. 3 Human Wizard (Rule of Change) ♦ Aranea Kendrick - Lvl. 4 Human Warlock (Where the Cold Winds Blow) ♦ Elsenia Vesper - Lvl. 2 Shadar-kai Druid (Strixhaven)
Theo also comes up with a potion of healing as well as inspiration for roleplaying. Weaver can take an inspiration as well. If anyone else reaches towards the light, they come up with a potion of healing
Venrys offered a polite clap as Weaver seemed to reach the same conclusion he did. "Well done! We'll get this game figured out in no time!" He reaches into the light and retrieves a Potion of Healing for himself
He turned to Elsenia. For a moment he hesitated, then smiled. "I think the gallery makes the most sense. Shall we?" He gestured towards the northwest corner of the building. "By the way, miss Elsenia? I hope you don't mind my asking, but where do you hail from? I don't think I've encountered someone like you before."
Elsenia decided to mimic Weaver and Theodore. She raised her hand to the light and to her astonishment a potion of healing appeared in her grasp. "This is most useful," she murmurs.
The Shadar-kai turns to Venrys. She smiles shyly. "I hail from the Shadowfell, another plane of existence. It is a dark and dreary place. I am so happy to be here," she says. She looks like she is on the verge of saying more but stops herself; she is afraid of babbling in front of her new companions. She wishes to make a good impression on them.

Weaver is very excited to have been so helpful. Already! She gives Venrys an enthusiastic thumbs up, and then settles in next to Dwal. "See? We are learning - we're learning where everything is, and all about each other! I'm sure we can teach each other things, too! Like, I can do some pretty cool things. What's your favorite smell?" She looks up into Dwal's dwarven features, noting that he's kind of like a gnome, but much sturdier. Bigger beard, too. His beard needs flowers in it. And maybe a small family of field mice can live in there too. Maybe she'd find some mice and ask them. Do the mice here talk? The rabbits seem to. Where were we going again? Oh, yes, the gallery!
Dwal nods as Weaver comes back and shows her prize. "Very nice." he says with a slight smile. Though he tries to maintain his dwarven dower demeanor, Weaver reminds him of the elven female who taught him magic, full of life and wonder. Nothing a respectable dwarf would show outright but he appreciates it because of its innocence. When Weaver settles in next to him he listens and smiles once or twice out of nothing but sheer enjoyment of the company. Keeping his respectable dwarven composure he nods and follows the group.
Curiosity piqued, Eliae reaches up towards the glowing light, retrieving her own potion of healing. "How interesting! I wonder what sort of magic they used to make this work..”
As Elsenia and Venrys exchange words nearby, Eliae's attention is drawn to the conversation. She offers Elsenia a curious glance, her eyes sparkling with interest. "Then you are a Shadar-kai, correct? Fascinating! I have read of your kind, but never yet met any. I have heard you are quite rare to find on this plane. How did you end up here?"
A faint flush rushes to the half-elf's freckled cheeks as she realises her words might have sounded overly inquisitive, if not outright nosy, and she quickly backtracks. "Oh my, I hope that was not rude of me. What I meant to say was..." Her posture straightens slightly as she attempts, albeit unsuccessfully, to appear more formal, trying to mimic the greetings she had seen used by her father and his various guests.
"It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance," she concludes with a slightly abashed smile.

Theodore grins and reaches his hand towards the light, hopefully it works the same for everybody not just just magic folk.
He hopes somebody will drop a clue as to what an alumni is. If it's some kind of creature maybe his regular skills can deal with it.
