Jaya offers, “Unless we want to keep a modicum of stealth, can we just throw a few of those skulls at the door from a distance and attempt to trigger it?”
Rico interrupts, "Unless Nikk is going to disarm the traps with a spell, I think I would be the best at disarming the traps. Though any thing Nikk can tell me about the trap would help."
OOC: Rico has both Arcana and Thieve's tools familiarity for disarming magical traps.
Durnan's voice piques up: "It's. Not a. Simple. Trap. It's a. Glyph. With. An unknown. Condition. Whatever it. Is, the. Magic. Is. Strong."
The kenku thinks for a moment.
"There. Are. Options. We have. Chains. Pull. The doors. Open from. Afar. Or I. Burn it. With Fire. Or we. Use. Magic. And picks. Two. Options make. Noise. One doesn't. But. Puts pi-- people. Into. Line. Of fire."
That shouldn’t be a problem. I think fire is a good idea, I’m guessing your thinking of a cantrip, so we can be further away for that if we want to try that first.
Nikkitch moves into position, albeit 50 feet away from the doors. Aiming, with a word and twist of his hand, the wizard launches a Firebolt straight at the wooden surface of the door.
That did something alright. The fire bolt hits the door, singing the wooden surface and making the hinges creak and the handles clatter. No response from the glyph. It seems like the door will be able to take some punishment, but not for long.
If Nikkitch keeps this up for a few minutes, he'll be able to burn it to cinders eventually.
As Nikk begins hurling fire at the door, Pisgah slides his shield to his back and pulls his longbow from it's sheath and strings it. Moving behind the nearest statue he nocks an arrow and holds the bow ready to draw and loose if something ominous comes through the trapped door.
Under the relentless barrage of fire, the doors first crack, then start to come apart. The planks fall down, the wooden barrier defeated. Whatever sigil Nikkitch had seen on the doors before shows no sign of having been triggered by the assault.
As the entrance collapses into a heap of smoldering debris, you see partially into the dark room beyond. It seems to be a hall of great dimensions, for you make out neither the walls nor the ceiling from your positions. You see parts of large piles of soiled, torn tapestries and curtains, intermixed with humanoid bones and broken bits of stone close to the entrance. No sign of any creatures.
More out of curiosity than anything else, Rico will join in shooting at the door, using her magic pistol. She's wondering if the bullet of magic will trigger the ward when the fire doesn't.
Pisgah is going to move forward and post up behind one of the statues nearest the door and take a look. Perception roll of 19 (not using the horn, keeping a arrow ready to fly if needed)
This is still essentially the limit of what you can see, owning to Pisgah and Cantis sight only being able to penetrate 60 feet of darkness and the rest of the troup needing torches.
As you listen and watch carefully, you do hear a low rumbling breathing from inside the room towards the south. It no longer sounds like a creature sleeping in contrast to before. Owning to your (survival 24) training, you can easily recognize large paw prints on the floor, like those being made of a oversized cat of prey. In this case, you're fairly sure you're dealing with a manticore. And that manticore is probably waiting somewhere inside.
Pisgah whistles soft and low. "1, 2, 3, 4. I think I see the prints of a manticore. Hang back here, I am going to post up at the door. I think it is awake and since we've destroyed the doors it will likely be coming this way."
Pisgah is going to try to move quietly into the room (Stealth of 9). He will peek into the room to the south. If he sees or senses the manticore moving toward him he will fire the arrow.

"Skulls!"
Rico agrees, "Throwing skulls at it is worth a try, though I would suggest you be at least 20 feet from the door. Can you throw a skull that far?"
That shouldn’t be a problem. I think fire is a good idea, I’m guessing your thinking of a cantrip, so we can be further away for that if we want to try that first.

[I know it probably doesn't apply here, but...

...and again, aiming each time for the same point, scorching wood and weakening the door.
[To hit: 11 Damage: 10]

Again.
[Hit: 21 Damage: 5]
You don't need to actually roll it, it suffices to confirm that Nikk does it for a minute (which I'm now assuming).

The bullets provoke no other reaction than the fire bolts, albeit being a bit less effective against the wood.

What does the additional 40 ft reveal?

12 to hit; 3 damage
Nikk begins taking steps towards the new opening, peering into the inky black void...
[Disadvantage on Perception: 8 or 8 (hmmm, which to choose)]
At Pisgah's warning, he stops.
He tries to remember what he knows of Manticores, specifically how smart they might be
