It’s time to make this decision. I’m shutting down this campaign. It had a good run but interest has wained for some time and it’s all just mechanical now.
I am running another game and if you are willing to post at least daily then you are welcome to join. This game is very non standard, combat is limited and role playing is important. It’s based on the novels of SM Stirling (Emberverse). It is the real world after the day that technology stopped working and magic started to seep into the world. Everyone is human and there is no combat magic. All spells are rituals, at least 1 minute to cast or longer and only spells that have at least 10 minutes duration, so very useful but not in a fight. Magic healing exists but it takes hours.
Aye, Ta for running it Les, given me a chance to see 5th ed in action (and access to the rules): much, much better than 4th, but I still prefer 3.5. This site's good for rules and characters, but I prefer RolePlay onLine for actual game-play posting.

Fah'lin struggles to pull his battered body through the chain gate as the enormous cavern collapses behind him, entombing the Ice Giant King along with his remaining forces and the entrance to the gate. "Well..." He manages to grunt with a sigh, "That didn't go as expected."
A crow caws down at the paladin from its perch atop the pommel of Maeran-Cadail's saddle. Sciathan calls a reply, and the two birds begin a brief exchange of coarse notes. Sciathan pulls a small scroll free from the visitors leg, and brings it to Fah'lin as the crow returns to the sky.
Fah'lin reads the note silently... "I... I must return home. Hopefully... Hopefully, the knowledge and strength I've gained on this path will be enough to face... what lies ahead."
He hands Arya Xicohtencatl's token. "If ever any of you need me, send Xi and I will come." With that, he uses his remaining good arm to hoist his body weakly into the saddle, and begins his next adventure.
(Thank you, Les, and thank you everyone. I've had a lot of fun this last year and a half with you guys. Sorry, my participation has diminished significantly these last months. Thankfully my own real life has gotten back in order. You've all helped me through a rough time.
As Fah'lin said, if ever any of you need me... just send a message, and I'll reply. I hope to see you all around again.)

Les, Once again and as I have no doubt said to you many times over our 35 years of gaming together Thank You. It has been as always a wonderful experience to participate in your games and this time was no different. Might give your new game a look in for it sounds interesting but probably not for a month or so. Real life working and visiting the expanding family (two grandsons now) will take up my time in the short term.
And to the rest of our cast it has been most enjoyable and may our paths cross again in the future.

To reiterate this is the real world so none of the standard DnD tropes apply.

Thanks for all the blood, sweat and tears you put into GMing! It was interesting to see what 5E D&D is all about.
Thanks for your participation as well.
