Lets declare victory, there's no way the last giant will survive the round. Fah'lin, do your attacks so we can calculate healing.
Arya "There's a good chance there are more giants through that western door. This looks like a dormitory area. It will be much harder to sneak in the next time so should we risk another fight or declare victory and go while we're ahead?" She also searches for treasure in the two rooms.
You find a Giant Slayer greataxe and 2000gp worth of coin, gems and baubles.
"I could push on a little," says Thar "though a short rest would let me gather my energies."
OOC: Thar's character sheet shows both 4th level spell slots used. I think he only used one being Greater Invisibility. Also it shows no 1st or 2nd levels spells used but he did cast Magic Missile and Scorching Ray.
If a short rest is taken he will recover a 4th level slot.
"If they have not heard us we may be able to get the jump on them. Even rested the numbers will be against us, its best to strike while we hold the advantage."
(OOC: I agree to taking a short rest, vuy Tarnce is worried about giving up his perceived advantage.)

"Some of us have taken a bit of a beating: They like to concentrate their attacks," states Gijigume, "let's get out of here to fully recover before we run into more than we can handle or our route out gets cut off: We might encounter more on the way out anyway. If we do go on, I suggest that those that want to go on lead the way."
"Maybe we should set up a fox hole on the hill out there so we can get some details on what more is in here before we press in deeper." Fah'lin suggests.
(I've got two spell slots, potentially two shields, but Fah'lin can recover 2 slots with a short rest. We can only benefit from one long rest in 24 hours. So falling back for a long rest means waiting til another day to return. If we do we might consider coming back next evening under darkness. Catch 'em sleeping again.)
"We could try burning this place to the ground. That might inconvenience them," Aeliarin suggests.
Strangely, when I played this (not DM) our group had much the same idea. The DM shrugged, said okay, and we burned it down. When we searched the ashes a week latter (there's a shitload of wood here to burn) we discovered that the giants had evacuated via an underground exit taking ALL THEIR TREASURE and moved in with the next set of giants we would face, making it 3 times harder then.
There are 3 votes for short rest. Arya "Where should we rest; in one of these rooms we have cleared or closer to the exit in case the excrement hits the air circulator. I also have an idea for healing Fah'lin. We let him stab each of us once just before we rest and we can recover that as well as any spells and such."
In that case Tarnce assails the weakest looking giant attacking Fah'lin

“Hide” in the watch tower maybe. But the longer you are here the more likely that someone will stumble on to you.

"I'll be alright." Fah'lin says. "I'll just stab some more enemies when we continue."
During the rest Fah'lin is able to recover a bit. He regains 7 hit points, and his spell slots.

(So long as he doesn't take too many crits 4 spell slots will keep him from taking much damage.)
