I'm looking for mostly experienced players to set the tone, make requests, and really roleplay their character's backgrounds and decisions. When done correctly, the Sandbox World will respond to the character you have created which should offer greater encounters and RP options.
Requirements Create a 1st level character with any and all character creation options and choose from one of the following Point Buy Systems.
Standard 27 point buy 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 You can use the Standard array or standard point buy.
Empowered Array +2 17, 16, 15, 14, 12, 10 You can add +2 to the Standard array or choose your own 27 point buy array and then add +2 to all stats
Wealth and Magic Item Access Everyone can start with both the max starting wealth for their class and one equipment pack plus an additional 500 gp. I've been using Sane Magical Prices for a while and I haven't run into too many problems (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8XAiXpOfz9cMWt1RTBicmpmUDg/view?resourcekey=0-ceHUken0_UhQ3Apa6g4SJA) If there are magic items on your wish list that are not priced here, let me know and I will come up with a DM assigned price.
Backstory Besides choosing a Background or a Custom Background, and writing your Backstory, it's recommended that you take a couple minutes to write a post or two from your character's point of view, what he/she wants and how they might go about getting what they want.
Other than that, Please PM me with a link to your character and that you are interested in playing. I'll send you a message and link to your own game thread. I will be choosing between 2 and 4 players, each to have their own storyline and PbP thread.

The Crystal Tower stands as an example of Elven Engineering. It's a shimmering beacon, right in the heart of the Elven Enclave. Each wall shines with iridescence, quartz, diamond, emerald, and ruby. A structure like this was not built with hands, rather it was fabricated by magiks.
Quiet murmurs among the elven scholars and mages in training could be heard throughout the large and seemingly endless chamber.
Levi Starblade stood among them. A human among elves, he grew up from childhood, living among elves, knowing Moonspire as his only home, he had taken on several aspects of his fellow elves. A slight curl of his lips when speaking, a squint in his eyes while listening, his tall stature and sinew body made him blend in with the other elves, along with his long blond hair and green eyes. It's possible that no normal human would ever doubt that he was not an elf but in that same way all the other elves had ways that they could tell.
Levi, along with all the other young mages and apprentices, had been summoned to the grand hall of the tower for an important announcement.
At the far end of the hall, a raised platform and podium stood, where Elenara now stood. Elenara was an ancient elf with silver hair and violet eyes, that glowed. When she spoke, her voice was clear and almost seemed to come from within the listener and not projected from her voice.
"May the peace of Moonspire never end," she opened with one of the most sacred greetings known to the Enclave. "Many of you may already know why you have been summoned. It is an annual tradition, one wrought in a millennium of practice and observance. You have been summoned here because it is time for our chicks to fly free from their nests. We do not send you away as punishment or as a test of your resilience. No, we only ask that volunteers do what thousands have done before. Go out into the material plane, to a strange land, filled with humans and other non-elf races. Be ambassadors of Moonspire. Be excellent and shining examples of what makes you all Eleves."
Sylvari, a fellow apprentice and somewhat of a rival to Levi, speaks out of turn, "So what. You're going to let Levi represent our heritage as an Elf and he's only a human?"
A murmur runs through the crowd, a scene of unrest not common to the Enclave, but Elenara raised a hand to silence it.
"Levi is a shining example of Moonspire, regardless of his race or origin of birth." Elenara smiles with the wisdom of the ages and finishes her speech with assignments for each and every apprentice that volunteers to go.
The next day, volunteers board wooden ships with sails that fly with magic to a swirling storm far off in the distance. The seas in Moonspire are always calm except here where a storm is contained. Entering the storm, each ship teleports to the Vesper seas in a tumultuous journey of rocking and shaking. The experience can be traumatizing although brief.
The ships pull up to the Vesper Docks and the apprentices all exit.
Levi grips a rolled parchment with the Enclave's Seal as he marches towards the Vesper Castle in search of the steward of the King's Council. He is lead into the castle and ushered into one of the largest towers and then into a study with books and maps and many more treasures of knowledge. A man wearing black leather accented with green silk and a green cloak approaches Levi and asks, "How may we serve one from the Elven Enclave?"
Lord Aldric takes the parchment and breaks the seal. He reads the letter and says, "So you're a wizard. And you fooled me, you're human. A human raised by Elves. Intriguing." He finishes reading and puts the parchment away at his desk and returns as if to address you.
Lord Aldric stares at Levi with intense but kind eyes. He looks at you, not saying a word, for what seems like several minutes.
Another man quickly approaches Lord Aldric and whispers a message into his ear. "Yes. I understand. Tell them to go forward."
He then turns to look at you once more. "Levi, I have every intention to keep you here and train you but the King's Council is more than just information brokers. We communicate with all the different outposts in the region and we send investigators to take inventory of problems and report back."
He signals you to follow him to a large map on the wall. "See here on this map, this is the Castle Vesper and around it is the capital. But all this area is the Kingdom of Vesper. And if you look here, you can see that there are several outposts along the tree line near the Darkwoods. You probably already know, but then again, 'raised by Elves', so you might not know, that the Darkwoods is goblin territory. We have a treaty with the Orc and Goblin tribes in the Darkwoods for thirty years now, so it's unlikely that you will see them. However, living in an outpost, so far from the city, things happen, caravans are late, sickness, fires, you name it, we get word and we send help."
He pulls a scroll case off of his desk and begins rolling up scrolls and placing them in it.
"I want you to take this badge, it's the Council Emblem and it means that you are an official investigator for the King's Council." The badge is attached to a thin chain and can be worn around your neck or fastened to your vest.
"Take this scroll case and I'll find a porter with a wagon that will take you to Briarwood Village, about a two week journey North of here that will take you close to the Darkwoods. Check in with the locals and ask for a Captain Harlan. He has requested an investigator and although we command a substantial amount of resources, all of our investigators are out on missions. Welcome to the team Investigator Levi." He shakes your hand and says, "Find a place to stay for the night and meet me back in the morning and I'll have the wagon and porter ready for your journey."

"Thank you Sir." Levi exits the tower and looks for a cheap place to stay for the night.
Not far from the Castle Tower's side entrance is a humble inn with plenty of local flavor. You stay at the inn which includes a drawn bath and breakfast in the morning for 1 gp.
In the morning, you return to the Castle Tower and Lord Aldric is waiting. He says, "The man on the wagon is Gralden the wagon master. He is one of the King's Porters and is on retainer with the Council Investigators. He will get you to Briarwood Village in the far outpost to conduct your investigation. Check in with him and make preparations for food and supplies. I can offer you these 50 gp for your troubles and take these military rations of oat cakes, crackers, and jerky."
Supplies 20x daily rations 50 gp
When you approach the wagon, Gralden speaks, "Ah, you must be the young one I'm driving, Investigator Levi. Well I'm Gralden Ironfist and I've been a wagon master for many years now, traveling these lands and ensuring the safe transport of goods and travelers alike. It's a simple life, but an honest one."
He adjusts the reins of one of the horses as he continues. "I've seen my fair share of adventures and dangers out here on the road, but I've always managed to come through unscathed. You learn to be quick on your feet and keep your wits about you in this line of work."
"So young investigator, are you ready to hit the road or you got some more supplies to gather?"
"I will be back in a few minutes. Need to get some special ink for recording spells." Levi will go to a shop to get the ink needed to copy spells and spend 100gp worth of gold for the ink before returning to Gralden. "Alright. I'm ready. Do you have enough food for yourself? If not, I have ten days worth of rations you can have."

For this campaign, you can create the ink needed for scribing by powdering costly materials: silver, copper, or gold, even gems, and mixing it with naturally found colorant like animal blood, boiled flowers, crushed nuts. The process will take some time and equipment but will be readily available in case you need to scribe something without access to shops.
Each day on the open wagon trail invites conversation from Gralden who opens up about his life as a Dwarf and leaving his home after the Orc Wars. He has been a fighter in the Dwarven army, but as he says, "That was another life." Now that he is getting up there in years, he prefers the lifestyle in Vesper Kingdom to that of the dark Dwarven Undermountain. He loves his job as a porter and a wagon master and helping those lost on the road.
Mounted on the wagon is a heavy crossbow with steel bolts in a quiver.

Oh cool. Is there any special tools I need to do this?
Let's call it alchemists supplies and you don't need proficiency with artisan tools to use it, just to add your proficiency to craft items that can be sold, here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/equipment/102-alchemists-supplies
