Rask holds her weapon at the ready. "I'm ready to go and check it out. I can't see well in the dark, but I'm willing to be one of the first in, in case there's someone waiting".
"Well I would prefer to see what comes out first, but I can see the merit in heading down. Let me just check the door before we head down, cant be too careful" with that Susk will head to the trap door to inspect it more closely.
Zaerra taps a finger to her lips in thought. She finally speaks "So we know someone has gone through the trapdoor recently, but not whether they too were just exploring or for other reasons. There could be other dangers in the mansion that we may come across, but what went down the trap door could also pose us issues. We are in a bit of rock and a hard place aren't we." She looks around at the party with a cocked eyebrow and a wry smile. "I will follow where the majority wish to go. I've seen too many times the results of splitting up the party... I'm not going to fall for that ever again. "
She looks down at her feet, was that a tear in her eye?
Yga will study the trap door and assess if it can be locked (either from above or below). If Yga can't make that assessment she will give Susk a nudge - "Best we don't become trapped under this door....what say you man of shadows?" If it is lockable, can the lock be disengaged?
If there is low risk of being locked in Yga will go with the party.
It does not appear to be locked or lockable from this side, but without seeing the underside you are not sure if it is lockable or not from that side..
Overhearing Yga's concern about being trapped, Rask looks around the room to determine if there is any large furniture that could be moved over the trapdoor by an enemy who might attempt to trap the party.

The room is bare, apart from small detritus blown in through windows with broken shutters.

Yga draws her mace in anticipation of something springing forth from the trap door, and in the absence of any furniture seeks cover behind the next bulkiest thing - Irob.
Irob seems confused as to Yga's use of him as a protective barrier but will prepare a firebolt in the event something comes out of the trapdoor. Although he stands as far across the room as possible
Rask will follow suit and adjusts her maul to ensure maximum efficiency when striking. She opts not to attempt to shelter behind Yga, sheltering Irob (although she's momentarily tempted by the hilarious tableau that would present) and instead stands to Irob's side where she has a clear view of the trapdoor and anything that might pop out
Well away from the trap door, Zaerra casts mage hand. The trap door rises, and as it becomes fully open, a mouth appears on the underside. A loud and malevolent voice utters: “Welcome, fools — welcome to your deaths!” Booming, fiendish laughter follows the spoken message.
There are wooden stairs leading down into some kind of cellar. The party can hear people cursing and the sounds of weapons being grabbed.
Irob, knowing the variety of tools available to some spellcasters will attempt to ascertain if there has been an magical amplification and/or grandeur added to the statment coming from below.
Arcana: 3
Irob will then keep an eye out for anybody exiting the trapdoor, preparing to throw a firebolt at the second person to exit the trapdoor.

Irob is uncertain. If the voices are an illusion of some type, then it is a good one.

"Underneath, couldn't have expected to see that" Susk mumbles to himself as the mouth appears.
With that he will draw his rapier, and head back to the opening, positioning himself opposite to where the stairs emerge. (He will strike at the first person to appear out of the opening)

I'll need a perception check please.

You're pretty sure there's no traps on this here door :)

That leaves Susk and Zaerra standing by the trap door, blinking at the other three in ready stance some distance away.
Zaerra turns to Susk, " Let's step back my friend so we aren't so close to the pointy end. I've a little trick up my sleeve that may help. "
Zaerra steps back towards the main group and when Susk joins her she will cast mage hand and attempt to open the trap door.

Drawing in a breath of surprise, Zaerra adopts a stance of readiness. She waves her hand in a dismissive motion and the hand disappears.
