The grough older man says, "What if I did? Too scared to check for yourself, huh? Common move it." And he begins ushering you into the alley like an unrepentant bully.
"You did?"the changeling whimpers. Then yelps "Hey! Hey!" once they get pushed. "I really don't think that was just a regular dog."
As they keep on walking, they cast thaumaturgy again, muttering the incantation while pretending to be praying. They fiddle around with that holy amulet, its silver lining giving a bit of shiny reflection onto the ground below. The 'wolf' howls again, this time closer- in the opposite corner where it had been coming from. Its snarls sound near and hungry. "Stay behind me," they whisper to the gruff old man, taking a step back.
"Stay back!" they shout out, tugging on the necklace and placing it out in front of themself, one arm stretching out to protect the other man from the supposed threat. "I- I- I'm warning you, beast!"
They could just feel the sharp teeth in their mouth growing. 'Too easy.'

They step forward ever so slowly, creeping up to an unseen threat that isn't there. "Where-" Then they suddenly turn, their head no longer being anywhere near human. It opens up like flaps in four quarters, teeth lining down the middle of each one. There is one long monstrous tongue in between. Using this as an element of surprise, they run and barrel themselves into the human.
Shoving the man to the wall, they cover his mouth with their sticky hands acting almost as if it were duct tape. Their skin flaps seal, regaining its human form once more yet this time with a wide elongated smile that spreads way beyond what should be. Rather than go for the kill, they bite down on his arm, their long mimic tongue snaking around this man's arm not only just trying to get a taste but also to yank it. They want to see this man suffer. They want him to watch them do it. The revel in this type of 'honesty'.
((Mimic Maw 14 + 3 = 17; Damage: 2 piercing))
They look up at the man to meet him at eye level. However, their grip on him seems to faltering...
((I'm not sure if this was only allowing one action but I was just sort of envisioning they would try to grapple him but fail since I did an athletics check and I got a 4 ahah))
Dallan waves off the praise, "think nothing of it. The moment this one popped into a seat at the table, I knew I was dun fur."
"This way", and he begins leading the group though the district pointing out the odd point of historical or communal significance.
Belgama followed along happily, far mor interested in the people she saw than any historical sites. She had little care for what those here considered significant, but she still played along mindlessly nodding to Dallan's words as she explained. She peaked over at Yesphira and Grim wondering if they had any interest in it or if it was just her mind that was wondering as they traveled.
Yesphira listens to Dallan as they travel along, but more so listening out for opportunities to contract more souls, rather than learn anything meaningful about the history of their surroundings.
The man releases a silent scream of horror as you bight off his arm and falls on his back in the alley. ((This is a noncombatent NPC; HP 5 - now 3; AC 9. )) They are stuck to the Alley way with your Mimic mucus saliva.
Yesphira and Grim: As you wander following Dallan, if you open yourself to the surface thoughts of those around you, you get a better understanding of the people and area. ((Advantage on history, religion, or investigation checks regarding the city for the next five days.))
There are a few six (6) leads in scattered conversations, and stray thoughts, you think you could follow up on. You're sure you could find them again later if you don't want to split off just yet.
There are humans, mostly, the elves, and half-elf folk. There are also taller more built bodied green to gray skinned folks with tusks and others that seem to be various forms of day walking gargoyle. There are folk like Dallan and various type of sea peoples. You can tell by their aura and appearance their not sea elf, but maybe a mer folk. And their are folks who are less built than Dallan, but clearly not children three type of smaller folk at least. They'd hardly be a snack. And some of them are dressed in armor and armed.
You're not sure you've seen something more ridiculous.
You also see at least three different type of walking, talking, reptilian folk, and a few that must be some type of demon or devil.

Tearing through this man's arm was a piece of cake. Gemini can't help but smile. Too bad their mouth was already full. They rip off the limb and have it dangling out their mouth before they swallow it up, curling their tongue around it to bring it up before crunching down with a satisfying snap. The bones of the man's arm break like twigs under their tongue's grip. They slurp it down like a snake.
"Sorry to say, but guess it wasn't a werewolf this time," they chuckle, standing back to admire their work. Even with their loose grip, this man seems to have found his way stuck to their saliva like a fly on a spider's web, so they didn't mind just taking a view. "Too bad,"they start licking their fingers, though making sure there was always one hand on the man's mouth, "you're very gamey. They like that."
((Mimic Maw: 5 + 3 = 8 oof))
Getting too excited, they jump in to take a snap at him but hit air. Bewildered, taking a step back, they feel their face flush. Sweat has begun running down their back. "HAH!"they laugh it off as a bad joke which morphs into a real one, "you flinched." Smiling now that that's done, they eliminate all signs of embarrassment with a simple shapechange, taking on the dying man's form.
With that they lunge at him, now with their saliva practically zipping his mouth shut, they start tearing him apart piece by piece. Starting first with his other arm then each leg, they soon watch him bleed out, swallowing their prizes greedily ('thanks for the meal, Bix. Owe ya.') while keeping the head on the torso. Finally with that done, they crouch down upon the bleeding body and close the man's eyes before taking a bite again out of him, just finishing off their work like a beast and ripping it to shreds bones and all in a matter of a two minutes.
Full but now covered in blood, they sit up and look upon the mess they've made. "Yikes."

She was mesmerized by the vast array of creatures, especially all the kinds she had never seen before. the unique smells peaked her excitement and she had to focus to keep herself from drifting off after some of them. The armomed and armored ones help keep her in check too as she thinks about the consequences of grabbing someone with them around. She leaned in closer to Dallan itching to know what these creatures are, avoiding the sea related ones of course, she didn't need him clocking the fact she wasnt a sea elf. "I lived pretty isolated...underwater, there's so many people here ive never seen before. Like those." She subtlety pointed to the gargoyle like humanoids.

It's not like there's anything there. Plus, nobody even saw them eat this man, so...
They swallow the rest of the items (except the coins) , becoming their own personal bag of holding, and making their way towards the crew. They don't announce themself just yet but decide to linger. They trail behind the three friends pretty obviously.
