Welcome to The Rest in the Quest, a two-story tavern that you may find within your local town. It seems to be a new establishment that has recently been made and opened up. A sign on the door which reads Leave your wars at the doors as you step through to find a quaint tavern with an open room. There are several tables set up around the area, with a 30 foot long bar to the left, and an open seating area by a fireplace to the right. It looks like the chairs can be cleared out for a performance area beside the fireplace, while the seating areas are conveniently
Rules of the PbP:
Don't be a dick.
Respect the other players. Pretty straight forward.
Bring your current character. The Rest in the Quest is a place that is linked multidimensionally for people to meet those from other campaigns. Think of it as a non-canon environment to allow your own character to meet those in other campaigns. If you want to attempt to treat this as canon, speak with your campaign's DM. I'm not in control of their campaign, but will happily co-operate with them if they wish to work some things out here.
Describe your character. If you are bringing your character, please put a base desscription. It doesn't have to be in depth (A tall black dragonborn in plate armour will suffice, for example). If you feel up to it, link your character description post when mentioning your character in following posts for ease for people to find your character description.
IF YOU ARE USING ILLUSIONS etc. to hide yourself, please put what you really look like within a spoiler box and explain your method of hiding your actual self.
Refrain from PvP. This is more of a social meeting area, not for people to dick on other characters. As mentioned on the door, "Leave your wars at the doors". If you need to have an argument, ensure it is something that can be settled without kicking off, and remember this is just a game. Please try to not take anything personally, and don't try to make things personal.
Staff have authority. There will be staff PCs (list below), so check if you are speaking with a player who is a member of staff. If they mention something happening, then assume it happens unless I say otherwise. They are basically co-DMs for this social experiments.
Syntax. If you are speaking aloud, use "quotation marks". If you are internally thinking something, place it in italics. Anything beyond that is accepted as a description of your actions. If you need to state or ask something OOC, please put it into (brackets)
Please keep things PG-13. Talking about more mature content or describing that your character is sexy and scantily clad? Fine, just make sure not to make it the main focus of your writing, and not explicit content.
Have fun. That's the whole point of this, isn't it?

Ragella, the stout female dwarf barmaid. She is just shy of 4'6'' and has bright orange hair, usually tied back into a ponytail. She has a stocky build, with muscles showing beneath her work uniform. Her skin is a ruddy tanned colour and she has a freckled face with a small scar just below her right eye. Her eyes are a coppery brown colour.
Arnold, the slender tall male human waiter. He has his short grey hair combed back which gives him an air of authority as he speaks with a fairly posh tone. Somewhat out of place in such a place, with his neat suit and generally upper class tone. He has pale skin and a couple of wrinkles beginning to show on his face, and he wears a single white glove on his right hand.
Kelryn, the half-elven entertainer, played by LaRue.
The tavern is fairly quiet at this moment in time. The heavy wooden floorboards recently swept and mopped, leaving a slightly shiny tint to the ground. Behind the bar is a sturdy looking dwarf woman with bright orange hair tied back into a ponytail. She wears a uniform of a smart looking navy blue top with the letters TRINQ embroidered over the heart. She is currently wiping the bar down, several large tankards and steins being placed into a box for the dish washer to take through to be cleaned.
Behind her is a sign with different drink types. Some you recognise, some you do not. They vary from the cheap stuff, only being 1cp a pint, to the more ornate drinks that are counted in gold. At the bottom of the sign, someone has written ASK ABOUT OUR MAGICAL DRINKS in bright red chalks.
A beautiful, half-elven woman is seated at the center of the bar. Perhaps the first thing most people notice about her is her wildly long and pink hair, which is currently tied up into a long ponytail with braids. The next thing anyone might notice is that she is dressed in a way which bears much of her skin and her outfit seems fantastical with its sheer fabric, golden accents, and a design meant to bring gazes onto her. It would seem strange, at first, to consider this person an employee of The Rest in the Quest and not just some hoity-toity noble or celebrity.
Yet, something about her easy smile and open body language seems inviting. The woman, despite it all, seems easy to talk to and approach. In fact, she seems to welcome any conversation directed to her. Your first impression of her is that she might be an entertainer or a bard of some kind, though it always pays to be a bit cautious when it comes to assuming the strengths of any stranger you meet!
If you stare at her too long, she will greet you with, "Hi there, my name is Kelryn. What's your name?"

The dwarven barmaid places the box onto the edge of the bar, then looks to the pink-haired lady. "You playing tonight, hun?" She asks, walking back towards the centre point of the bar. She takes out a clean glass and places on the bar. "Need some liquid courage?"
"I'll take the liquid,"Kelryn winks at Ragella playfully, "but I've got plenty of courage. I'll be performing tonight for sure! Maybe some musicians from the audience will join along this time. Performing my routine alone is not fun!" The half-elf laughs softly, "Well, not for me anyway. I forget, do we have anything fruity here?" Kelryn asks the dwarven woman as the half-elf leans her head into a hand.
"I'm not great with hard drink, but I am a sucker for something sweet."

"Do we have any sweet drinks?" Ragella scoffs. "Hun, we have drinks from all places, of course we can get you something to drink." She looks below the bar again. "Hmm... I could mix you up a Strawberry Cagepot if you want; I hear its all the rage in Sigil's gentry at the moment."
Ragella pulls a large tome onto the table, the red velveteen cover embroidered with golden thread that reads, Alchemixology of the Cosmos.
"Oof, how could I forget?"Kelryn sat up at attention, "So many choices! I'll gladly take your recommendation, Ragella, or I will be paralyzed by such monumental decision making."
As Ragella prepares the mixture, Kelryn muses aloud, "Sigil, huh? What a strange place, well, maybe not strange per se. More like - alien!"

Ragella unlocks the tome. The interior seems to hold more pages than could possibly fit within its bindings as she flicks through until she finds the recipe she is looking for. "Well all places are alien to someone." She comments. "Hmm, right well we've got plenty of fresh strawberries, so this should be a cinch. I'll pop it on your tab for tonight." With that, Ragella goes to the side of the bar, where she opens a half-door below the bar and pulls out a punnet of chilled strawberries before heading over and beginning to mix, blend, and pour a sweet smelling pink drink into a square glass with thin metal bands and handle, reminiscent to a metal cage. "Here we go, hun." She says, sliding the drink over. "Well, it's open hours now, so we should be getting some new customers soon."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"You're right, can't let our customers see me drinking on the job!" Kelryn, against most people's better judgment, drinks the whole thing in one go, albeit a bit slowly. "Woo! I couldn't even taste the alcohol, just the strawberries. Fantastic!"

A creak can be heard from the back door, a small yawn sounding out as a short blue skinned tiefling walks out in her pajamas. Her silver hair a mess of knots and loose strands, fenced off by her horns rising above them. Her disheveled appearance is with that of a loose white tie shirt and brown cloth pants loosely tied to her waist. She walks to the bar sleepily, showing that her back is revealed. She sees the dwarven bartender and softly smiles, "Morning Raggy,"She says happily as she sets her arms onto the counter, laying her head onto them as a pillow. She spots Kelryn and nods her head, "Morning Kelryn, sleep well?" She notes the empty glass and gives a slight smirk, "Already running up a tab?" She takes a whiff of the air and smell the intoxicating sweet scent. "Mmm, maybe I should make some lemon shortcakes with some peach tarts. What do you think Raggy?"
Kelryn is somewhat suspicious that there isn't any alcohol in that drink. She didn't feel any buzz from getting drunk, and it tasted very sweet. It's either masked very well and her tolerance is great, or there isn't any booze.
The tiefling takes a seat at the bar as well. Ragella smirks as her. "Well you always know how to make them just right." She says, taking a glass out for the tiefling. "Need a pick-me-up? You were busy last night. Who thought that we'd have a clan of half-hill giants turn up, and who actually pay?" She then looks to Kelryn's emptied drink. "By heck, you were thirsty. Need another one?"
"Just some milk please, I'm a bit sad I had to go through one of my roasts. They ate the whole thing!" She sighs and sits up, "Well their gold was good anyway and they looked so happy to have some good meat." She looked about the tavern for Arnold, "Arnold still a bit sore from last night? He did have a lot of them slap him on his back."
Ragella rummages in the back of the bar again, producing a pitcher of milk. "Oh, he'll survive. He's a tough cookie, that one." She says, pouring a glass of milk. "He's out the back, sorting out the bottles."
Stepping into the warm embrace of the tavern, Celedad pauses to survey the scene. Satisfied with the arrangement, he loosens his rough spun travellers cloak, clasped at the neck with a dull bronze brooch, and softly closes the door.
A human, fairly tall, with sharp features. Age has begun to fade his hair from rose-blonde to dirty grey, and it falls to his shoulders, unkept and wild. His years have etched wrinkles across his forehead, and the hint of a limp betrays an old injury. As he approaches the bar, he produces a small pouch of coins, and looks hopefully to Ragella for service.
Regalla looks over to their latest customer. "Ah, good day stranger. Welcome to The Rest in the Quest." She says, putting the remainder of the pitcher of milk away. "What'll it be today?" She closes the large tome beside her, showing the golden embroidered Alchemixology on the front, should Celedad be interested in a cocktail.
Also stepping into the hall of the tavern is a prim looking human man. He has a tall, slender build, and is wearing a neatly pressed suit and has his short grey hair swept back neatly. He looks over to the box at the end of the bar. "Found another box for the washer, did you?"Arnold says, headed over to collect it.
"Yeah, well it was a busy night last night." Ragella comments.
Sloth turns to the customer, raising her glass of milk, "Welcome to the Rest in the Quest, where you can rest easy and get tipsy." She smiles as she takes a few sips from the glass and leaves her seat. "Morning Arnold, ready for another day?" She asks as she heads to the kitchen, grabbing an apron labeled with 'Devil's Sweetroll' and puts it over her pajamas.
Kelyrn greets Sloth as the tiefling enters the room. The half-elf passes her friend an easy smile before standing up. "I slept like a dream, my dear, my dear~"Kelyrn continued in a singsongy voice.
Kelryn winks at the newcomer as she stretches, but quickly stops when Arnold makes his appearance. She stands up straight and looks at attention, "Hello to you, Arnold. I hope you had a pleasant night!"
