"I come from a family of adventures, as my father was a wizard, my mother a fighter, and my grandfather a mage, but then my mother and father lost against a Rashaka, and I had to flee, as my grandfather lost his body against the Rashaka's thugs."

The rest of the day passes smoothly, and without note, but next morning, Katerina duels Valen, with Katerina calling out nthial shunota, to cast the spell Armor of Agathys, and yelling "Grandfather, distract him", so once Valen had gone into blade song, and cast Mage Armor, she ran forward, and and swung in, the shadows coiling around them and her blade work distracting him, before stepping in, with both his weapons out wide, and slamming her pommel into his head, causing him to crumple. Katerina is imediatly on her knees, checking that he is okay and breathing, as she gets up, and hauls Valen inside - I hope that he is okay, how can I help him recover?
Valen had just finished casting Mage Armor when Katerina's blade slammed into him. He let out an "oof" before the world around him faded to black.
While unconscious, Valen had a dream. He stood on a battlefield, one he remembered too well. "No..." he muttered, glancing around, seeing the corpses of his fallen comrades. "I can't do this again. I don't have the power." A voice, unbidden, seemed to echo through his mind. "I CAN HELP YOU, MORTAL. YOU REFUSED MY AID ONCE BEFORE. I OFFER IT AGAIN." Before Valen could reply, he was suddenly shaken from his state.
The elf stirred from his "sleep," something between a Trance and a normal rest. "Ow... Where am I?" He looked around, seeing the interior of his room at the inn. "Katerina? Did you carry me up here?"
Over the next week, the Blacksmith meets with Valen, Dastrun, and Chance, and works on their weapons. On Gelamn 9, he sends his apprentice - a girl of about 13 with red hair - to tell the group that their weapons are ready.
The apprentice arrives just as the group is finishing their breakfast.

Katerina spends the week getting to know the rest of the group, and practicing her weapon work. when she sees the girl, she is currently talking with Valen about magic. when she sees the girl, she grins and calls out her name, as she knew her from when the blacksmith asked about her Grandfather Blade, before the group arrived.

Chance spends the week furthering his knowledge of his companions and speaking with the villagers. Making frequent use of his rituals, to ease communication. He looks forward to receiving his starforged weapon. Chance smiles when the apprentice tells the group that the weapons are ready and follows her back to the Blacksmith.
Valen spent the week recovering from the nasty blow Katerina gave him. He focused on developing new tactics for the group, assessing Katerina's abilities, watching her practice. While waiting for the rest of the group, he attempts to communicate with the blacksmith's apprentice, showing off his magical abilities.
Dastrun spent the time trying to figure out what was put on him, and then asking people to translate what is on him.....which didn't go as smoothly as you'd think. He spent the rest of the week grumbling in a tavern, because the rest of things he does for fun, might get him arrested in this town. When the apprentice comes, he glady follows, excited to finally get a new weapon.
Valen's attempt at communication fails miserably, but the apprentice is able to gleam the intent of the message - "Hello" - and waves in return. She takes you back to the blacksmith's store, where the blacksmith stands, putting finishing touches on one of the rapiers. The star still sits in the back of the forging area, a little less than two thirds of its original size. When he sees you approach, he waves. After a few more seconds of work, he turns back towards you.
"Perfect timing. I've just finished the final detailing for the last of the weapons. I was doing the maths this morning, and if we say that the metal is 1.2 times more expensive than steel, we're looking at a little over 4 200 gold for the lot. Not including the star's leftovers, anyway."

Valen inhaled sharply when he heard the cost of their weapons. "So even if we include the star's leftovers, that would be roughly 2500-3000 gold, yes?" I don't have that kind of money, he thought. Maybe we could use part of the other star? As he thought about it, he realized that Dastrun's Dotanuki shouldn't have cost so much. "Shouldn't the Dotanuki only cost the regular rate, instead of being 1.2 times the cost?"
"I doubt it'd be that much. I was thinking that what's left of the star is a bit over 3000 gold. As for the pricing, you are absolutely right, 4080 gold of the cost was a result of me multiplying the cost of making a dotanuki-style weapon by 1.2, when that has only a little extra material. 3600 gold, minus the star. Lets say the star was 3100 gold, that's 500 gold for the final amount?"
The blacksmith sounds willing to negotiate the value of the star.

"Listen not only is the star great material, but it's extremely rare" Dastrun says, "The only way you can get them is if you track them down before anyone else does, after they fall from the sky. You also have to defeat the guardians, beings made of flame and evil. That star is worth a little more I think."
Chance helps Dastrun (Whilst thinking, usually would have been best for him to do the talking)
Dastrun, please don't forget the danger or risks associated with obtaining this metal. I would ken that it may be some of the rarest metal and would be worth much than gold. We know I would propose that the difference between a gold piece and a copper piece is smaller still than the value between a piece of starmetal and a gold piece.
Katerina nods at Chances words, and adds "In addition, I am sure that the star is particularly good for conducting magical power, and as such, may be even more valuable, particularly in my birthplace of Stormhallow, which has a major mages guild, one reason my grandfather settled there."

"I suppose that is true. It would certainly sell well in Stormhallow. Not sure about the conductivity of magic, but it certainly has a magic within it. How's 100 gold for the final amount then? I need at least a bit of cash in hand, especially if I'm to travel to Stormhallow."

"I think that's a wonderful idea," Valen said. Turning to Dastrun and Chance, he continued, "I believe we should split the cost according to our own weapon costs. Does that sound fair to you two?"
"Then it's settled," Valen said. He returned his attention to the blacksmith. "Could you give us the approximate cost for each weapon, out of the 100 gold pieces we owe you?"
The blacksmith pulls out a scrap of paper and a pencil, and quickly does the maths.
"Funnily enough, if there were no enhancements to the weapons at all, and standard material were used, you'd be looking at 102 gold total. 50 for the big sword, 25 for each rapier, and 2 for the dagger. I suppose you can write off the dagger under the star, though."
