(Isk had to use the inspiration, but the entire party avoided getting poisoned by the yellow mold trap.)
The party can post actions for the first round. Using the text map from post 2509, Jack is a bit west of the stone door (took a few steps back after the trip went off). The other four are in the middle of the room, with Trimyrai & Reverie slightly north, and Froskan & Iskander slightly south. The dark ooze is 20' west from the four, filling up the width of the corridor outside the room.

Trim notices a few things, which he points out to the other four party members:
1) The arrow (piercing) is doing normal damage.
2) The effect (5 damage) was small, but that is because the big blob has a lot of hit points.
3) After hitting with the arrow, a thin spray of liquid erupted from the wound, which would have struck someone who was near it. It has the sharp smell of acid.
4) After hitting, you can see the metal arrowhead and the wooden shaft are both quickly dissolved. (He will have to ask Bommie tomorrow for a replacement.)

Not wanting to waste any spell slots until seeing how the creature reacts to different stimuli, Froskan simply casts Frostbite at the ooze, then backs away as far as he can.
DC14 con save or 3 damage and disadvantage on next attack.
After casting the spell, Froskan sees that it is unaffected (immune to Cold).
(OOC: Trimyrai already tried, but the other four can still try a Nature check as a free action, to see if they remember what this thing is, and which attacks are effective.)

(OOC: Glad you mentioned the CON check. I thought that "immunity" wiped out everything from that attack. But after some research, "immunity" is never defined in game terms. (!!) One of the designers said that conditions are not the same as damage, so you are right that the side-effect can still happen, even without the cold damage.)

Jack looks at his sword, then the slime. Sword. Slime. Drums. His own mouth (somehow :) ). Slime. Trim’s bow. His arrow. Jack’s rapier. The slime again. Then he gets an idea.
“Alright. First, Trim, try using your unbreakable arrow. See if it works with magic. Next...” Jack inhales a deep breath, then shouts out one Sentence: “hey slime! You’re ugly!”
(Nothing like a good insult. DC16 save or 3 psychic and disadvantage.)

(OOC: I was trying to let Reverie and Jack do a free action Nature check, to see if they knew anything about this dark ooze. You'll see why, shortly...)
Players actions:
Trim shoots his arrow. It does full damage (5 damage piercing), but you can see that the blob dissolves metal and wood. It also sprays acid on anyone that damages it at close range.
Froskan uses Frostbite. The ooze is immune to cold damage, but it still has disadvantage on its attack this round.
Iskander's eldritch blast does full damage (9 damage, force & necrotic), but his blast did a disappointing low amount.
Both of Reverie's attacks hit (low AC). The dagger does full damage (3 piercing), but the scimitar does NO damage. Besides being immune to slashing damage, the Large ooze has now split into 2 medium-sized oozes. In addition, Reverie gets splashed with acid for 4 damage, and her dagger now has a permanent -1 modifier (hit and damage) from the acid.
Jack will target the northern ooze (A) with an insult. Psychic damage seems effective, oddly enough. WIS save vs. DC 14: 17 (it has taken 1 point of psychic damage, and has disadvantage on its next attack)
Ooze actions:
Ooze A attacks Reverie. Pseudopod Attack: 7 Damage: 5 + 16 damage. Reverie's armor has a permanent -1 penalty, due to the acid damage.
Ooze B moves towards either Iskander or Froskan (1,2: Iskander; 3,4 Froskan - 2), and attacks. Pseudopod Attack: 8 Damage: 8 + 16 acid damage (misses Froskan)
(EDIT: Jack is right. Forgot about disadvantage. 20 Reverie's armor is restored, and she regains 20 hit points.)
